QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) They'd like you to believe Ric Flair or Booker, but it is probably David Arquette to plug a new movie. Or they could bring Russo out from behind the scenes. My mark-out scenario would be Jericho, but I don't think Dixie can outbid Vince for his services. -
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) With gasoline?!?! No, with the piss from most of the Sox players' pants this year. Is piss flammable?

Damnit, I hope this doesn't mean that the days of me airing out my junk on Southwest flights are over. People gotta go and ruin it for everybody....

QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 5, 2007 -> 07:46 PM) Anyone try and get No Mercy tickets? I may keep my eye on Stubhub and ebay in the upcoming weeks. I haven't been to an E live event since Raw Is Jericho's debut at the Allstate. Yeah, it's been that long. I don't really have the urge to go to a live wrestling event any more. -
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 5, 2007 -> 08:59 PM) My car is paid off and plan to drive it into the ground (it's a PT and I love it dearly, so that will be easy to do). My desktop comp is dying. Luckily it is a slow enough death that I have cleared off the important stuff. I just finished a piece of great cherry pie. My buddy who runs a booking agency is being incredibly tough to contact and I am trying to book a band that is coming into town on the 28th. I've had a summer cold for a couple of days, and it sucks. There is something on TV right now about the wives and girlfriends of NASCAR drivers. Has our nation slid that far that people actually give a damn? I'm going back to watching the Sox game...and working on the 'zine. If anyone ever asks you what a "catch-all anything thread" is, just point them to this post.

QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 10:24 AM) How can you say that? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dmVU08zVpA That's pretty darn funny, but it's not a good song.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 2, 2007 -> 11:40 AM) I can't believe they are releasing the sequel a few weeks later. It stars Jodie Foster. Ain't that the truth. My wife loves Jodie Foster and she was excited to see her new movie.....UNTIL we saw a few commercials and realized that it will be exactly the same as Death Sentence. She says she might still see it just because of Jodie, but she's way less excited about it now.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 09:35 AM) Can't say it any better myself. Other than the fact that it pains me to admit he has talent. A lot of it. He's also supposed to be a pretty down to earth guy, right? I wonder if my friend Cindy is here. She's the biggest Sox fan I know, and a big Justin fan. I never asked if she hit this site. Weird. He always strikes me as a down-to-earth guy with a good sense of humor and not as much ego as you'd expect. Which makes it hard to dislike him, despite not liking his music.

OK so answer this please about winning this time of year
The Critic replied to greg775's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I want them to win every time they play, but I understand the draft pick people's point of view. I just can't bring myself to hope for losses. -
Timberlake is a talented guy whose music I hate. That's about as "fair and balanced" as I can make it.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Sep 3, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) Why do you always go directly for the insults? :begood I prefer to call them "jokes". I will always go for the joke first. Look, hockey has always been my favorite sport by a wide margin. I want nothing more than to see Blackhawks hockey return to its former place as the "go-to" event in this city, but I am so sick of their ass-backwards management shooting themselves in the foot at every turn. I want to trust Tallon as a GM, but I'm waiting to see if any of the young guys pan out, and then I want to see if Wirtz will pay any of the young guys if and when they become stars. I've seen WAY too many 3rd line free agents get signed after the premier FA's get signed elsewhere. The future LOOKS promising with Kane, Skille, Toews, Ruutu, etc., but as a Blackhawk fan I've been fed too many lines to fall that easily.

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 2, 2007 -> 09:51 AM) I think the one they used last year was a little too long. It needed to be shortened up a bit. They could shorten the intro video by limiting it to highlights to Stanley Cup celebrations and recent All-Stars.

QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 2, 2007 -> 05:26 PM) In a business where you have no union and very little security, I'm sure he was fine acting that way for 6 figures a year. If he hadn't liked it, he would of quit a few years ago. Exactly why I said he may be relieved. He wouldn't pull the trigger on quitting a six-figure job, but after the fact he probably won't miss the retard act. Looks like his firing was based on a second violation of the wellness policy, so he may not be relieved after all, though. -

QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 2, 2007 -> 12:08 PM) Because his paychecks are gone? Because his days of acting like a retard anytime Vince tells him to are gone. He can fall back on that gimmick on the indy circuit later if he wants to, but now he has a chance to portray himself in a new way. A way I'll bet he's a ton more comfortable with. All I ever heard about Dinsmore is what a great wrestler he was "in the minors", yet he was reduced to aping other wrestlers' moves, biting his fingers and waving to little kids like a little kid. That HAS to get old, no matter the paycheck. -

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Sep 2, 2007 -> 08:34 AM) Nick 'Eugene' Dinsmore has been released from the E. I bet he's relieved. -

Went to see Death Sentence last night. It had a couple of good sequences (the chase scene to the parking garage was well done), but overall I was very disappointed. There was a lot of unintentional laughter in the theatre.

QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 11:49 AM) And I'm not just defending Orton. Other guys have been off them, supposedly, for awhile and have never tested positive yet are getting suspended. I understood where you're coming from, and I agree. But Vince is feeling the heat right now, and I think he's trying to put the best face on this situation that he can, while also still trying to play the cocky "Mr. McMahon" on television. Vince doesn't always do the most rational thing, and he's certainly not above sacrificing his employees to cover his own ass. -
The next insightful thing Mariotti says will be his first. He's a newspaper "shock jock", whose only intent is to rile someone up. Praise comes from him like frozen glue, while complaints/criticism/stupid nicknames flow from him like diarrhea. He is to be ignored and avoided.
