FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, June 30, 2023 WHITE SOX RECALL CARLOS PÉREZ FROM CLASS AAA CHARLOTTE; OPTION ADAM HASELEY TO CHARLOTTE OAKLAND – Prior to tonight’s series opener at Oakland, the Chicago White Sox optioned outfielder Adam Haseley to Class AAA Charlotte and recalled catcher Carlos Pérez from Charlotte. Pérez is hitting .246/.305/.434 (56-228) with 10 doubles, 11 home runs, 29 RBI, 16 walks and 27 runs scored in 59 games with Charlotte. He appeared in three games during his first stint with the White Sox from May 7-13, going 1-4 (.250). Haseley is hitting .222 (8-36) with two doubles, two RBI and six runs scored in 28 games over two stints with Chicago.

Perez recalled and Hasley send down. Interesting.

Here are their infielders on the 40 man. Who else should they have called up? They were hancuffed with who they could call up without having to make another transaction. He missed a week of playing time, not a month.

He was only called up because Sosa was on the IL and Popeye was already on the 40 man.

Popeye should be playing instead of Andrus while he's up. He wont be worse.

Gavin Sheets-The Gift that keeps on giving.

I cant stand Sheets being on this team. There is no player I want gone more then him. What is he currently providing that Colas couldn't? At least with Colas there's mystery as to what he could be, Sheets has shown to be exactly what he is over and over again.

At least Santos has been impressive.

I know I'm in the minority here but I actually like him. Having someone in the lineup with a plan and who doesn't fluctuate every other week is such a nice change from everyone else.

Somehow they are top 11 in least amount of DPs. However, they lead the league in groundouts.

One large reason they have struggled to score runs is Zeby, Burger, Andrus, and Sheets having been playing a lot at the same time. They all really offer nothing to merit being in the lineup every day, especially Sheets who does nothing well.

Or not.

Why do they keep forcing Lopez into high leverage situations? He continues to fail every time they ask him to do it.

Yas is having a nice season at the plate. The power hasn’t been there but he’s hitting the ball hard again. Two balls over 107 tonight.
