  2. QUOTE(shipps @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 09:51 AM) 105.9 in Chicago now only plays lite music , it sux.Where is all the talk radio shows going to go now? There was some pretty entertaining personalities on that station like Opie and Anthony, and Steve Dahl. There's not much interesting talk in Chicago radio anymore. There's not much good music on Chicago radio anymore. There's not much reason to air Chicago radio anymore. Thank God for podcasts. FYI, Dahl does mornings on Jack FM now (103.5 FM). O&A are nowhere, nor are any of the other CKG people to my knowledge.
  3. I see no one posted about last night's game, and for good reason. The Hawks looked REALLY sloppy last night. The Blues played pretty well, and played very physically (especially directed at Kane), but that win shouldn't have come that easily for St. Louis.
  4. I hope this doesn't come off snobbish, but UFC (and MMA in general) has made boxing fall off the map for me.
  5. Absolutely amazing first 10 and 1/2 minutes!!! Kane had Bryzgalov at his mercy, and Buff just had to throw that 3rd one at the net!
  6. QUOTE(bmags @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) well, it is Morissey. I know - I didn't think he'd get angry....I thought he'd cry.
  7. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 01:20 PM) I suppose you never know how you'll react, but if it was me, I'd be thankful that no one was home at the time. As would I. I guess I meant after the initial shock and "thank goodness no one's hurt" phase, I think it's hard to imagine the feeling of losing every material possession you have. I don't have a ton of stuff, but just thinking about pictures, childhood report cards, my daughter's drawings, newspaper clippings from when I played baseball, little gifts and things my Grandmother gave me....losing all that stuff is just unfathomable to me.
  8. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 03:50 AM) So Morrisey is suing NME for printing the following quotes: "Although I don't have anything against people from other countries, the higher the influx into England the more the British identity disappears. So the price is enormous. If you travel to Germany, it's still absolutely Germany. If you travel to Sweden, it still has a Swedish identity. "But travel to England and you have no idea where you are." Morrissey then gave a follow-up interview in which he clarified his remarks: "It could be construed that the reason I wouldn't wish to live in England is the immigration explosion. And that's not true at all." Actually, I guess he demanded NME print an apology and they refused. I see absolutely nothing wrong with anything he said. I see what he meant, but I also see where someone could take his comments as slightly xenophobic. I don't feel they are, but I can see where someone could take them that way at face value. Seems to be a bit of an over-reaction to flip out about NME printing what he said, though.
  9. Didn't see a thread about the latest Malibu fires, so I'll put this here. Very sad story about Butch Walker, a musician whose work I like a lot (or at least used to like a lot, his last two releases did nothing for me): In a tragic turn of events, it has come to light that the rental home owned by Flea that burned in the Malibu, California, wildfires over the weekend was being occupied by Avril Lavigne producer Butch Walker — and he lost everything in the blaze. Walker was touring New York at the time of the incident, and "had just consolidated my entire recording studio and house from Atlanta into the one house in Malibu," the songwriter/producer, who has also worked with Pink, Fall Out Boy, the Academy Is..., Tommy Lee and others, said in a press release. "I lost everything I've ever owned. Every master of every song I've ever recorded, every piece of recording equipment, guitars, drums and things I've collected over the years, cars, motorcycles, every family memorial, heirloom, picture and document we ever had. ... Gone. I feel like I finally know the difference between 'going back' and 'going home.' " Over the weekend, Flea said in a text message obtained by the Los Angeles Times that his $4.8 million home in Corral Canyon was "burnt to a crisp" by the fires on Saturday morning. According to TMZ.com, a second, $10 million Malibu home owned by Flea — the one in which he currently resides — did not burn. The one that did was a house that the bassist had been renting — most recently to Walker — and currently has up for sale, the site reports. Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose also had a close call when the fires burned his roof and singed some of his property. According to a report on KCAL-TV, Rose's assistant said the rocker "was with the hose everywhere" on his property, fighting to save his home. The fires, which have largely been contained, were the worst in Malibu in years, according to the Times. In late October, another series of fires forced evacuations in the area but hit the San Diego area much harder. I can't imagine losing everything I've ever owned. What a helpless feeling that must be.

  13. I don't have a full list off the top of my head, but three discs I loved this year are: 1. Against Me! - New Wave 2. Megadeth - United Abominations 3. Ministry - The Last Sucker I'll post more as I remember them.
  14. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 27, 2007 -> 09:28 PM) Just about the post that. I really like it. -Something needed to be done with the kid line. It wasn't clicking, and I'm glad Savvy did something about it. -I would assume with this move Wiz is feeling ok, and should be back. If Buff on the wing means we get MagJo in the lineup, I would rather stick Buff back on D and have Sammy in the lineup. If Buff is on wing and we don't see Maggs on D, I really like it. -We a very nice top two lines, and the third line is really going to be scrappy. I think Sharp is going to work perfectly with Kane and Toews. That has a chance to be a REALLY productive line. Nothing against Ruutu, I just love the way Sharp's playing and I think his speed and energy is a perfect fit alongside 88 and 19. The Stick Line, perhaps? (S-T-K) Or The Skate Line, maybe? (S-K-T)
  15. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Nov 27, 2007 -> 04:17 PM) that's K-Y-J to you, mister. And it's a facebuster. (Someone's been watching ROH.......) It's not a facebuster, it's THE CODEBREAKER!!!! Did YOOOUUU break the code??1!??!!1! Santino was very funny with Jericho.
  16. Chuck Brown Christmas on ABC tonight. Just a heads-up for those who voted for this movie! ....and even for those who didn't, I guess.... B)
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 27, 2007 -> 04:53 PM) Neat-o, gang -- four more home games added to the TV schedule this season, bringing the total to 11. Thanks Rocky and Mr. McDonough! http://blackhawks.nhl.com/team/app/?servic...rticleid=344635 The more, the merrier! Keep bringin' 'em, Rocky!
  18. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Nov 27, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) Prior will never be what he was, IMO, but who cares. If you can get the next two seasons out of him for 3 mil apiece, it's worth the gamble. If he gets back to even 75% of what he was, he's still an effective SP. From a Sox perspective, it's almost worth the 3 million alone just for the chance to have a tremendous marketing opportunity to stick it to the Cubs. I think the Cubs wouldn't deal him to the Sox for exactly that reason. From that standpoint, I think it's probably in their best interest to hang onto him for 3 mil this year and see what happens. What's another 3 mil considering all the money they've wasted on him already? I'd think it would be worse for them to trade him and see him succeed somewhere else than to gamble the 3 mil and have him be the same old story for them again.
  19. I say if the Dolphins go winless this year, that cancels out the undefeated Dolphin team of 1972.
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) Well, this kind of sucks because I can't find a picture for "more," but whatever: more Could've gone with Michael Moore or Mary Tyler Moore...
  21. Are you f***ing kidding me??? A Road Runner skit?????? Damn, Vince must be PISSED OFF at Carlito.
  22. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 08:40 PM) Does Jericho interfere allowing Flair to win the match? It'd be funny if guys kept running in every time Flair wrestles and just lightly slapping Flair to get his opponents DQ'd for outside interference.
  23. So VKM says the next time Flair loses a match, his career is over. Ugh. EDIT: so now Orton comes to the ring and challenges Flair to a match - could this crappy angle possibly lead to one more title run for Flair?
  24. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 07:47 PM) Flair to "retire" or retire tonight...not really sure what to make of this one. I'd like for him to somehow win the title once more before he actually does retire. He's said in interviews that he's been waiting for creative to come up with a storyline for him. Either this is the storyline, or maybe he's tired of waiting.
  25. Kevin DuBrow of Quiet Riot died yesterday at the age of 52. No details yet, just that he was found dead in his home on Sunday. This message was on QR drummer Frankie Banali's website: I can't even find words to say. Please respect my privacy as I mourn the passing and honor the memory of my dearest friend Kevin DuBrow. RIP Kevin.
