QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) Blah, Scott is awesome. Don't care. The above 6 words = PWN3D! ....ya little whippersnapper.... That Steiner "HAH" clip was hilarious, by the way - thanks, Brian! -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 04:36 PM) You mean we didn't get back Howard in the deal? LAME..... I don't know what most expected. Would have been nice to get something a little more exciting, but the price for an mediocre hitting, declining defense and 32 year old 2b is not great. I didn't expect a position prospect but it would have been nice. A-level shortstop, maybe? Another contender for the future outfield? I know pitching wins championships and so on, but it'd be nice to have some position depth as well. -

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 04:14 PM) Aside from the final out of the World Series, that was my favorite moment of the entire 2005 playoff run. Because of who they were playing, the idiot who threw the pitch, taking full advantage of Graff's error...it was simply beautiful. -
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 09:48 AM) But, as with all things like this, tickets sold out in no time and were actually on eBay and Craigs List before they even went on sale, for up to $1,000. My buddy didn't get tickets. We'll see what happens with the whole "pick-up at the Vic" thing. I would guess if you are an actual member you should head on over to the Vic and claim the un-claimed tickets. I loved 10 when it came out. Have hated everything since then. I was a HUGE Mother Love Bone fan, saw them open for Dogs D'Amour when they played Chicago (bigger Dogs fan) and hung with both bands all night. Got the original "Alive" promo-only single at the record release party for Mind Funk. I guess it's pretty darn rare. You REALLY SHOULD offer up the Alive promo single as trade on Craigslist for a pair of PJ Vic tickets and then give the tickets to my wife. ...it's what any REAL friend would do...

QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 08:14 AM) Are Angle and Joe still doing face and heel turns every week? That, at least, seems to have settled down. Joe is the KILLER FACE and Angle is the cocky heel. For now. -

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 07:29 AM) I wouldn't say weird 3D is for sure heel. The crowd in Orlando hates Bubba with a passion, nobody wants to boo Scott because he's an ass kicker and a great promo. LAX is in for a push now with Konnan gone, and the crowd never boo'd them either. VKM isn't going heel this was just a shade of gray as Russo likes to say. I only thought it was weird for the "quadruple flip" element of it. It felt rushed, is all. Scott a "great promo"? The guy botches more promos than anyone this side of Lex Luger. -

Weird segment on Impact last night. Looked like a quadruple turn going on, with Team 3D and The Ice Age Outlaws are gonna turn heel, with the Steiner Brothers and LAX flipping face??? 3D came out and called out the Steiners, who came out with a Puerto Rican flag (Scott was in PR when he had his emergency surgery), then VKM came out in the middle of the segment and babbled about nothing. VKM and 3D attacked the Steiners with the flag, which brought out LAX for the save - but did they save the Steiners, or just the Puerto Rican flag??? Best line of the segment was Blubber Ray saying that Scott's VERY ugly surgery scar would have been "a papercut" in ECW. -

QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 04:24 AM) Man I was at the club tonight, and when it closed I was in front of it with my friends and I started doing Randy Orton poses and these girls came over and video taped it on their phone and said they were gonna put it on YouTube so if I can get a hold of that video I will post it in here so you can see me paying tribute to THE Randy Orton ....hmmm.....well, I guess it's a good thing you weren't paying tribute to The Bushwhackers..... -
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 12:56 AM) Really? That's nice of them. Wonder how much tix are? I have a buddy back who loves them too. Like a million other bands, I liked PJ's first two albums, then........ Tix were only sold in pairs - 150 bucks per pair plus fees. Kinda steep, but not too out of line considering the prices these days. Available only to current Ten Club members, who will be ID'd when they pick up the tickets. Yup, I said pick up the tickets - tickets will only be distributed at the Vic ticket window on the day of the show in an attempt to prevent (or at least limit) scalping.

I don't buy Alvarez's theory. If Benoit killed his wife and son to somehow "expose the wrestling business", all that says to me is that he was sicker than I could have ever imagined, even sicker than I already think he was. He could have shone a light on the business just by killing himself and leaving drugs, notes and journals with people who would get them to the media. The concussion thing seems to have more merit, but I don't know enough about what concussions can do to you to comment on that. I don't think we'll ever know for sure. All we have is pieces of a puzzle, but we don't have all of them, so the picture will never be complete.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 07:29 AM) Wait, I thought Angle and Joe were tag champs? Just Joe is? TNA gets worse and continues to take all meaning away from their titles. Yeah, they had this goofy match where whoever won the match won the title of the person they pinned. Joe pinned one of 3D (can't remember which one) so he alone is the tag team champions. Now Joe and Angle are having a match where the winner wins all the TNA titles, plus the IWGP Third Belt or whatever. -

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 09:29 PM) Samoa Joe is X Div and Tag Team Champ (cue Critic's fat jokes) Angle is World Champ and IWGP Champ but there is controversy over the IWGP Title with Angle. But if you want a clusterf***, try to keep up with this story about the IWGP belt. Originally Brock Lesnar had the IWGP Title and then he held up IWGP. As a result, Lesnar was stripped of the title but refused to return the belt. Antonio Inoki recognizes Lesnar's reign as legit and starts the Inoki Genome Federation with Lesnar as its champ, using the IWGP Title belt. This belt of Lesnar's was known as the IGF Third Belt Championship (not the IWGP Title). This is despite it clearly saying IWGP on the belt. It does not have the history/prestige/world title status since it is not a new title) Lesnar lost this belt to Kurt Angle in an IGF event. Angle is now the Third Belt Championship holder. IWGP has their own world championship now and Yuji Nagata is the current world champ. Clear as mud, eh? And according to Wiki, the Third Belt Championship will be on the line as part of the Samoa Joe/Angle all the titles match. So the Third Belt is somewhat similar to the wCw title when Turner split from the NWA? Sort of? That's what the IWGP situation you spelled out reminds me of. Or maybe more like the Shane Douglas/NWA/ECW title situation, or a combo of both. Either way, it's a little goofy to have IWGP boldly stamped on a belt you don't recognize as the IWGP title belt. And don't compromise the sanctity of the private message, LCR! I haven't made any "one-man tag team" cracks on the board yet about Joe. I'm actually turning the corner just a little bit on Joe - I still don't think he's the GAWD he's made out to be in a lot of the "wrestling insider world", but I am enjoying his work more than I used to. -

QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 08:00 PM) Alright I can lay off for a while, Jericho is one of my other favorites.. Trust me, if I didn't like wrestling I wouldn't go anywhere near this thread. Look for me in NASCAR or college sports threads for proof. If I get harsh it's only because the business is in such a lull right now, and it's frustrating. -

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 11:57 AM) Pearl Jam is doing a "fanclub only" show at The Vic. My neighbor, who is the biggest PJ freak I have ever known, is beside himself with glee. It's sho hard to show excitement about stuff like that. My sister-in-law's Ten Club membership expired last month and she hasn't gotten around to renewing it yet. She's pretty pissed at herself right now. The Vic is an awesome venue. Some of my favorite concerts ever occured there. Among my favorite Vic shows: Husker Du, The Alarm (twice), Gwar (twice), Jeff Healey Band, Sepultura, Testament, Green Day, They Might Be Giants, The Jesus Lizard, Brian Setzer Orchestra and Face To Face. Good times.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 11:59 AM) Ya know Tank was the band formed by Algy Ward after he left The Damned. Cool band they were, if not a little too much of a Motorhead rip-off. I know where the Motorhead comparison comes from, and it's legit, but Tank rarely had a song shorter than 5 minutes and Motorhead rarely had one approach 4 minutes, so in that regard they were very different. Good to hear that Algy "traded up".

QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 02:20 PM) They didn't put Lashley over Cena because Lashley is a face.. Like I already said before I don't see much sense in having a two face feud. And reports have been for a while now that Triple H wants to push Orton and feud with him for the belt, while also seeing if Cena can stay popular without the strap.. And they have already been saying Ortons behavior has been much better, and that could also be one of the reasons he is making his way back to the belt. Orton wouldn't have to cheat to beat Cena, hes not that kind of heel.. I can see this just being a great match with an out of nowhere RKO to cap it off.. This way, Orton can hold the belt and feud with Trips till eventually dropping it to him.. I just cant see Cena winning and holding it for SEVEN more months until Wrestlemania, its too stale already and I think they know they need to change things up a bit now.. I'll disagree with the bolded point: WHOEVER beats Cena for the strap is gonna have to cheat to do it. The way they've built him up as the Against All Odds Champion, he can't and won't drop it cleanly. Just not going to happen cleanly. No way. -
