Yeah I hope Javonte is ok. Dudes quitely playing some much better offensive basketball lately. He hadn't scored more than 15 points in a game all season, and he's had 4 such games in his last 8. He's not a 4 though and I wonder if he becomes an even better all around piece if he's not forced to battle bigger players night in and night out. Lots of good ball movement today. Real nice win.

Good question. He doesn't carry bird rights correct? I think Billy really likes him and I can definitely see him back next year. The more I read about Mike Muscala, I really hope he gets bought out and the bulls bring him in. He's one of the best 3 point shooting bigs in the league and he's actually a very solid defender. I was reading an article from a month ago about how he ranked 3rd in EPM(Expected Plus Minus) and the OKC defense when he was on the floor had the highest defensive rating in the league. He's not quite like what the Bulls have had out there at the 4 this season, but I don't think that really matters as they had been looking at the guy from the Spurs and Millsap before that.

Kind of a bummer, but if a big becomes available on the buyout market, that's a win. I wonder what they think about Coby long term. With Lavine, Ball, Caruso, and Ayo they can't possibly think about bringing him back can they? Sign and trade? I suppose you could keep around as an offensive spark, but that just depends on how over the cap they wanna go.
-
Dragic sounds like a lock for the Mavs. He woulda been nice to have while the bulls are getting healthy, but if they're not trading Coby, he's not really a need come playoff time.
-
All the guards!!

For some reason I thought he was already bought out weeks ago. That 4 team trade takes out a couple options in Ibaka, Bagley, and probably Holmes now as well. Hopefully that Dragic for Thad trade is a double buyout and Thad gets in the picture for the Bulls. Mike Muscala is an underrated target who could be a fit whose name hasn't been brought up.

Like Quin alluded to, the team can build more around Zach if they wait till the off-season. If they sign him now they can't do much of anything in free agency. If they wait, they can sign guys and then go over the cap to resign him.....I don't worry about Zach at all. Bulls will have 13mil in cap space. If they wait to sign Zach, they can use that space and then sign Zach. If they sign him now they will have zero cap space. Vuc is a wait and see guy.

If the Bulls can't land a big, do you give Millsap a shot? I keep hearing about the buyout market, but when does that start happening?

Never heard of him either. A quick YouTube and Google search makes me a fan. I woulda liked another stretchy guy who can shoot the 3 but Holmes looks like a good twitchy big who can get some bunnies in transition and protect the rim.

Davonte Adams would certainly be a fun little dream to have. I think the Bears can create about 60ish mill in cap space. Right now DeAndre Hopkins has the highest cap hit among WRs at 25 mill. Let's say Adams costs them 27. That's still 33 mill in cap space.

That 1-11 vs top 5 seeds stat I saw has given me some serious pause on this team. I still think if you can trade guys like Troy Brown Jr. and Coby(who is a free agent next year I believe) you do it. I'm not sure I'm ready to go alllll in with the Portland pick and Williams. Trading Vuc is an interesting proposition, but man, that feels hard to do for a team that has been in 1st place for a large portion of the year.
-
That Portland pick looks bad right now. When is it not protected?
-
I think I'd go $30 Orlando Brown Jr. OT $10 Ben Jones OC $10 Kyle Fuller CB 2R- Davonte Wyatt DL 3R- Jalen Tolbert WR
-
Soooo things are pretty slow right now, so I thought I'd put together a fun little game. Let's pretend the Bears have 50 million in cap space and this is how the cap numbers for each player are.....How are you spending it? You can also add in whoever else at $5 dollars a pop. (I didn't wanna stretch this out and put in guys like Von Miller because I assume we are set at DE) $50- WR Davonte Adams $40 OT Terron Armstead WR Chris Goodwin CB J.C. Jackson S Marcus Williams $30 LT Orlando Brown Jr. WR Allen Robinson, Odell, Christian Kirk CB Carlton Davis DT Akeem Hicks C Brian Allen $20 WR Mike Williams, Michael Gallop CB Stephon Gillmore LT Cam Robinson C Bradley Bozeman DT Sheldon Richardson $10 LT Eric Fisher WR Sammy Watkins CB Kyle Fuller C Ryan Jenson/Ben Jones NOW....After you're done, let's see your 2nd and 3rd round picks. Let's assume it shakes out like this mock here... https://www.draftcountdown.com/2022-nfl-draft/2022-7-round-nfl-mock-draft-7-0-round-1-3-shane/ Feel free to go further than the 3rd round if you're feeling froggy. I'll be posting mine after I give it more thought.

Schroeder for TBJ then Coby for a PF would be a huge win. Schroeder fits in to what the Bulls do defensively and really there's not much of a drop off offensively. As for Williams, I think it's fairly obvious that all's he gotta do is learn to be more aggressive, and I think that's something that can and will happen.
-
Yup! Bears are gonna have to do some work in free agency. I really hope they can get 2 of LT/WR/CB addressed in FA with premier players. Those are the 3 big needs IMO.
-
Man. Not having a 1R pick sucks. I woulda loved to trade down a bit and give Fields a Burrow/Chase combo set up with Olave.
-
Yeah no one's stopping those guys, we can only hope to contain them. It's an extremely small sample size, but according to statmuse, KD, in 2 games vs Williams is only averaging 16/7/6. Again it's just 2 games but man, if he can come in and keep him around 20 a game, that's huge.....PW has one game against Giannis and he put up 29.
-
Sun Times reporting there is belief PWill will return before the playoffs. If he can get his legs under him enough to be a KD/Giannis container that's huge.
-
Coming from Indy where they had a really good OL, I hope all signs continue to point towards the Bears really emphasize the OL this year. They have to....right?? Getting that right is the biggest thing to me. Fields isn't gonna tap into his potential without it.
-
I highly doubt it happens but after trading a first round pick for him, Orlando Brown Jr. is a free agent and the Chiefs are gonna have cap issues. He's gotta be the top target if they can't resign him. Let Jenkins and Borum battle for RT. Center needs to be upgraded too. Eric Fisher will be a free agent as well and I could see him being a lower cost potentially high reward signing a year after his injury.
-
Poles coming from the Chiefs org and seeing how that team fell apart in the super bowl without their 2 tackles and seeing what they did in the draft and free agency gives me great hope that they really end up addressing the line and finally get that right.
-
I'm still not 100% that he's the guy I want, probably because I'm looking too much into his rebound numbers, but if he wants to be here, they can make it work long term. He's still under contract for next year and Vucs contract is up in 2 years. They can go over the cap to sign Lavine next season.
-
Rough stuff man. At least Lavine is coming back and they have some depth with Coby and Ayo. If Ayo and Coby play like the had been before the Bucks game, I think they'll be alright. Side bar, I really wish the Bulls could find a way to get Thad back. Couldn't they hypothetically do a 3 team deal where Thad gets sent to a team and they buy him out so he could go to the Bulls? Bulls can't sign him if the Spurs buy him out correct?
