Offseason Targets
Marquez is a great idea...if you want to lose 6 years of someone important, and probably 10-12 years of two important pieces. Bauer at just money and a 2nd round pick is much better IMO and in the long run probably nets more WAR, more wins and most importantly is a real ACE. The Cubs finished their rebuild with an ace (Lester), the Sox can do just that as well and with a 1 2 3 of Giolito, Bauer and Keuchel everything else will work itself out - Dunning/Kopech/Cease whatever. This is my offseason Option 1 plan: Bauer - 5 year deal Jackie Bradley Jr. 2 year deal with 3rd year option McCann (to DH and Catch - allows Vaughn some time if needed) - 3 year deal with opt out after 1 season Kluber on a 1 year deal (2nd year opton based on innings performance) Package Stiever and another Prospect for an elite set up man so Bummer can slot into closer Option 2 plan: Quintana 3 year deal Kluber on a 1 year deal (2nd year option based on innings performance) or Paxton if a similar deal is attainable Springer 4 year deal with 5th year option Jason Castro 2 year deal Liam Hendricks 3 year deal

La Russa arrested for DUI in Feb; charged day before hire
I don't think you read my post right. I was responding to the we don't like his politics comment. That has nothing to do with this. The DUI needs to be taken seriously, as it indicates a major leadership flaw

La Russa arrested for DUI in Feb; charged day before hire
This is a real bad take. This has to do with his egotism and failure to realize he has a problem. We all knew he was a drunk, but another bad decision by him and ultimately Jerry has made this so much worse for the look of the Sox organization

Jose Abreu wins 2020 AL MVP and Hank Aaron Award
so well deserved. Honestly I didn't think he still had those types of numbers left in him...let's squeeze another year or two out like this!

Sox hire Ethan Katz per WSD
What he did with Giolito mattered. It also is great for the young staff. Better than a retread, and a positive sign towards analytics. My biggest question is was TLR at all part of the process or is Hahn doing his work regardless and this causes friction in the future?

It's nearly 48 hours since this came out and not one official statement or interview from the club. This is POISON.

Marcus Stroman accepts qualifying offer from Mets
One positive is maybe Mets don't go as hard after starters now. The only issue is this just increased the demand for Bauer even more.

Marcus Stroman accepts qualifying offer from Mets
And this is why he went HAM on LaRussa. What a dingleberry. And not too smart of a move with a looming CBA coming. Shoulda got that money.

La Russa arrested for DUI in Feb; charged day before hire
Finally got my response from Brooks. He used the canned email, but did personalize it to me...meaning he did read it. The dude is sending out personal emails at 9pm. that speaks volumes on how much they know they are screwed.

would Fuld take bench coach with Bochy? Honestly that is a better hire situation than Hinch IMO.

La Russa arrested for DUI in Feb; charged day before hire
Just like the day after the hiring...I felt worse about it. The day after this news I can say for certain: The White Sox are pathetic. Cheers to devoting my life fandom to an absolute dumpster fire. Thanks dad for all the games at Comiskey when I was 5-9 years old, i never expected this journey would lead me to telling my son...please just be a Braves fan. I beg you. (context, we live 8 minutes from the Braves ballpark and he is torn between sox and braves loyalty)

Some much needed good news - Crochet
Healed up, pain free and comfortable again. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/garrett-crochet-confident-after-relief-outings "He feels discomfort-free after taking time off and underwent tests this past week at Camelback Ranch to set up an offseason throwing program. Crochet has moved to Arizona for the offseason, just minutes away from the White Sox facility, believing it’s an easier process to go through his workouts there during the recovery."

This is front page espn right now and getting picked up everywhere. You either own up to it and make the right choice or you basically silently condone this by no action and that sends a wonderful message to the 25 young men you have to lead next season, plus the fanbase and the city of Chicago.

La Russa arrested for DUI in Feb; charged day before hire
This is the biggest point. It's a problem and one that can't be solved by hiring him. I fucking hate this situation and want to cry for all the victims of drunk driving and the bad light that accepting this as an organization puts them in. This is PUTRID

I have never been more embarrassed to be a White Sox fan. This simply is not okay and MUST result in a statement by Reinsdorf that he made a mistake and they will no longer honor the hire. I honestly may step down as a white Sox fan.

Actually Realistic Vaughn Trade Ideas?
Add Zac Gallen to that list also.
-
McCann feels he is a starter
I would. Phillies lose Realmuto...McCann is an overpay for them.
-
Robert Gold Glove
did he just cement getting this award like 8 times now? Because as others stated...he is only going to get better and once he starts making those over the wall grabs he will be dynamic. I thought he was going to get runner up on this, as he will for ROY also...but its good to get some recognition to stuff in fangraphs face...

Offseason Targets
Woodruff is a stud. I am more interested in the idea here of springer & brantley. interesting. that team wins a world series in either 21 or 22. BUT, man do you give up a nice long Vaughn run. As mentioned, he is going to be great.

Offseason Targets
Moncada is a potential 6-8 WAR third baseman when healthy. You put him in RF and he is a 3.5-4.5 guy. NOT worth it when solid FA's are out there. Brantley can be had for a reasonable price, has great patience and plate discipline and is a lefty. He stinks in the field...but how good would Yoan be? who knows...and Engel is the late innings guy no matter what.

Offseason Targets
good article until bruce decides to bruce at the end...Justin turner at third and let Moncada roam the outfield? Oh bruce.

Offseason Targets
especially on around a 4/68 mil deal. trade rumors doesn't normally nail the team...but the numbers they guess are generally in the ballpark. I'm Bauer or bust, but just like Keuchel, this is a GREAT backup play.

Offseason Targets
Kluber doesn't need to do a prove it deal. This literally will be his last season pitching, unless he somehow miraculously can pitch 1 more season beyond. He is getting older and the injuries won't help his effectiveness. He is a much better version of the Gio deal the sox did last year..but I don't think his results are going to be much more than a #4. He is worth an 8-10 mil risk, probably more than paxton, but his old pitching coach is with the Yankees now. they probably swoop him

Offseason Targets
He was in schaumburg this year getting advanced work and the scouts all said at the draft that physically he is there, just needs the reps. My point is the 2nd round pick in the draft means nothing this year compared to signing a stud. it HAS to happen to be competitive for 21 in the least, but really 22 as well (unless they luck into Kopech and Cease being amazing)

Offseason Targets
Especially so since they drafted Crochet and Kelley last year...the former will push the starting role in 2022 and Kelley probably not too far after ('23?) Young pitching isn't the problem. This organization has plenty of that. It's hitting 21-22 with a top notch starter that has to be addressed before Kopech/Dunning/Cease/Crochet, etc, figure the 2022 and beyond group.
