Ya I wanted to say that I thought they said it affect LHH more, but wasn't sure.

Is it right handed or left handed hitters that really struggle in Seattle. I heard something about how the batters eye affects one side of the plate more then the other. The Mariners offense is actually not very good at home. Much better on the road.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
CBJ03 replied to ChiSoxFanMike's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I may be in the minority but I have no issue with them keeping Luis. They have nothing committed to payroll next year and no one knocking at the door to be an every day CFer. Also, I would consider keeping him through the end of his contract. If they aren’t contending for the division in 2 years with the talent they have already acquired then what was the point of it all. And if the offers are crap why would you move him for the hope that some of the players even make the majors let alone have the defensive and base running ability Luis has. -

Not sure what Vasil's long term is with the Sox, but he is an incredibly likeable player. I hope he's around for a while. -

Its nice to see Fegan confirm that Montgomery using a torpedo bat is a recent development. I asked a week or so ago if anyone notice when he switched and it looks like he did it during the Colorado series. Maybe it will make a significant difference for him. -

Did anyone notice or know when Montgomery went to the torpedo bat? -
Vasil seems like great interview and just a funny guy. He very quickly shot down the idea that the Sox are behind in technology. I know he probably wouldnt say anything other then that but he did give specific examples.

I agree. The one on the knee cap he had no chance to avoid.
-
I actually think he was rushed in a lot of ways. '21 he played in 26 games in AZ. '22 he played in 96 games reaching AA for 14 games. '23 he played 64 games with only 37 games at AA. Last year was the most games he played at 130 all in AAA. To me, as a HS drafted player to only play 51 games at AA over 2 seasons seems like some development was skipped at those levels. Also, not all development is linear. Even this year, he has the horrid start, goes to AZ comes back and looks better. He then proceeds to get hit with a fastball on the knee cap and then a few days later gets hit in the hand. I know no one else really pointed anything out, so maybe it was just me, but it looked like his hand was still bothering him some up until recently. I thought I noticed him many times shaking has hand off after foul balls as if he was still in some discomfort.

Colson homered on the first pitch he saw today. Now its starting to get interesting again .
-
If some of these younger starters hit such as Schutlz, Smith, McDougal, Oppor, along with guys like Thorpe and Adams coming back, its hard to imagine how he fits into the long term plans.
-
His curve has some nasty movement on it.
-
Colson with a triple of his own off a lefty.
-
Baldwin has two HRs and a triple tonight.
-
They just need to nuke it and put Chase at SS, Colson at 3B, Sosa or Baldwin at 2B and Vargas at 1B. No more Capra,
