    QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 1, 2008 -> 12:34 PM) Shoulda made her see Zach and Miri make a porno Has anyone seen this? I love Kevin Smith, but I can't imagine this is any good.
  2. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 1, 2008 -> 11:10 AM) WCW continued putting Goldberg in that role at that time. I never got the excitement around Goldberg. Average worker at best, unable to "tell a story" in the ring, no personality or mic skills. The manufactured "streak" sold him to a lot of people, though.
  3. QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Nov 1, 2008 -> 10:21 AM) Sting doesn't even wanna be a heel! That's why he does crap like slapping hands with fans on the way to the ring. It's hilarious, Meltzer was talking about how they write him heel promo's and then he goes out there and cuts the promo and omits any of the heelish language. To the point you made, I can see that being the way to get him out of the group for sure. Oh, I know he doesn't want to be a heel, he never has. But in this case, I think it adds something to the angle. I thought he was a hindrance to the nWo stuff. The angle would have been better served for him to be the one guy who never joined, I think.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 1, 2008 -> 08:32 AM) I woke up at 8 and was flipping around and saw TNA was on and the first segment was the MEM. I may give it a shot. I like a heel Sting at this point with the new look. The only problem I have with the TNA Originals is that they don't have any big names outside of Joe and AJ. I like Sting's approach to the angle. He's aligned with heels, and dressing/acting heelish, but he's coming from a standpoint where you can kind of relate to him so he doesn't seem like a full-blown heel. I think it greases the skids for an eventual face flip, like when Joe or AJ finally apologize to him and he can say "that's all I was looking for" and turn on the MEM.
  5. My buddy got a last-minute invite to a party tonight, and he has no costume. I told him to write a huge "Fe" on a t-shirt and tell people he's Iron Man. Hey, why is it that most of the trick-or-treaters come to the house after the supposed cutoff time of 6:00 PM? We've had as many people in the last 45 minutes as we had in the 2 hours before that.
  6. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Oct 31, 2008 -> 06:01 PM) Wondering if the great people of soxtalk can refer me to a good blackhawks board. thanks in advance I kind of like the Blackhawk Zone boards. I know the 300 Level is pretty popular, but it seems to be an "insiders" board - no open registration, you have to know someone to get in.
  7. I have to admit it.....I HATE to admit it...... ....the Main Event Mafia angle is drawing me in a little bit. I know it's a rehash of the Millionaire's Club vs New Blood angle, I know 3 of the 5 MEM guys can't wrestle worth a good god damn anymore (I'm including Sting in the can't-work section because his matches are all so repetitive and slow these days, only Booker and Angle keep my interest in the ring), but I gotta admit, I'm enjoying the early stages of it. Scott Steiner was a logical choice to join, only because he has to do something and he sure as hell can't side with the youngsters. It was fun to see him attack his Mini-Me during his run-in. I don't know how much shelf life this angle has, but I'm interested to see where it goes next week, and there's not much in TNA I can say that about. The deal with Cage having to join if he loses to Booker at the next PPV could be good, Jarrett not committing to either side lends itself to some possible storylines, Foley could pull a swerve, though I highly doubt it. If Mick did flip, I bet he's got a couple dozen wonderful heel promos lined up and ready to go.
  8. My favorite politician of all time can be summed up in 3 letters: RFP Ross f***in' Perot!!! "Can I finish?.....CAN I FINISH?????"
  9. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 30, 2008 -> 12:49 AM) I own a championship ring. f***in sweet. You work for the Phillies?
  10. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 09:01 PM) It's all Lidges fault for staying on the ground, lol. In other news... AL's best team chokes again. First Detroit, now Tampa. It's an even-year thing.
  11. QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) But...Buck just said "in the middle of the mayhem on the field"...surely Buck knows excitement when he sees it...right??? I guess 88 years of nothing causes more excitement than 28 years of nothing.
  12. Shane Utley throwing devil horns after Hinske whiffed. I love it!
  13. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 03:59 PM) I think the name calling is basically trying to deflect blame from McCain onto a scape goat. I think there's some of that, but there's also the realization that she's just not ready for this.
  14. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) why? Because I thought Jimbo's was a dump.
  15. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) Ugh, now my problem is just finding a way to get home. The Loop is going to be a joke on Tuesday. Yep. I wish you luck. I'm very glad I get off work at 1 PM.
  16. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) Semi related, but is anyone going to the Obama rally in the Grant Park Tuesday. I have a Tuesday class from 3:30-6:20, so I'm going to be less than 6 blocks away, so I figure I probably should go. Whats the expected turn out/set up? It's invitation only, all the passes have been distributed, everyone will need their printed ticket and photo ID. They're expecting a s***load of people, estimates run from 750K to 1 million.
  17. We'll know as soon as all the chads are no longer hanging, all the broken voting machines are fixed, and all the claims of illegal activity on both sides are sorted out. Maybe 2010....
  18. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) Well, with Jimbos gone... That looks nice in print.
  19. "Footnote" is the nicest way to describe her.
  20. 1 minute 3 seconds. But I think my sissy screaming would actually confuse the beast and I could last much longer.
  21. Hinrich and Gordon looked VERY unhappy during introductions, lol.
  22. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 06:06 PM) Word is Pearce is gonna switch to an old school 70s style, clear cut heel/face, and shorter shows. Not WWE/TNA 2 minute match short, but trimming time from shows which ROH has needed for some time now. You sound more positive about the change than most of what I've been reading online. The general feeling seems to be that the "change of direction" may well alienate the ROH crowd, who enjoy the current in-ring style and see ROH as an alternative to the TNA/WWE style of show.
  23. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 08:23 AM) I dislike the job Blago has done. Wouldn't that be something if the Daley brothers ran the state though? Sets of brothers I would rather have running Illinois instead of the Daleys: The Hanson Brothers The Smothers Brothers The Osmond Brothers The Hudson Brothers The Valiant Brothers (I'd prefer Handsome Jimmy and Luscious Johnny, but will accept Gentleman Jerry) The Coen Brothers The Wayans Brothers
  24. Punk and Kofi win the tag straps. Good match by both teams.
