I don't remember the exact details of the article, but there was an article a few years ago about how Pettis' head wasn't all in on football. He wanted to be a reality TV star or something outside of football. He's a guy who has always had talent, he's just gotta dedicate himself to the game. Maybe a few years of humble pie might get him going. Fully expect him to be WR5.

Super Bears. Super Bowl.

Your what hurts?

10 TDs might be a bit extreme, but 800 yards is doable IMO. If you take away the Baltimore shitshow (weather) and the Cincy game that Fields didn't start, Kmet averaged 37 yards per game with Fields as his QB.... To get to 800 yards over a 17 week schedule he would need to average a whole 40 ypg. I can absolutely see him averaging even 60 ypg which would put him at 1020. I just think, with Fields and Kmet working out together in the offseason, that Justin will look to him way more often and he becomes the clear #2 option on this team..
-
At this point, the organization should be looking at any and all players they think have potential. Leatherwood was awful last year, but I'd absolutely take a chance on him if he hits the market.
-
I'm hoping with both Schofield and Reiff, it's just a case of them joining camp so late. I have no problem with them giving both Borom and Jenkins a short leash with vets behind them.
-
No Jimmie Ward for the 9ers in the Bears game. This further makes me wanna throw some money on the Bears. Ward is their tight end eraser and like I said, I think Kmet has a breakout year....I don't think Lance is ready to be a good starting NFL QB and the 9ers run game lost a lot. I think they're gonna struggle offensively and Ward being out is a huge hit to the defense.
-
Matt Bowen predicting Cole Kmet has a breakout year. To me, he's the key to this offense. Mooney is gonna get his, if healthy, I absolutely see him getting 1,250+ yards. If Kmet can put up 800+ yards and close to 10 TDs, the offense won't be atrocious.
-
I still wanna believe in Jenkins. Idk what happened during camp, but if he's starting over Schofield at RG I think thats very encouraging since he was not drafted by this group and Schofield isn't bad.
-
With a top 10 pick next year, you'd have to think they go WR... ya know, unless Mooney takes yet another step, Velus shows a ton, and Pringle keeps consistently getting separation. Maybe not likely, but I still think there's potential there. Hoping Jones is a legit LT so they are looking at either WR or DT in the draft.

Glad to hear the Roquan thing got cleared up for now at least. Bears are gonna have a boat load of cash next year and I can't imagine they don't resign him. Hopefully Poles told him, "Hey man, you stick around and play like the best linebacker in football this year and we will pay you as so." I'm ready to see what this team has this year. I'm actually really excited to see how this draft class performs. Probably the most excited I've been in awhile.

Ope. There are still a few vets out there with a bit of intrigue. Suh, Linval Joseph, and Sheldon Richardson are all still out there. Reaching a bit here but as rotational pieces they could be useful.
-
Yeah, the pass rush is really the thing that kinda scares me the most. More specifically DT. I've heard, moderately good things outta camp about Justin Jones, but I'm still not sure he's nothing more than a quality nose in a 4-3. Mario Edwards is someone I hoped to hear good things about as I think he has the best skill set to play the 3T but I'm not sure I've heard anything about him. The Colts last year were a top 10 defense and they didn't really get to the QB all that much, at least as far as sack numbers go. Their top 2 guys managed a whole 13 sacks. Their number 2 guy, AQ Muhammad, is now a Bear. If Gipson proves to be an emerging player and Dom Robinson gives them a little something, I think having a solid rotation of guys could keep Quinn fresh as he ages. I almost wish the Bears would have asked Gipson to put on some weight and see how he does as the 3T. I wonder if they ever revisit the Bengals 3T they signed and had to rescind the offer due to medical.

I think Reiff starting is kind of a foregone conclusion honestly. Patrick should be back for the opener I believe.
-
It looks awful on paper, but I took the over in wins. I may be alone on this and that's fine. I don't think they're going to make a playoff push or anything but I can certainly see 7 wins. I believe in the youth across the board.

White Sox 6 No Hit IP for Kopech Winner !
scs787 replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I know no one wants to believe it can happen, but if the Sox do back into the playoffs, will Kopech still be able to pitch or will he get Strasburghed? I know from following this board, a lot of hay has been made about how much resources have been put into the pen, but when your 2 best pitchers are Cease, who struggles to get past 6 innings, and Kopech who is on an innings limit, a strong, deep bullpen is a must have. -
Maybe "Above average" is pushing it, but I do think they have a chance to be not terrible. It all really hinges on Jones being solid. Whitehair, Patrick, Schofield, and Reiff have all proven to be starting quality average-above average offensive linemen. It's just a matter of all of those guys meshing and working together.
-
Ehhhh, I think they'll at the very least be better than last year. To me everything rides on Braxton Jones. If he's the goods like all the reports outta training camp say he is, the line will be above average. Rieff and Schofield are very new and it'll take a bit of time for the whole line to gel. I'm not sure if I said it here, but I definitely said it over on talkbears.com, yes that's a thing guys, but Tresten Ebner is my offensive surprise of this season. I think he's gonna earn a big role very quickly and give the Bears healthy Cohen type numbers.
-
I didn't even think to think of it like that, which is sad on my part. Lol. Yeah listing EQ as the #2 over Pringle merely means EQ Pringle is the slot. I still expect/hope Pringle to be more of a factor. Their running game cam be really, really legit. I can see all 3 of Monty, Herbert, and Ebner getting carries.
-
How nice would it be if Braxton Jones ends up being a really good LT? If he is that line can actually be pretty damn good. Pringle is either making me look really stupid or things have finally clicked with EQ, which would be another win.
-
This whole conversation makes me sad. I feel like it was not that long ago that Hahn was a fucking God here. The trades of Sale/Q/Eaton were HUGE, until they weren't. If Moncada and Eloy lived up to their potential this team is easily a playoff contender. The collapse of those 2 has just been devastating to this organization and I'm not sure how much of that you can put on Hahn. Pretty much everyone and their mommas thought these 2 were MVP caliber players. Should he have gone done more? Absolutely. But man, those 2 guys having the injury history they have had and not performing like they can has made Hahn look really, really bad.
-
It still sorta baffles me that Duane Brown and Eric Fisher are still free agents. I still think the Bears need to sign one of them. Schofield is a good pickup and I would not be surprised if he ends up starting. Whitehair is solid. I still wanna believe Jenkins can be a good RT. Green Bay center guy(Whose name obviously escapes me) is also a good football player.

Marko dropped 27/13 in summer league. He's up to 240 pounds from 215. It'd be a nice little surprise if he turns into a guy.
-
Except they were connected to Galinari, who would of pushed them into the tax. Sadly it's the same old song old dance of they tried and guys just went elsewhere. This class kinda sucked anyway.

Alright...I'm going there..... What about Melo?
