  1. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 11:58 PM) 27 pages and not one mention of Air Supply. Until now. Thanks.
  2. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) Samoa Joe does the Samoan Job to Angle. Angle's wife gives Angle the chair in a swerve at the end (she was supposedly having a boyfriend etc.) and he clocked Joe with it FTW. Kurt Angle is now IGF Third Belt Champ, X Division Champ, TNA World Champ and TNA Tag Team Champ. Wow. It's been pretty well-documented that I am NO mark for Joe, but TNA has completely and totally misused him. There have been so many times that I've thought "okay, here's where they begin the Joe Era", and then they job him out to anyone and everyone. It's to the point now that if and when he's finally given the strap, it's going to mean nothing - it's gone into that "blind squirrel" territory by now.
  3. The first time I heard LCD Soundsystem, it was that "Daft Punk" song, and I hated it. I never gave them a second thought after that. Well, I just heard a few songs off of Sound Of Silver, and I really like them. I've heard Watch The Tapes, North American Scum and All My Friends. Good stuff!
  4. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Aug 10, 2007 -> 08:36 AM) Is this official, because I cannot find it mentioned anywhere? I hope it is, but it is odd something like this would not be at any of the other media outlets by now. I heard it on Chicago Baseball Tonight on AM 1000 and on the radio cast of the Cub game last night. They also claimed Shannon Stewart and Casey Blake, and Hendry's trying to work a deal for any of them. The Stewart deal doesn't appear to be happening, from what Levine was saying last night.
  5. Wow, Karen Angle is indeed quite hot! If she needs a cheap, meaningless, rebound "relationship" to help her deal with the breakup of her marriage....
  6. Why couldn't Lance Storm display this kind of humor in his promos? Q: I was reading an old commentary and was curious to what the "Lex Luger approach" to keeping a straight face was? A: I was often asked how I kept a straight face so well, when working with funny people like The Hurricane and William Regal. I eventually revealed that my secret (I am not joking here) was to visualize Lex Luger matches in my head and think about how much more money he made than me, and I found while doing that nothing seemed funny anymore.
  7. QUOTE(Shadows @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 01:49 PM) Is it hosing me if the information is still correct? Well, the name of the author IS the most important part.....
  8. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 03:08 AM) Bobby Beer Drinker How about Bobby Drinks instead?
  9. QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 07:26 PM) You got to love the guy. If and when he blows a save I hope everybody gives him a free pass criticism wise. He's deserving of no criticism for a long time after this stretch. I agree with you, but we both know damn well this is impossible. Jenks has been one of the few consistent players all year long, and the only consistent bullpen guy.
  10. I love writing checks (and I'm still under 50!!! ). I love checks because the tedium of having to write the check out keeps my impulse spending in check (bad pun intended). If I had a check card, I'd have no time-consuming boring routine between me and the useless purchase. Checks are my friend!!! (But for all you eye-rollers out there, I prepare my check before I get to the register, so all I have to fill in is the amount. That takes about as long as swiping the check card, so LAY OFF!!!!!)
  11. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 09:17 PM) Yeah, but you plan to rectify that on September 1st...right? Just got off the phone with The Failures. Great guys. I screwed up the interview though. Sigh. After a great one with Kelly, this one went crappy in a way. Oh yes, September 1st is a go for sure! Holiday weekend, no family obligations until Monday the 3rd, got the thumbs-up from the Mrs. - it's all good. September is going to be a big month for me, entertainment-wise - Gamblers on the 1st, Rush on the 8th and George Lopez on the 22nd. I can't remember the last month with 3 "events".
  12. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 06:26 PM) Yeah! Like all the shows you've met me at!!! Oh... ...wait... That's why the (d) was inserted. As in "like(d)" - past tense.
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 08:16 PM) Having Stone here is great. He really shows the insight that a color commentator is supposed to have. For example, that little thing Richar did with his glove on the stolen base -- I would've never picked up something like that. I don't think DJ has EVER given me a "Wow!" type moment of insight that Stone gives multiple times during a game. Agree 100%, plus another benefit of Stone's presence is that I'm hearing a more lively Hawk than I've heard in a while. That's probably the novelty of a new person in the booth, but it's nice to hear Hawk wake up again.
  14. QUOTE(Shadows @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) Thats why I said I didn't think they would do that, I can see Steph shooting it down again. Especially with HHH coming back against King Booker for a real King match, and then feuding with Orton for the belt, I don't see them involving Trips.. I agree, I mostly just wanted to put that sick f***'s incest idea out there in case some folks hadn't heard about it. I'll be pretty pissed if it's Kennedy - let it be Cody Rhodes, no one gives a s*** about him anyway.
  15. QUOTE(Shadows @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) Triple H is already his son in law and most everyone knows it, that would be a pretty weird storyline.. I don't think they'd do that, Kennedy makes sense. Actually, The H as Hunter Hearst McMahon is right in line with Vince's weird mind. Vince wanted to be the "storyline Daddy" of Stephanie's baby at one point. When she refused, Vince then wanted Shane to be the "Daddy". Thankfully, Steph nixed that too. So for Vince to write "accidental in-breeding" into the act would, unfortunately, not surprise me. H seems to be enough of a carny to go along with it, let's hope Steph can shoot down this idea if it ever gets floated to her.
  16. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 12:11 PM) As long as we are going with what ifs, what if the Sox swept the Cubs at USCF instead of the other way around? The team that allegedly is WS bound and the team playing out the string would have the same record. I sure am glad those games don't mean anything. To me, the two Cubs series fall squarely in the middle between meaningless and end-of-the-world. It doesn't matter which series the Sox should have won that they didn't - they f'd up a lot more series than just the Cubs series at USCF. I don't want them to have the same record as the Cubs, I want them to have a better record than the Indians, Tigers, and Twins (and for sake of completenessitude, better than the Royals as well).
  17. The outdoor festivals are not my thing at all. Even stuff like Summerfest, which is mostly free bands, I try to avoid. If I only wanted to see two bands, they'd be playing at the same time on opposite ends of the field/lot/park/whatever. The last one I tried was the Warped Tour, when it happened at the United Center's parking lot. YIKES. All day, on blacktop, in July, in 90+ degree heat.......never again. Give me a dark, coldish dumpy club, two or three bands appearing on the same stage, a couple cold alcoholic beverages, and THAT's how I like(d) to see shows.
  18. Now that Ed's dried out, Van Halen's going to try again to get the Roth reunion tour off the ground. They're expected to announce a 50-date tour sometime next week. Ed's kid is still going to play bass, so it's still not a 100% "classic Van Halen" reunion. Can't say I blame them for milking the cash cow - the Police have drawn more than 66 million bucks already on their tour, and VH could expect to do pretty well also. I won't go, if only because David Lee Roth annoys the hell out of me and I don't think he's half the performer he was in their glory days.
  19. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 10:12 PM) That would be comedy, but I got a feeling about KENNEDY! being the child...just a gut feeling is all. What's Vince's middle name again? ......KENNEDYYYYYY....... ......Kennedyyyyyy......
  20. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 09:19 PM) Regal is in better shape than I have seen him in years. He looks like a different guy Looks like he may have had some "work" done on his face, too.
  21. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 07:33 PM) TNA is using these guys to get national recognition and some free advertising. WCW was already huge and didn't need Rodman, etc... But it will be a disaster and wrestlecrap history! The thing is, even though wCw was a huge corporation, it was always seen as "second fiddle" and they used Leno, Rodman, KISS, Malone, Arquette and so on for the same exact reasons - mainstream exposure and PPV advertising. It's just too bad to see TNA dump the things that made them a viable alternative to WWE and just hire all The E's leftovers.
  22. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) Raw did it's worse rating since '97? Wow if confirmed. Turns out there was a Nielsen error which under-reported Raw's rating. I can't find the true Raw rating, but the Nielsen company has confirmed the reporting error, so the rating is sure to be higher. Before learning of the error, VKM went nuts, blaming anyone and everyone (except himself or his family, of course) for the poor ratings.
  23. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 10:12 AM) So ESPN is reporting that Pacman officially signed a TNA contract and will make his first appearance on Thursday. Awful. That is so wCw, but then again, so was the AJ & Eckstein stuff.
  24. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 10:36 AM) My sister-in-law asked me what I knew of that band the other day. I said "nothing". She then played me the song. I then told her "I know they suck."
  25. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 02:36 PM) I thought they were done like 10 years ago. wow. Nope, they're still alive and kickin', and actually kickin' pretty hard on this new one.
