  1. Just finished a damn good Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey breast, corn, peas, roasted rosemary potatoes and rolls. Home-made coconut cream pie for dessert. and of course, plenty of leftovers!
  2. QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 27, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) You know whats f***in funny?I never curse in real life but I curse all the f***in time on here.s*** is crazy. Seriously. Funny how that works, isn't it? When I'm anywhere near my daughter I don't swear at all, but when I'm with my friends I swear quite a bit. The reaction I got from one of my kid's friends' parents was awesome when they heard me speak with no kids around. It was like a Full House viewer seeing Bob Saget's standup act for the first time.
  3. QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 27, 2008 -> 04:09 PM) True. The person below me thinks the Critic is lieing about no getting up for black friday. [interrupting the game] I would seriously rather pay double for something than deal with any type of crowd while shopping. Online shopping is a godsend, as is weekday afternoon shopping. My wife has done the Black Friday thing a couple times, but there's no way in hell I would ever do it. [we now return to our regularly scheduled game]
  4. As false as false can be. The person below me is feuding with a family member.
  5. QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 27, 2008 -> 12:58 PM) Just be careful. Remember the fight that Popeye and Bluto got in when Bluto went to Mount Olive . . . ...only to find it was complete flatlands....
  6. QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 27, 2008 -> 10:08 AM) Tex you are confusing me.Your are in relationships at Hawk games? He quoted the wrong post.
  7. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 27, 2008 -> 02:47 AM) Who the f*** wants to listen to you b****ing about those automobiles and kids throwing their footballs on their lawn? Oh, and How does one listen to this podcast? If anyone's interested, here's the link to the RSS feed of my s***ty little show. http://btpodshow.com/feeds/wdleoshow.xml You can also find it on iTunes by searching for "We Don't Like Each Other". It's definitely a work in progress - my buddy and I are anything but tech-savvy, so we've been working out the technical s*** as we go along. (We've had audio delay problems, then my recording level kept dropping mysteriously....very frustrating) Basically, this show is just an excuse for my friend Chris and me to keep in touch since he stopped working where I work. He's finishing up his education to become a teacher and we don't get to talk as often as we used to. We're still "finding our voice" as it were - I think we'll get better in time....or not....
  8. Khabibulin off to a great start. The Sharks are attacking like crazy, but it's still a scoreless game.
  9. QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 10:34 PM) Hey that's me! Sweetheart .....hey, how YOU doin'......
  10. QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 10:15 PM) I saw a few minutes of that Rosie O'Donnell variety show. It's been a looooong time since I have cursed the invention of the TV that much. Eh, but for my blatant stupidity of not turning off the TV faster, I guess I deserved that. Idiot. Rosie's been all over the TV lately. I've been very vigilant with my remote - whenever I see her, just like that......she's gone....
  11. QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 09:45 PM) The new Christmas single from Cyndi Lauper and The Hives: I adore Cyndi and I like The Hives, so this song was destined to be cool. But this is just all sorts of cool that it is silly! Cyndi's voice is amazing on this track (as usual). I did not expect to like this, as I am just a casual fan of some of Cyndi's stuff and I don't like the Hives very much, but darned if it's not a nice little toe-tapper!
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 10:21 PM) As long as a woman has blue eyes, anything will work. Brunette + hazel eyes = perfection. (...in case she's reading this... )
  13. QUOTE (The Bones @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 09:46 PM) Religion teaches good morals for people to live by...er...um...something like that. Religion (and spirituality) can, and often does, enrich people's lives. Hate-based radicalism, however, never elevates anyone.
  14. True The person below me has watched Faces Of Death.
  15. QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 09:42 PM) Kiss ass. Nahhh, not sucking up because: A - she doesn't read this s*** (she does listen to my podcast, though ) B - my previous 4 girlfriends before her were brunettes and C - she MIGHT someday read this s***
  16. When I was young, I was all about the blondes. But I eventually came to prefer brunettes, and I still do now.
  17. Hell to the YEAH! The person below me has slam-danced and/or stage-dived at a concert.
  18. McDonough is really borrowing from the bag of tricks he used at his last place of employment: http://www.secondcityhockey.com/2008/11/25...t-getting-ridic A book about finally becoming relevant again? How about we hold off on the gushing literary works until this team actually accomplishes something on the ice?

    Tipping

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 03:21 PM) Here's one for everyone............tipping bartenders When Im out, I can easily drink 15-20 beers and usually feel comfortable with a dollar tip everytime I order a drink. That just seems high to me though. With the cost of a beer varying, its tough to know what to tip. From about beer #12 on, that dollar is a Thank You for keeping the beers coming and not bringing out the "overserved" spiel.
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 03:15 PM) True. I go to school far away. The person below me has driven drunk before. ...it was a different time....we didn't know then what we know now... The person below me is personal friends with a celebrity.
  21. Currently false, but I have in the past. The person below me secretly doesn't mind the Cubs THAT much.
  22. My wife works tomorrow, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'm off tomorrow and Friday. We don't get the day after Christmas or January 2nd off, though. Kinda sucks, but what can ya do?
  23. QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) It's actually a really good song with an amazing vocal, IMO. Critic, where did you get that Samoans track? They have a new one out? It was on the "A Punk Tribute To Weezer" compilation from 2006. I don't know if they have anything coming out. They do give that song a nice little punch in the arm.
  24. False, although I was once stopped with a friend of mine by a cop looking for bribes. We had to show our empty wallets to the guy before he let us go. The person below me has gained or lost more than 75 pounds in one year as an adult.
  25. QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 11:08 AM) Yeah but I ain't gonna eat no three pounds of cheeda'* *enjoying being an English major There's a very good chance that I'll eat 3 pounds of some kind of cheese on Saturday. My brother-in-law is a vegetarian, and we're going to his house for lasagna. I can't wait, actually - I anticipate being so sick of turkey by then that a nice veggie lasagna will be VERY inviting.
