  1. Most of the opportunities seem to be coming with 2 outs.
  2. Nothing he is throwing is intimidating at all. He has no out pitch right now and he's missing a lot. They'll get to him if they are patient.
  3. I think he gets one today.
  4. Watching that guy pitch was a treat. Sucked he did it to the Sox. When him and Lariano were healthy it was scary.
  5. Bregman is basically a slap hitter now huh?
  6. And the sinkers he threw to Vargas that were in the zone were up.
  7. Holmes stuff looked like garbage in that inning.
  8. I think there were a few challenges against him in his last start. I know one was a low and in change to a lefty that landed perfectly that was upheld.
  9. One thing I love about him is he’s always around the plate. Not a lot of wasted pitches.
  10. People forget how highly thought of Thorpe was. He had good results for a rookie before getting hurt. He was the double A pitcher of the year. He can pitch. He’s efficient too. He made the jump straight from double A and looked like he had real upside.
  11. If throws tomorrow then he’d line up Monday at home I think, which is probably what they want to do unless something goes terribly wrong with him.
  12. You’re playing a team that’s top what 5 in record on the road with two TBDs in your rotation so you have severely limited bullpen usage. To even be in the games with a chance to win them is fantastic. These games look completely different if you are able to use your pen as you want to.
  13. They should go Thorpe and Urquidy and just let them throw. Maybe they give you a shot and if not it just gives the pen a break they need.
  14. Ya realistically you just need to win one. These games could’ve gone either way. Considering the circumstances, the Sox have played really well.
  15. They really got screwed having to burn Taylor. This bullpen is fucked. They should just call up Thorpe tomorrow and let him give you five.
  16. I feel like he likes to let the ball get really deep too. With that and his flat bat path like you mentioned, seems like most of his balls in play are low liners because of it.
  17. He seems to be streaky but it doesn’t last long in either direction. Seems like he gets hot for a few then cold for a few then hot for a few.
  18. Ole Rubber arm will prob see an inning.
  19. Probably would’ve gotten a chance but he wasn’t on the 40 man.
  20. He should be done. Did his job and now he’s prob going to leave on a bad note.
  21. He hasn’t started since June. His last outing of 5 innings was in May. He went on the IL with a shoulder issue and then straight to the bullpen. He’s only been asked to go 2 innings 3 times since then and one was his debut.
  22. Ok they get out of it and then have to throw another pitcher they don’t have in the 11th.
  23. I understand the thought of lefty lefty with Hagens K rate but even if you walk him you face Suzuki. Hagen threw almost 30 pitches the day before and has never been asked to pitch that much on back to back days. It was a game they needed to finish in 9 and they didn’t. It was a good baseball game.
