QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 13, 2007 -> 02:31 PM) So anyone know any good bars in the 'burbs that have Hawk home games on TV? I don't know anyplace that carries Hawks home games any more. That used to be big business in the early 90's, but I haven't heard of any bars doing that these days. -

I like WSI quite a bit, but it is a lot more "keep it at arm's length" over there. The two sites are both enjoyable, but you can't have the same approach at each site, for sure. As I've said a few times, I'm very glad you're here, StatManDu! -
And of course, my favorite of all: WHASSA GOIN' AWWWWWN?????

QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 12, 2007 -> 11:22 PM) The version on youtube is only 1/4 of the whole one. It is like 3 hours long. I think 3 hours is too much Hall. -

Just saw that the Stars are playing tonight, too, so my fears about what this game may have taken out of them are lessened by that news. -

And it's over! 3-2 win in Detroit. Like I said, VERY impressive! -

The Hawks are playing a very physical game and throwing a lot more shots at Hasek than the Wings are used to allowing. After falling behind 2-0, this is a very impressive showing on the road. The pessimist in me wonders how much this game will take out of the Hawks with Dallas coming to the UC tomorrow night. -

Lang sends a laser beam off Hasek's shoulder and into the net on the PP to give the Hawks a 3-2 lead. -

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 12, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) Sharp and Seabrook score a minute apart late in the 2nd, tied 2-2 heading into the 3rd. Khabibulin made some big saves to keep this game from getting out of hand. -
QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) If you go to Radiohead.com you can have a download of their new album sent to you on October 10nth for FREE I read that so far about 2/3 of downloaders have paid for the new disc on the honor system, and they've paid an average of 10 bucks each for the album. I've also seen it on blogs, which seems silly to me if you can grab it for free from Radiohead's own site if you want to.

QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 11, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) The complete Scott Hall Shoot Interview is up at veoh.com. I shall be watching it this weekend. Just watched it on YouTube. Pretty interesting stuff. Hall's a good talker but I never what percentage of his words to believe. -

A 7th round pick seems like a low return for a 24-year-old AHL 30-goal guy whose main shortcoming (at least from the report quoted above) would be muscle mass. -
If I go anywhere requiring a costume (which is unlikely), I think I'd go as Bret Michaels and my wife would probably go as the bat-s*** crazy Lacey from the horrible yet somehow addictively funny "Rock Of Love" series on VH1. I figure to be Bret Michaels, all I need is a terrible wig, some eyeliner, several bandanas, a cowboy hat, boots and a garish long coat.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 12, 2007 -> 04:19 PM) Well, if the GENERAL PUBLIC had half a brain, the news wouldn't need to cover it. Don't hate the player, hate the game. Oh, believe me, that's a point I make to my wife over and over. If people didn't have this weird fascination with "celebrities" (the criteria for being a celebrity gets lower and lower, but that's another rant for another time), maybe the insipid TV shows and magazines rewarding the harrassment of celebrities would fade away. Then there wouldn't be a monetary incentive for these stalkers with cameras to invade the private lives of the celebrities who wish not to whore themselves out. But I still reserve the right to hate the players and the game. More often than not, the players are complete imbeciles.

I can't believe how late to the party I was with the show. I'm watching the DVD collection now - fantastic stuff!

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 12, 2007 -> 01:10 PM) If she had half a brain she would have let him go on and on about prison for the entire segment and then left. He would have ended up looking pretty silly in the end. If she had half a brain we wouldn't have 99% of the "news items" she's involved in.

You really should change your username to RainManDu. Seriously, though, thank you for posting here - I always learn some interesting facts from your posts.

I think it started with Kid Gleason's admission that he likes toads. Lots of freaks probably into that s***. -

QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 08:11 PM) Just watched Jericho's 99 debut on dailymotion.com. The unedited one. Love when everyone starts chanting "Rocky, Rocky!" and Jericho replies, "Thank you!" I'll never get tired of that clip. As I've said before, that's the last WW(F)E show I attended, and Jericho's entrance was by far the highlight of the show. Jericho needs to come back YESTERDAY! -
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 02:42 PM) Ya'll are talking about it, so it must be effective. The effect it has on me is "avoid Gillespie Chevrolet at all costs".

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) So, HHH was the champion at some point last night? How many title reigns does that give him? 11. He will blow past Flair's total, no problem. Probably end up somewhere around 20 reigns. -
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 09:24 AM) Levine on AM 1000 was just taking the Cubs fans to task for booing the team yesterday. He was saying they needed their support and what a great year Aramis and the like has had and they shouldn't boo because they had a bad stretch.... hysterical Ramirez went 0-for-12 when they needed him most, left 12 men on base in 3 games, and killed quite a few rallies in the process. The Cubs were not the better team in that series, but the series should have been much more competitive than the Cubs made it. Their fans have every right to voice their displeasure. Levine's a joke.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 08:55 AM) Konerko does have limited no trade protection in his contract. He either has become or is extremely close to being a 5/10 guy so he will have full protection. Sorry, I meant to clarify - they didn't say Konerko was going to be moved, they were discussing which Sox players would be attractive to other teams. A caller proposed that Konerko be moved to make room at 1B for Josh Fields, since Konerko had also been a 3B earlier in his career. (The hosts didn't give that idea much credence)
