TNA just filmed some comedy vignettes where Angle is in a bar in Connecticut and he gets in a fight with "Vince McMahon" and "Batista". The skits are said to be pretty funny, but I'll reserve judgment until I see if they are or not. If this is it, kinda lame. Why doesn't TNA just worry about there own product. TNA iMPACT!: Kurt Angle Action Short Posted Aug 08, 2007Can Kurt Angle take on the henchmen of his nemesis? Wow, that's horrible. And I agree, TNA's time would be better spent on scouting and developing new stars, rather than fixating on Vince.
  3. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 07:29 PM) How wrong is it to admit that I REALLY like the new Matchbox 20 single???
  4. Courtesy Lords Of Pain: TNA released Jerry Lynn, Matt Bentley, Brother Runt, Damaja and Basham. Their profiles were removed from TNA’s website immediately. In Jerry Lynn’s case, he asked for his release, which was granted. Lynn has been with the company from its debut in 2002. No huge losses at all in this round of cuts. 5. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) Oh great...time for you to join the Butler-Buttkissers. Here's what I realized this morning. In the 80's I randomly saw a review of Stevie Stiletto's "Food For Flies" in some zine and I mailed out for it. I ended up ordering two more tapes and a t-shirt from them. I was a fan of Exodus during Michael's stint in the early 90's, but I wasn't a fan of him specifically in the group. American Heartbreak is on the "long list" of favorite bands of mine, despite their singer. So kind of by accident, I've been a lifelong fan!
  6. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 01:30 PM) Well Critic and I became friends off the this site due to having similar interests in bands, so that is why both of us might throw you for a loop. We are listening to all of the same bands pretty much. Though Critic is a little cooler than me due to his blossoming friendship with Michael Butler. ....I did get that Exodus file in my email this morning, AND he's mailing me that CD from The Millions.... B)
  7. QUOTE(Soxy @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 09:14 PM) My old laptop is falling apart! Today the n key fell off, and the guy said to fix it we would need to replace the whole keyboard due to the age of the computer. Dammit. I can live without an "n" Yeah, who eeds that dam letter a yway? ext thi g you k ow, people will be telli g me we ca 't ma age without some OTHER letters, too! We eed to sta d up and U ITE agai st this i sa ity, Soxy!!! ALL FOR O E, and O E FOR ALL!!!!
  8. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 10:47 PM) I routinely know 1 of the 10 or 11 songs listed on this thread. Most of the time, I've never even heard of the artists. I'm so stuck in the mid 80s to early 90s. And even then, it's only the stuff that was popular on the radio. One day I'll post my list, and I'll immediately be chased off the board by Kid Gleason or the Critic. Today, my shuffle consisted of old Tony Kornheiser shows, Brandmeiers latest, selected bits yesterday's Adam Carolla show, and Mac Jurko and Harry. I'm afraid to list any of the music I listen to. I'd never chase you off the board. ESPECIALLY when I see that you have Adam Carolla (the man, the legend, the American Genius) on your player. I may assault you with a blinding array of green font and smilies, but chase you away? Never!! Besides, I've always said that anyone can find stuff they like in my collection, and anyone can find stuff to ridicule me for in there too. It's only music, after all.
  9. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 07:59 PM) You are such a geek! LOL! I'll never deny that. I prefer "tard", but geek will do. I started off by throwing the ticket stubs in a shoebox, and later I decided to try to keep them in somewhat decent shape and order by putting them in photo albums. I'm glad I did, because sometimes checking out a ticket stub can remind me of things I'd forgotten (who I went with, who the opening act was, crap like that). Plus, it helped me do the math on the age-old "Tuesday vs. Thursday" debate.
  10. Another wrestler passed away - at least this time it's someone who lived a relatively long time. Courtesy of SLAM! Wrestling: Dewey "Missing Link" Robertson passed away early this morning after a battle with cancer He was 68 years old. According to Slam! Robertson passed away at 3:30am yesterday morning at Hamilton's Henderson Hospital. He had been hospitalized for the past week. Robertson broke into wrestling in the 1960's and worked as Dewey Robertson in several major territories of the day. It wasn't until he transformed into the bizarre "Missing Link" character that he broke out as a household name to wrestling fans everywhere. It was a total makeover for Robertson and he was unrecognizable even to friends who had known him for years. The new character sported green face paint and a shaved head with only tuft of hair at the top of his head. Robertson battled drug addiction during the 80's, but later served on the board of directors of the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse. RIP Dewey aka Missing Link.
  11. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 11:10 PM) Are you sure? That sounds like an awful lot of work. I think that's how they did it. I've seen that technique in a few videos before, and I seem to remember seeing something about how it was done. I don't think it's quite as much work as it sounds, but even if it is, some bands and/or directors will go through a lot to make a video that will stand out.
  12. QUOTE(Spiff @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 07:41 PM) I love you Critic, the world's only other Bracket fan. And as for Under the Knife, I'm going to see them Saturday in Providence with Smoke or Fire and Comeback Kid. Needless to say, chaos will ensue. Have a good time! Rise Against is SO good.
  13. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 05:59 PM) But it's Thursday. I was trying to paint a picture with words. Empty club, no cheap drinks to draw people in, crappy atmosphere, no one paying attention to the band, all that crap. Tuesday seems to me to be the worst night for live music at clubs. I remember quite a few Thursday night shows, so it didn't seem appropriate to use Thursday. EDIT: I just looked through my ticket stub books and since 1983 I've seen 12 shows on Tuesday nights. Then again, I've only seen 20 Thursday night shows, so maybe Thursday would've worked.
  14. You wanna shuffle, Oh, I'll SHUFFLE, all right.... Gwar - The Apes Of Wrath Aerosmith - Last Child Sidewinders - Witch Doctor Todd Rundgren - I Saw The Light Quiet Riot - Mama Weer All Crazee Now The Mission UK - Amelia Dramarama - Ain't It The Truth Bracket - Trailer Park Sloppy Seconds - The Mighty Heroes Only Crime - Now's The Time And the "Tuesday night, no drink specials, 14 people in the club INCLUDING employees" bonus track: Rise Against - Under The Knife
  15. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 09:14 AM) What do you mean by shot backwards? If you mean they start shooting the action at the end and work their way to the beginning, then I think that's true. I think it means they play the track backwards for the band, have them mime the song as they hear it (backwards), then play the tape backwards to feature the song the correct way, with the video track running in reverse. I've seen that technique used in videos before, it's okay.
  16. Well, to be fair, perhaps Wolfie DID appear on Van Halen's early albums.....in his Dad's nutsack!
  17. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 14, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) Since the green means sarcasm, I knew you were turning into a fellow Orton-ite! Welcome! I'm conflicted. I will be happy to see the strap off of Cena, but I am far less than thrilled by the prospect of The Chinlock Champion keeping the belt warm for Trips. Maybe a Hart/Yokozuna/Hogan type of immediate belt drop?
  18. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Aug 14, 2007 -> 07:39 PM) Do the Orton pose hard and cocky enough and the sheer force and smugness of it should blow the candles into submission. Orton's matches blow hard enough to extinguish any candle and kill any heat.
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 14, 2007 -> 02:07 AM) Not that I think Britney is fit lol but it seems to me K-Fed is even worse.... not 2 mention he was the one that was constantly cheating was he not? I dont really keep up with it all so i could be 100% off. I don't really keep up with it either, but everything I have seen seems to show him as the MUCH more attentive parent. I don't know about the cheating on her, though.
  20. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 13, 2007 -> 07:08 PM) DLO had a dark match. Heard Raw is being taped. What kind of crap is that? A taped Raw from MSG. Well, if the Iron Sheik is there, I think I'd tape it, too, or at least have a 15-second delay. Mr. Sheik likes his F-bombs and references to "humbling" people, especially B. Brian Blair.
  21. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Aug 13, 2007 -> 03:38 PM) I'd like to see him work ROH/Japan but he's pretty much done almost everything there that there is to do. If he did get hired by the E, he could be put in a good program. Hell, just go with his old gimmick from ROH -- he was the hired assassin from the Prophecy stable. Maybe Vince could have had sex with Rikishi and Joe is his son? "I did it for the PEOPLE!"
  22. QUOTE(29andPoplar @ Aug 13, 2007 -> 03:40 PM) I like Pat Foley as an announcer, a great deal. As a person, no. I've never met him so I have no first-hand experience with him, but I've heard many people say he's quite a prick.
  23. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Aug 13, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) Another death. Bryan 'Crush' Adams found dead today according to WWE.com RIP Crush. Man, this is happening way too often.
  24. As a fan of the broadcast, I was angry when Gardner got pushed out. In my view, Bill is a much better analyst Tallon is, and he was more entertaining and funny as well. Just watch a Wolves game and enjoy the Foley/Gardner chemistry. They're really good together. It's no excuse for Rozner to forfeit his objectivity and professionalism towards Tallon, though.
  25. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Aug 13, 2007 -> 07:42 AM) There is a reason that he didn't sign a contract extension with TNA when given the opportunity. I don't blame him one bit for marking time til he can leave them. Do you think he works Ring Of Honor for a while again, or does Vince try to snap him up? I don't think Joe's "HOSS" enough for Vince, but he's pretty over with the TNA audience and the "internet crowd" so that may sway Vince to try to sign him.
