  1. I don't really give credit to Hahn for the Sale, Eaton, and Q trades. Any GM can trade players like that and get great prospects back. We are doing okay this season but we could have been much better if Hahn spent money more wisely and kept Avi.
  2. 1.Moncada 2. Andeson 3. Jimenez 4. Abreu 6. McCann 6. Leury. Eloy is getting hot but he has no protection with the junk bats hitting behind him. I would like to see him batting 3rd with all the best bats put to the top of the order.
  3. Has Bummer ever said what he changed to get the velocity he has now? I don't remember him being a hard thrower last season.
  4. I can't wait get another prospect from one of these "flip" trades that will go into the system and no one will ever hear about again.
  5. I don't remember him hitting 98-99MPH in April either.
  6. If he is a placeholder why did they sign him an extension prior to this season?
  7. Did you watch those games? He came close to blowing many of those saves.
  8. I've been championing Leury the past few seasons when he was being benched for Engel. Everyone hated Engel starting CF but most fans where under the impression that Engel was our only option despite Leury sitting on the bench. It was really not fair the way the team screwed Leury the past few seasons for Engel considering how much better he was when he played. Leury won the starter role in 2017 and was doing good then got injured. They brought Engel up, his bat was atrocious but he made some good catches so when Leury came back they stuck with Engel in center. 2018 starts and Engel gets the starter role despite putting up a -.8 WAR in 97 games the previous season compared to Leury's 1.2 WAR in 87 games (going by baseball-reference). It annoyed me how very few fans realized how ridiculous it was for Engel to be starting when Leury was available. This year has been his first chance to start again since the first half of 2017.
  9. Robin was never as bad as Ricky. He was just a scapegoat for bad White Sox teams. My issue with Ricky isn't that the White Sox are losing.
  10. Great, we will "flip" another player and get a prospect or 2 who will go into our system and no one will ever hear about them again.
  11. I liked Narvaez and wanted him to stay. I would prefer Omar through 2023 than 2 years of Colome.
  12. According to this Omar is 11th best pitch framer in the game while continuing his offensive surge that was happening during his White Sox years. https://sodomojo.com/2019/05/23/mariners-narvaez-best-season-team-history/
  13. The whole team is being schooled by Verlander but of course people want to single out the rookie whose been in the MLB for a little over a month.
  14. I continue to be baffled by how quickly White Sox fans have soured on Eloy because isn't hitting like Manny Rameriez after a month into his career. I was someone who was worried about Moncada but that was after he struggled and looked awful for months. People making conclusion about Eloy right now so early in his career is ridiculous. Mark my words you will all look foolish within a year.
  15. Some of you seem to think that was an easy play a CF should catch. I doesn't matter who is in CF that ball in unlikely to be caught.
  16. Eloy should be with the White Sox. I don't understand the point of rehab assignments unless a guy was out for a very long time. Who cares if it takes a few games to find his groove. It really would make no difference if he joined the MLB team after coming off the DL instead of having to play a week in AAA.
  17. I would understand this "he had one good season" logic if his good season was many years ago but it wasn't. It was 2017 and he struggled with injuries in 2018 yet showed a lot more power. I posted on another White Sox forum when the Sox got rid of him that I expected him to put together the high average of 2017 and power of 2018 for his 2019 season if he stays healthy. Him having a great season is not surprising at all to me.
  18. Delmonico batting 2nd.... It seems like Ricky just picks names out of a hat to make the line ups sometimes. I wish we were a normal team with a set line up. The only consistent part of our line up is Abreu 3rd and Alonso 4th.
  19. Did you read the article? Because it contradicts what you just wrote.
  20. Where can I find these stats? Are these sacrifice bunts to move runners along or guys bunting for hits? There is a difference. Sac bunts occur late in close games with guys on base. Even if the bunter is thrown out it is considered a success. Bunting for hits happens at anytime in a game and often when no one is on base. I don't have a problem with fast guys occasionally laying down a bunt to get on base. I don't like rally killing bunts in close late inning games.
  21. The problem is that Ricky does this every close game. I wouldn't have an issue if it was only an occasional occurrence. He is the one being predicable and going against the odds every game. That needs to be stopped.
  22. https://www.danblewett.com/run-expectancy-bunting-bad/ Bunting never increases the odds of scoring, only lessens them. It can only be rationalize with a truly awful hitter at the plate like a pitcher. Have you noticed we almost never see other teams sac bunting when playing them. The rest of baseball is now aware of this and have stopped. Yet we have a manager who will bunt every time we get runners on in a late inning close game.
