  1. I'll bet that half of the next playoff team isn't in the organization, yet. How do they play prospects they haven't drafted or traded for, yet?
  2. I'm not the one acting flabbergasted that a GM oversaw a losing record in the first year of a rebuild and kept his job. You're basically proving to everyone that Getz does not "deserve" to be fired after last year, and certainly not after 13 games of this season.
  3. I'm confused. You seem to indicate that Luhnow's success came AFTER his historic run of failure with the Astros, in which case, nobody would have known at that time that Luhnow turning the Astros into a meme for failure would result in playoff success. Luhnow was hired by the Cardinals with zero baseball experience, and zero front office experience, so Chris Getz was way ahead of him there. Chris Getz won't be gifted 3 first overall draft choices like Luhnow was (and completely botched two of them - imagine if Chris Getz did that!) Luhnow also lost the Astros 2 other first rounders due to his cheating, so yeah, I agree with you, since Jeff Luhnow had so many breaks and still cheated his way out of the game, he doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Chris Getz. According to many here, by the time Luhnow was finishing off his 2nd progressively worse 100-loss season, he should have been fired.
  4. So what? I feel bad for the dudes who take on actual embarrassment over that record. A 119-loss team isn't demonstrably "better" than a 121-loss team.
  5. It's funny how some of you guys grasp at such BS straws to "prove" the canard that the White Sox had nothing to do with anything good that happened with their players in the organization. Most players have their own coaches, either ones they sought out at Driveline, or similar, or through their management agencies. Teams will coordinate with these outside coaches. I'm going to toss this nonsense on the growing pile of reasons to disregard your baseball acumen. This is right up there with your thought that GMs shouldn't solicit opinions from anybody in their employ who doesn't have "scout" written on their business card.
  6. The loss record has been set 6 times over the years. What is the difference between Dombrowski losing 119 games and Getz losing 121? Or Al Avila losing 114? Both Dombrowski and Avila kept their jobs for a while afterwards. Jeff Luhnow took over the Astros with one year less of front office experience than Getz had. Those Astros teams became an internet meme with their incompetence. It's a rebuild. The team is going to lose.
  7. Crochet said he was treated great by the White Sox. Yeah, they had a AAAA roster who were happy to be there. The Red Sox are competing for a title. Everything he said makes sense. The "I don't care if the guys traded for me work out" comment rubbed me the wrong way, but again, it didn't really sound like he excoriated the organization, as is being implied.
  8. No winning team will be ever be built around Luis Robert. LOL.
  9. Crochet wasn't traded because of perceived "cheapness", but you just keep posting that every 15 minutes.
  10. They traded him because they're in a rebuild and needed the offensive players they could get in return. This particular player doesn't really have anything to do with Reinsdorf's "cheapness". BTW, Reinsdorf paid Buehrle, Sale and Quintana. So, RIP to that canard.
  11. They don't really do Tommy John surgery for a hamstring tweak, but you could always hope.
  12. So it makes pitchers feel better if the player kicking the ball around has been doing it longer?
  13. Still waiting for you to name one GM who had no losing seasons while completely overhauling the organization.
  14. I so want to belong to the cool squad, so please clear this up for me. Guys like Oscar Colas should be playing on the big league team to "see what we have", but Brooks Baldwin shouldn't be learning how to play LF and RF in the bigs because it's demoralizing for the pitchers when he makes a mental miscue, but somehow, miscues by guys like Oscar Colas or somebody like Al Canario make pitchers feel better?
  15. Maybe you'll have an answer to my question by 2027.
  16. Nick Maton is on the team because Brandon Drury broke his thumb. Travis Jankowski got a few platoon starts because Mike Tauchman was injured. Matt Thaiss plays more than Korey Lee for the same reason they call LHHs the "strong" side of a platoon. There are more righties in the game than lefties. You have no point to prove. The Sox have to play the games on their schedule. They don't have the talent at the upper levels to fill the big league roster. So they signed cheap 30-year-olds, a noted market inefficiency. And seriously, correcting your weird hyperbole isn't "kissing ass".
  17. Where do you come up with this stuff? I follow the team. When they're uninteresting, I tune out. I find the rebuild interesting. I don't know why you guys need me to buy into this good/bad binary, where I cry when it's "bad", and grumpily avoid acknowledging the "good". I'm not even really a Getz "fan". I groaned when he was promoted, but it's not like they picked a guy from the wilderness, had to teach him how to speak, and then made him GM. I've acknowledged moves I didn't like, then I move on. I don't need to post on every active string every day that I hated the Maldonado and Clevenger signings. Not doing that seems to register as supporting and liking those moves. I'd expect the Sox to be trending towards a .500 team next year. Feel free to take a victory lap after every single loss.
  18. No, actually, I really don't complain about Reinsdorf's spending, and I actually believe that he spends when they're competitive. My question is why do you guys need my approval to validate your complaints about Getz? Like, when I finally give up and start complaining about Getz, you all will finally know that you were right?
  19. I answer this every single time it's asked. You must not read the comments, here. When the prospects get a full season on the pro team, then I will be looking for them to start winning. When they're still trying to filter out the bad players under contract, when they're still operating under a teeny tiny budget because they don't really have a RSN deal, yet, and while they're still in year 2 of their rebuild, I'm not going to scream about every single loss. As far as "holding Getz accountable", what does that even look like? Do I buy the White Sox and fire him? Are you expecting me to get online and scream about every single move he makes and doesn't make? Complaining irrationally isn't "holding someone accountable". So I'll ask you, when will you start to hold Getz accountable, because you haven't, as of yet.
  20. Wait a minute!!! Are you saying that two guys who can prop up their phone and make videos of themselves talking about things ALSO posted a graphic on the internet? Why didn't you say you were referencing such credible sources?!? LOL. It's a rebuild, and his budget was cut. I've already asked you to show me some rebuilds other GMs have conducted where they only went to the playoffs every year of the rebuild. The pitching rotation is 4 rookies. Does that make you happy? Four of their regular starters have less than 2 years' service time. Why aren't you happy about that? 5 of the 8 bullpen arms start the season with less than 2 years' service time. Benintendi and Robert have guaranteed contracts, and they have to produce to get traded. You're basically complaining about Matt Thaiss and Nick Maton getting starts, and Travis Jankowski getting platoon starts in the first 12 games. So basically, Getz is starting as many rookies from the organization that can play baseball right now. Making sense really isn't your strong suit.
  21. He actually has made a bunch of changes since Lynn was last in the Sox organization. I'm not in town, and don't want to use up my minutes streaming video. Does Lynn talk about how his disastrous last 2 seasons in Chicago helped get everybody fired?
