QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 22, 2007 -> 02:56 AM) I didn't want to like The Darkness, but there is some solid music behind all the schtik. I'm really into the MC5 lately. Any fans? The yodeling really was a double-edged sword for The Darkness. They probably wouldn't have gotten noticed as much without it, but it was by far the worst thing about the band. I read on another board I visit that after Justin Hawkins left the band, the rest of the band is carrying on, calling themselves Stone Gods. The bassist is now the vocalist, they got a new bassist, and I'm not too impressed by the song on their website. Kind of bland. I'm not really into the MC5. Given the kind of bands I like, I thought I would be, but they just don't do it for me.

In a perfect world, Growing On Me by The Darkness would have been such a huge hit. I just saw the video for it on a video podcast and it reminded me of just how great that song is.

John McDonough in as Blackhawks President

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 21, 2007 -> 01:44 PM) I saw bits of that article from Rozner, what a tool. Seriously -- he spent more than a couple sentences ripping Tallon for trading Karl f***ing Stewart? If you just said "who?", you're probably not the only one -- it took me a minute to remember that Stewart was that fourth line midget that skated hard and hit people last season. Talk about grinding an axe. How the hell do some of these columnists keep their jobs? While I really did enjoy watching Stewart play, that is a weird thing to obsess about. -

John McDonough in as Blackhawks President

- I've already mailed a letter to McDonough, suggesting he organize bus trips from certain high profile suburbs to home games, and to road games. Contract with a transportation firm and make it a party bus. Get the Blackhawk buzz going out in the suburbs and make it easy for people to attend a game That is a GREAT idea! Have a chartered bus caravan to St. Louis or Detroit for a Saturday game with an option of a hotel stay or a bus right back home after - how fun would THAT be??? -

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 03:38 PM) Everyone is speculating that McDonough's first move will be to get Foley back for the Blackhawks. There are not enough words in the English language that would express how happy that would make me. I'd be fine with Pat on TV, but I've really come to enjoy John Wiedeman on the radio. I don't want him to go anywhere. -

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 01:28 PM) Well, IMO, it's just a lot of work to get back to where you started from. True, but once you got to the top of the hill, it would have been faster to ski down than to walk back down. Unless you fell............which you would have.
-
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 01:00 PM) You betcha. I went skiiing once. It consisted of me getting to the top of the hill, deciding I didn't like being that high, and walking down it. Everybody laughed at the idea of me skiiing and just pictured me standing on a hill smoking and saying how much it sucked. That was pretty much it. I'm with ya on skiing. I bet I could do it if I wanted to, but I've seen enough skiing injuries to figure it's not worth it to me.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 12:52 PM) You have slipped on the ice and landed on your ass before though, right? That's all my one encounter with "ice skating" was. You really are the anti-jock, aren't you?

The deal today moves them one step closer to being a mess. Dealing a young(ish) middle-of-the-rotation pitcher for a 33-year-old shortstop is not a good thing. Pitching is always said to be the most valuable and sought-after commodity in baseball, and that's all the Sox could get for a guy like Garland? It's like KW didn't even shop around.

QUOTE(StatManDu @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 10:59 AM) The Sox just acquired Royce Clayton again. ... Do you think KW thought he was getting Miguel Cabrera? At least both Cabreras are spelled the same.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 10:57 AM) For what it's worth, I'm having a little trouble believing this but not really. I THINK THE WHITE SOX DESERVE THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT 2005 KW HAS A PLAN IT ISN'T EVEN THANKSGIVING THINK OF THE CHILDREN AT LEAST HE DIDN'T TRADE GARLAND FOR "ORLANDO HERNANDEZ" WHICH I SWEAR TO GOD I THOUGHT WAS WHAT HAD HAPPENED WHEN I SAW TRADED FOR "ORLANDO ...." I don't know, man, I'm starting to feel like 2005 (and the 2005 off-season) were the exception rather than the rule. I'll wait and see if there's some "Part II" to this trade, perhaps involving Uribe, but at face value this trade is smelly.
