QUOTE(mreye @ Aug 23, 2007 -> 08:03 AM) I was finally able to mow yesterday. It needs it again already. I had to go over my lawn twice, because the first pass was so horrible due to the still-wet grass clumping and clogging the blades. Turned out decent, but one pass is bad enough with the size of my yard.

Finally got a chance to listen to the Iron Sheik on Howard Stern's show. That 55 minute segment was about 45 minutes too long. They should have said goodbye after the "real Iron Sheik" and the real Iron Sheik were yelling the same things at each other. -
We got a little bit of water in our crawlspace. Not really too surprised, with the amount of rain we've gotten. The ground is absolutely saturated. Going to have to put the pump to work. Good times....

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 21, 2007 -> 05:38 PM) It's like watching a sitcom. People were clapping after "I've got a boner!" I was just going to say the same thing. It was weird to hear a laugh track.

Muscle up, Danny! 4-1 Sox.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 01:00 PM) Coming into yesterday's game, Fields had an OBP this season .001 higher than Uribe's lifetime OBP yet Fields is a star and Uribe is garbage. I think this is based on the thought/hope that Fields will develop and show more, and that Uribe has shown everything he has and can only decline.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 07:47 AM) Dang, I'm sorry. I just sent you an email. Since you have a headache now, go easy on the headbanging that will follow with the email. I'm actually feeling pretty okay today. A fair amount of soreness in the shoulders and back, but otherwise no worse for wear. Grabbed some ibuprofen and slept for about 7 hours. Just got up a little while ago. I might take tomorrow off work if it doesn't subside, but I got lucky in the bigger picture. I felt bad for the guy in the middle of the crash, he was shook up big-time. He couldn't even write down anyone's info, his hands were shaking so hard. Almost got hit on the way home, too. Some douche changed lanes and forced the guy in the middle lane into my lane. I was like "What the f***, man??!!?!?"

QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 12:40 AM) sue 'em for all their worth! emotional damage as well as "paralysis from the waist down"... don't forget to wear the the neck cast thing... I'd try for "paralysis from the neck up", but they could cite a pre-existing condition.

Got in a 3-car accident today on my way to work. A car hit the guy behind me and he hit me in turn. Felt OK at the time, but now I have a headache and I feel a little tired. Still have about two hours to go before I can go home. Good times. At least the car wasn't badly damaged.

I remember back when the Sox were just beginning their Descent Into Suck and I was joking about the 8/22 game being the Battle For The Cellar. That joke's not funny now.

Wednesday is my last scheduled Sox game this year, and I get to see Jose Contreras pitch.....and likely half the bullpen, too. OH, GOODIE.

QUOTE(max power @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 06:30 AM) OK, so we have to be at home or winning. Splitting hairs a little, but we are at home on monday. Or maybe if Ozzie wants to get Bobby some work if the M's blow the Sox out today.

I can't get any of my yard work done because of this rain. Somehow, this isn't making me happy.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 01:05 AM) Three years ago, a friend gave me a Mini Disc walkman. The software enabled you to fit up to 6 hours of music on your MD through compression. The battery life off a single AA battery was stunning. Over 60 hours of play off a single battery! I can routinely get 5-6 hours from my iPod though, which is good for a week and a half at the gym, or a couple days if im commuting by train. 5-6 hours is about what I get, too, but I have a 7.5 hour worknight on Sundays, so you can see the suckage involved for me.

6-3 M's now. Damn, what a craptastic season this has been.

QUOTE(KevinM @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) AJP with a bommmmmmmmmb 3-0 That ball was cranked! M's just scored, it's now 3-1 Sox.

Ike Barinholz's impression of Dane Cook = so much funnier than Dane Cook.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 09:42 PM) Critic, are you finally deciding you like your Pod!?! I still don't know if I like it, but I appreciate how easy it is to carry a large collection around with it. It's annoying how quickly the battery runs low, but I don't know how I'd get around that anyway. I guess I like it if only because I couldn't listen to the Adam Carolla Show on the train or at work without it. ....I don't think Apple will be calling me for an endorsement anytime soon, though....
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) Damn it, when is Bobby going to get his chance? Oh yeah, we actually have to be winning late in a game... Not necessarily. They were down 6-0 when Bobby tied the record.

QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 11:43 AM) That was funny, but not Orton's fault. That's true, it wasn't his fault, but for me the funniest part was Orton going for the move again immediately. No improvising or anything like that, just re-do the spot right away. -
QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 01:31 PM) Must be nice to be married and get free stuff I went out and bought a new stereo for my car and an ipod to go with it. I generally listen to wrestling/MMA podcasts, but I'll see if I can find any of the Carolla shows. Must be nice to be young and believe that anything's free when you're married. Have you heard Monday Night Countdown? That's my favorite rasslin podcast.

Don't torture yourself. Let it go. He's a Diamondback and no amount of ulcers will change that.

I saw a commercial for that upcoming "Cavemen" series this morning - did they not even hire the same guys from the Geico commercials? It didn't look like them. That is the only thing that could make this idea any worse - it's bad enough to base a series on a commercial, but then to hire someone else to play the guys from the commercial?? Dumb.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 11:04 PM) Critic, I finally broke down and bought an iPOD for my long commute to work now. What say you to that, sir? I say you're WAY ahead of me, sir! I had to be given one by my wife, because I was being a total douche technophobe. Just one more reason why I love her - she knew I'd use the damn thing all the time despite my whining about my being "just fine with my CD Walkman". The first thing you need to do is find the podcasts of the Adam Carolla Show and enjoy the goodness!!!

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 10:03 PM) Hey Butlerboy, have you heard it yet??? Of course I haven't - Michael hasn't sent it to me yet. I'm just going off of history. The wife LOVES Matchbox 20, but I'm just so-so on them. I have a couple of their songs on the Pod, but I wouldn't call myself a fan. I just didn't expect you to like them at all.
