  1. Did you know he made a swing change at the end of last April?
  2. They need to stop trying to get bottom of the roster guys ABs and just leave guys at their best position.
  3. I actually hate that I don’t hate it. I was prepared to and I don’t.
  4. Its amazing how little posting happens when the Sox are in the lead.
  5. Not even a bad pitch.
  6. He’s out of options so something has to be done with him. I’m sure they were just kind of taking time through spring to see where they were at. Once Teel got hurt and was going to miss some time, it then seems like they’ll have shifted to Edgar catching most of the time now. Lee is probably good enough that you can get something through a trade for him so do that and then McGuire helps out until Teel is ready then figure out what to do with him when Teel is back. If that’s the thinking then I understand it.
  7. Does this mean Lee is gone? Has to right?
  8. They attributed it to the fact that he grew some. Its tendonitis not shoulder reconsturction.
  9. I mean what positions are you really trying to fill? Are people really that upset if they start the year with Teel/Quero, Meidroth/Sosa, C. Montgomery, Vargas, Bennentendi, Robert as the guys getting most of the playing time? Im just not sure who would want to play here and fits a position of need? Is Cody Bellinger interested in playing 1b or RF here? Is Schwarber looking to DH here? I mean I get people are upset they arent spending but they arent in a position to rosterwise where they can attract real FA's who require significant contracts. I'd rather watch all the young guys play everyday while they sort out the rotation with who can hack it from Martin, Smith, McDougal, Burke, Cannon, Thorpe, Adams, Schultz, H. Smith, Bush, Vasil.
  10. I was just pointing out that there will most likely be some combination of those guys will fill out the 5 rotation spots. What that looks like, who knows?
  11. Eventually they will be replaced by a combination of Taylor, Smith, Schultz, McDougal, Adams, Bush or Thorpe. Guys that are interesting and could join in the mix in the next couple of years include Oppor, LaCombe, and Larson. Guys that could be backend guys like Shane Murphy.
  12. That Buxton ball should've been caught. Just an awful read and route.

I could be wrong but I don’t remember him having any trouble getting inside pitches to righties. The single in the first by the righty was a jam shot.

I don’t think he struggled at all. I thought he looked pretty good. The first inning he gave up two weak seeing eye singles with two outs then they stole home on bad defense. He gave up a few hits in the 2nd but breezed through the third. Was throwing lots of strikes.
  15. You think they lose 100 games the next two years? If thats the case why not trade anything thats not bolted down? At some point this team needs to start winning games. I honestly dont know why having someone contribute to that even if you lose them for nothing is not as viable an option as trying for a lottery pick in a trade.
  16. Why try and trade him this winter? Does the possible return really make you better? So they can spend $12 million on someone else as a stop gap who isn't as good? I'm not saying that's not the plan. It was the point of my original post was to view it through the lens of why do you have to trade him. Why is he not part of the future moving forward even if its just two years? Love the future sox work. Appreciate all you guys do.
  17. But that’s kind of feeds into my questions? What are you losing by gambling on him for two years? A gamble in a trade? Like if he’s just ok for the next two years and his contract expires how does that hurt you really? Hes still a valuable player even if he’s nothing more then he is right now again.
  18. I’m interested in what everyone thinks about what would or should be done with Robert. I feel as though he is constantly treated as though he has to be gone and there’s absolutely no chance he’s on the next competitive White Sox team so all talk about his future is viewed through that lens. What if Robert who is only 27 has started to break out of the bad habits he formed at the plate the last few years playing for absolute dog crap teams where he was the only threat in the lineup? What if he returns to the Robert of two years ago? What if he has a better season than that? Is he then worth holding on to for his entire contact? At some point you need to start wining at the Major League level. The kids that have come up need to learn how to win. You have got to get out of the losing culture that has surrounded this club. There’s no doubt in my mind Robert will help you do that over the next two years. Especially considering you have no one in the minors who is even remotely ready to be an every day CFer. If you keep him and he’s outstanding and you have to pay a 28 year old premium money, who’s to say in two years Ishbia isn’t the owner of this team and is willing to resign him? I know this is kinda of a topic I’m sure most people already have a firm opinion on, but I like it as a thought exercise.
  19. I wonder if he just got fed up with losing and playing with Moncada and Eloy.
  20. If anyone has a chance to post the video Brooke Fletcher tweeted out after Luis's HR. You can tell that he really likes playing with Colson. Maybe Colson saves Roberts career haha.
  21. Does anyone know what percentage of inherited runners is for this team? It seems like if these guys start the inning clean they tend to kind of be average for a bullpen but if they have to come in with guys on they just can’t find their way out clean and it just snowballs.
  22. Vasil and Taylor for sure. Wilson is fine in like the 6/7 inning role. Alexander has been ok. But Pallete and Winklemman should be up.
  23. Someone on twitter suggested Cubs, Brewers, Cubs, Cards and the more I thought about it I decided I actually liked it. Everyone would hate the Cubs and the Cubs would hate everyone. It would make the Cubs/Sox games matter every single time because its a division game. I also think it would help with attendance because travel for fans or just transplants would be much more feasible. I hated the first iteration, but when I looked at this one I found myself enjoying the idea of it.
  24. Game already started. Luis using a torpedo in his first AB tonight.
