  1. I think it really boils down to one word.....Speed. Not that Tolbert was slow by any means, but we're talking 4.31 vs 4.49. All off-season speed was a word got thrown around a ton.
  2. Or he's committed to taking his best pick available which is what most GMs tend to preach. The Jones pick though....This kinda feels Pace-esque, but hopefully he's more right than Pace was.....Jones reminds me a lot of Mecole Hardmon. A guy projected to go much later that KC took in the 2nd round. Both were looked at as more of a return guy and both have elite speed (4.33 for Mecole and 4.31 for Velus.) So with that comp the Bears now have Pringle and their version of Hardmon. Now we just need Mooney to turn into Tyreke Hill. Lol.
  3. I like Velus but I thought you could get him later. Speed was a thing both Poles and Flus have talked about and boy does he have it. 4.31 40 time at the Combine. This feels like a "I'm gonna outsmart everyone pick" and I hope they are right. You can't teach speed. Between him and Mooney you have a TON of speed. This is gonna open things up for Kmet and Montgomery who I expect to play even bigger roles in the passing game.
  4. Ehhhh I'll wait till the end off the off-season to complain. There's still a lot that can be done to give Fields all he needs to be a quality NFL QB.
  5. I still think they bring in Brown or Fisher for LT and can probably get an OG in the 3rd. Giving Fields time to throw and not get killed is just as important as getting him weapons.
  6. I guess you can't really get mad at going BPA. Corner and safety were both big needs. I would have preferred they went the Xavier Rhodes route but Gordon is a legit 1st round talent. Brisker is a really solid versatile safety who is gonna be able to do a lot on the field. Secondary is gonna be legit.
  7. Same! I'm just gonna throw this out there just to make chisoxfn mad, Byron Pringle was the tallest WR on a highly potent KC offense that Poles came from. Byron Pringle is obviously all the height you need for a successful offense....Also Kmet > Kelce.
  8. Ehhhh, I'm definitely known to be overly optimistic but I do like to back it up. I don't recall who else I've been overly confident about and wrong about as far as wide receivers go, but I'm sure I probably have been. Allow me to fix my last post though. I said they don't necessarily need to spend a day 2 pick....I meant round 2. I think they can find a guy in round 3 who can contribute to what they need. I think your suggestion of Landry AND a 2nd round pick is a bit much.
  9. I was unaware that Pickens and Fields have known each other since high school. They were in a 7 on 7 camp put on by Cam Newton. I've been of the opinion that the Bears don't necessarily need to spend a day 2 pick on a WR, but i do like the fact that they already have a relationship. Pickens has character concerns so maybe Fields can keep him in check.
  10. Raimann is a little intriguing. I want Duane Brown, but if they're high on Raimann and think he can play LT at a high level, I wouldn't be opposed to that being the pick. If they really like a guard and think he fits perfectly in the system I have no issues with them taking him in the 2nd.
  11. With Cole Strange going in the 1st, it may not be a bad idea to go OG either. Dylan Pharam might not be too early a pick at 39. One guy that everyone loved as a late round pick that has just skyrocketed into day 2 considerations is Zach Tom. He was a guy a lot of people were mocking in the 5th that I could now see going as early as the Bears 2nd pick. I like him a lot.
  12. As much as I wouldn't be a fan of it, I think the possibility exists they draft a corner just because the need and value is there. One name that never gets talked about, probably because he's listed as an edge, that kinda intrigues me as a 3T is Josh Pashsal. He's a little undersized weight wise, but I love what I've read about him. He's got longggg arms and great burst....He's been an after thought and perhaps still should be, but color me intrigued. Not sure I'm willing to take him at 39, but as a trade back or with their 2nd pick if they don't go 3T at 39, I'm listening.
  13. I don't think you have to do both honestly. That may just be me being high on Pringle, but I don't think you need to add 2 starting WRs. Mooney is gonna eat up a ton of targets, I think the RBs and TEs get a lot of targets as well. Going 4 deep on higher end WRs isn't necessary IMO. I think they go Logan Hall at 39 and OG with their 2 2nd round picks. Seattle going LT is a good sign that Brown is gone, go get him.
  14. Williams is gonna be training with DDR this off-season. Going through a program DDR learned from Kobe. Here's hoping there's a lesson in developing a killer instinct like Kobe had. Oh, and don't not shoot pointers guys. Also, I like this.
  15. Would you guys trade a 5th round pick for Robby Anderson? Obviously a lot of quality WRs in the draft, but getting a legit starter for a 5th allows the bears to address their other needs early.
  16. Bears signed WR David Moore. Mildly interesting dude who, excluding last year, had 13 TDs in over a 3 year stretch with Seattle. 6 of those came in 2020 on a team with DK and Lockett. I'm not gonna go full Byron Pringle on you guys and say this guy is gonna be good when he's not behind 2 studs, but it looks to be a solid depth move and a guy you feel really comfortable calling a 4 or a 5.
  17. Linderbaum would be a reallllly nice get..... I've had Raimann fall to me a few times in the new PFF update and while I would realllly prefer a vet LT, his potential may be too much to pass on.
  18. I realllly want a DT at some point if possible. PFF updated their big board and there's some drastic changes. I think Logan Hall is a stud and a potential 1st rounder...they have him ranked 73rd, which makes my mocks taking him at 39 a little silly, but I'm gonna stand by it..... Here's someone who agrees with me on that and a guy who likes Danny Gray whom I really like as well IF they go with 2 WRs in the draft. Gray CA come in and be a returner then develop into a weapon later on... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/nfl-draft-2022-superlatives-prospect-wholl-instantly-live-up-to-the-hype-qb-wholl-go-too-early-and-more/amp/
  19. I think TLR is just trying to appease to the masses that call Leury "Leury Legend." Sox fans obviously love the guy. I'm with Stone though. Wayyyyy to early for doom and gloom.
  20. Honestly? I'm OK with that. I'm gonna be alone on this for the most part, but I really think Mooney can make a jump into true #1 territory and I truly believe Pringle can be a good #2. I also think we see Kmet and Monty used a lot more in the passing game. Mooneys best ability is getting down the field and creating separation. He actually ranked 6th in the league in separation. With an improved offensive line, he's gonna be able to work more down field and really utilize his speed. Like I said before, I'd be totally OK with them waiting till day 3 to pick a WR. I really hope they pick up Brown or Fisher, but if they don't, I'd be fine going OT-DT-OG with the first 3 picks. A rookie LT, not drafted in the 1st round, scares the dickens out of me, but I suppose it is what it is.
  21. Still a pretty solid group of free agents left and the Bears still have a good chunk of money to throw out there. OL: Tretter, Williams, Fisher, Brown, Reiff, Shell, Flowers, Turner, Crosby, Quessenberry, Paradis WR: Beckham, Jones, Landry, Fuller, Beasley, Hilton, Sanders, Snead, Cole, Humphries, Sharpe CB: Harris, Fuller, Callahan, Rhodes, Sherman, Haden, Deisr, Bouye, Trufant, Alford, Carrie S: Mathieu, Collins, McCourty, Edmunds, Kazee, Tartt, Gipson DL: Richardson, Hicks, Ogunjobi, Lotulelei, Joseph LB: Johnson, Van Noy, Barr, Collins, Hightower, Wright, Hitchens, Smith, Kwiatkoski
  22. If I had to bet, theyre gonna be bad, but there is an outside chance they can be "Good" if they have a strong draft and add a few more pieces via FA. I think if they add Brown or Fisher and one of the many free agent corners theyre gonna be solid....first 3 picks if the draft falls right you get your explosive 3T, a guard, and I suppose a WR(lol). Assuming healthy of course, which isn't something that should be assumed. Depth is probably gonna be an issue.
  23. I don't wanna see them go too overboard here. Plenty of holes to be filled. I really like Pringle and Poles coming from the Cheifs knows him pretty well. I also see Mooney taking another jump with the work he's put in with Fields and hopefully and improved line that allows him to work more down field. When the packers had the #1 offense in the league in 2020 the RBs caught 90 balls and their tight ends caught 75. I see Monty and Kmet being a big part of things in the passing game and doing really well in doing so.
  24. Is Tyler Lockett a #1? I'm making the comp now, Byron Pringle will have a Tyler Lockett-esque career from here on out. Both guys are outta K State, it took Lockett a little time to really break out. Both guys are legit deep threats without huge speed. Pringle averaged 24.1 YPC at K State. He went undrafted because of troubles with the law and entered the NFL in a crowded situation in KC with 2 hall of famers in Hill/Kelce. I would not be upset if the Bears waited a bit longer than people want on WR in this draft.
  25. Poles spoke about getting smaller on the OL since they're moving to a wide zone blocking scheme, so if that's too be believed I would say Faalele is out of the question.
