  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 07:37 AM) That is insane. I wonder how many man-hours have been wasted here? When you figure out how many man-hours have been wasted here, calculate 64% of that number and that's YOUR personal total. (An SS2K5 post total joke!!! I am never gonna get tired of this!!!!)
  2. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 07:41 AM) Oh, and Critic (yeah, like I bet that's your real name), I rarely post on message boards, so this whole 'net ettiquette thing is lost on me still. Sorry.
  3. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Dec 18, 2007 -> 09:58 PM) Yeah, but to mention "Joey Styles" amongst a bunch of other clear irrelevants was weird to me. Well, the "inside reason" may have been the fact that Vince isn't running any ECW-only pay-per-views anymore, so Joey Styles can only be heard on Sci-Fi. That can be seen as "irrelevant" in the wrestling world. But the remark was made more to wound JBL's pride by lumping him in with small-in-stature announcers like Styles and Cole.
  4. QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 17, 2007 -> 08:22 PM) Emo Vince Vince + My Chemical Romance hoodie + black eyeliner and fingernail polish = RAYTINGZ!!!!!
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 17, 2007 -> 06:40 PM) I think after everything that Edge has pulled though, he's never going to be a face in this business again though. I have to disagree. In wrestling, almost nobody can't be turned - once Hulk Hogan successfully turned heel, I felt like just about anyone can flip back and forth. I think people like Edge, and his heel heat isn't the Jeff Jarrett brand of "get off my TV screen" heat. If Vince wanted to turn Edge good, I think he'd have no problem at all being a "cool face".
  6. QUOTE(bigruss22 @ Dec 17, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) So I went with some sketch supplies, she is really good but hasn't drawn for awhile, but seems to enjoy it when she has times so I bought her some really nice variety of sketching pencils and a portable handcase so she can take it with her on trips etc. Good choice. Thoughtful, specific to her interests, yet not too forward.
  7. TNA script for the January 3rd episode of Impact has leaked online. The link to the .pdf file is included in this news blurb: http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2007_/arti.../1197913404.php
  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 17, 2007 -> 10:16 AM) Hopefully JBL has been working out. The last time i saw JBL he looked like a beached whale He looked a little thick but OK when the APA did their thing on the anniversary Raw show.
  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 17, 2007 -> 09:43 AM) Can anyone explain the JBL interference angle to me? How was the Orton/Jericho match overall? JBL's back must be feeling well enough to allow him some (at least) part-time wrestling, so they're easing him into a feud with Y2J. The angle, as far as TV goes, began when Jericho was thrown into the SmackDown announce table and he shoved JBL away to get back to Orton. JBL took offense and big-booted him to cause the DQ. I think that will be a very entertaining feud mic-wise, but not so much in the ring.
  10. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Dec 17, 2007 -> 05:15 AM) Now wouldn't it be great if Edge pulled the evil heel card and turned on Vickie after winning -- playing her feelings so he could get his title shot quicker and now that he got it, he doesn't need her any longer? That would indeed be great, but I'm sure that would make Edge a face (since people rightfully hate Vickie Guerrero) and keeping him with her continues to confound and upset people and keeps Edge a heel.
  11. Just thinking about the "grateful make-out" surely upcoming between Edge and Vickie Guerrero is giving me the heebie-jeebies.
  12. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Dec 16, 2007 -> 07:26 PM) What I wouldn't give for the older KotR, In Your House, That Tuesday in Texas, etc. to be put out on DVD. I still remember watching Prime Time Wrestling on USA before Raw was even on TV. Then, watching the early Raws at the Manhattan Center, etc. The world of Gorilla Monsoon, Jack Tunney, Taker locking Warrior in the casket, Demolition, Strike Force... Mania IV was probably my favorite early era WM. Gimme some old Clash of the Champions on DVD and I'd be a happy camper. If Vince would open up the vaults more for a lot more documentaries and release the old PPV's from other promotions on DVD, he could make a ton of money -- the old WCW, ECW, WCCW, AWA, etc. shows would be great to watch on DVD. I needs me some early 90's Great Muta! And I guess we all can't be around to watch the 2 out of 3 falls match between Gotch and Hackenschmidt like you and Critic, now can we? HEY!!!! I did NOT attend the Gotch/Hackeschmidt match!!!!! .....I was at the reading of the teletype at a hotel lobby, like in Eight Men Out..... Here's my impression of Jim Ross announcing the Gotch/Hackenschmidt match: "MAH GAWD!!! ARMBAR!!! ARMBAR!!! ARMBAR!!!!" The funny thing for me about seeing the old AWA again on the DVD doc Vince released was that it kind of killed the romance for me in a way, because the matches are SO slow and really kind of dull.....kind of like an Orton match these days.....(just wanted to set the Ortonites on fire there.... ) It was great to see the guys I watched growing up, and I still really enjoyed the Bockwinkel & Heenan promos, but the wrestling itself was a letdown for me.
  13. QUOTE(Shadows @ Dec 16, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) Dont really care, but they have one win which is all that matters now I don't really care either - the only NFL team I follow at all is the Packers because my wife's a fan. I just find Miami's brand of all-encompassing suckiness funny.
  14. QUOTE(Shadows @ Dec 16, 2007 -> 03:18 PM) Hell yes they did Now everyone on here can STFU about them going winless Oh well, now they'll have a glorious 1-15 record instead. Maybe they can beat New England, since they're on a roll.
  15. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Dec 16, 2007 -> 09:23 AM) This is an odd thread. The poor original poster has to look inbetween post about "dicks in a box" and the Critics sex-life and getting visuals of his glorious body-builder frame to find his REAL suggestions. You say that as if you've never posted on a message board before. Derailing is second nature for any thread! ...and besides, my glorious bod is a present for anyone...
  16. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Dec 15, 2007 -> 11:11 PM) How dare you sir. To steal an old Adam Sandler bit, I'll put a ****ing condom on your ****ing tombstone! I haven't seen you in a few (years?), so I have no idea what sorta look you are sporting now. Are you well? To steal a wrestling term... Oh, Christ, I'm as fat as I've ever been. My f***ed-up back won't allow me to do much of anything physical (another reason I wouldn't need condoms). I'm not quite Big Daddy V, but I'm definitely sporting a Mick Foley look right now.
  17. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Dec 15, 2007 -> 11:19 PM) I know he has "skill", but Samsonov is killing me. So far Samsonov's only skill has been skating up and down the ice and not doing much of anything. Savvy needs to start treating him like a bug bite and scratching him repeatedly.
  18. QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 15, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) She's could be better, could be worse on mic. I wasn't paying attention to Don West. i usually don't. To paraphrase, he was telling Tenay not to interrupt the greatest ring entrance in wrestling history.
  19. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Dec 15, 2007 -> 05:03 PM) What would a married man like you know about condoms? (Don't even think of coming back with a response like...about as much as YOU~!) Well, since your own conscience wrote the comeback for me.... I was going to say something about needing them for my rampant, incessant infidelity, but then I caught a glance of myself in the mirror and even I wouldn't believe that.....
  20. She's very attractive, but under no circumstances should they ever give her a live microphone. Yikes. EDITED to add: That was quite a Jerry Lawler impression Don West did on Thursday when they entered the ring.
  21. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Dec 15, 2007 -> 02:23 PM) Picture frame with a picture of the two of you in it. Works like a charm. But make sure you have enough left over for the condoms....
  22. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) I see Owens as a bench player long term, but I would have a real hard time making the argument that Owens couldn't match the numbers Crisp has put up the last two years in Boston. Don't trade for something you probably already have on the roster. I agree. At this point, it doesn't make sense to me to give up players to get someone who should be marginally better than someone you already have. I'd much rather Kenny try to find a reliable starter than acquire Coco Crisp. If you're going to give up prospects, get pitching for them.
  23. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 05:40 PM) Aloha -- I've been awfully busy at work. Over the past few months, I've organized a non-perishables donation drive at my junior high with the help of the Student Council and Nat'l Junior Honors Society. Our goal was 1,000 lbs. of non-perishables -- and a dance or movie for the winning grade level that brought in the most stuff (6th, 7th or 8th). I just got done moving the stuff out of my room to the food pantry in town. I was told there that after we moved it all, we had 4-5,000 lbs. of food easily. Needless to say, we got pictures and will be writing press releases especially to the local paper in Champaign (cough*News Gazette*cough) that chose not to run an article about it nor send any reporters over. I wonder what a picture of myself standing with a PTO volunteer and the head of the pantry as we can barely fit in the room due to all the food the kids and staff brought in will do to their willingness to cover us the next time. But all that aside, it was awesome that about 550 people can get 4-5,000 lbs. of food donated. It was amazing. That's awesome, LCR, you should feel very proud that so many people will have a nice holiday because of your efforts and the efforts of everyone who worked with you!
  24. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 08:23 PM) Toews, Kane, huge front story on nhl section of espn.com http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/nhl/index If it's off by the time you see this, link below: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/stor...&id=3152371 Great story! I'm absolutely loving the way things are finally turning around for the Hawks. It's about damn time!!!
  25. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 07:07 PM) Isn't he a recovering alcoholic? I believe so, but all the same it fit his "snobby British" character well, I thought. Like he was saying "I shan't imbibe that bloody swill with YOU lot".
