QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 11:11 AM) Orton was massive back in January. He was obviously on something. You can tell he lost a lot of that muscle so I assume he is off steroids now. Can you suspend someone for something he was doing 7 months ago? If you're trying to fend off Congress, I guess you can. Some other guys on that list stopped buying (if not using) before Orton did. -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 10:19 AM) I just tried for about 10 minutes to find a picture of a shirtless Piper from Cyber Sunday 2006, but I can't. http://www.wwe.com/shows/cybersunday/photos1/ Picture number 25 - it's kind of a far shot, but Piper's enormous belly is clearly shown. (PS - took approximately 30 seconds to find it. ) -
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 11:45 PM) The Big Leg Drop can smash and defeat anything, even a Supra. The most impressive thing was when the Supra hit Hogan at 75 mph and Hulk no-sold it.

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 11:30 PM) I listen to podcasts on my iPod, and all of a sudden today I can't get them to work. All of the music I have loaded will play, but under podcasts, it shows nothing. I have them in iTunes, and I have them checked to be synced to the iPod, but they don't show up anywhere. Anyone have any idea how to get them to load? Mine does the same thing. I've tried to subscribe to podcasts, but my podcast area is always empty even when the podcasts show on iTunes. I don't subscribe to the podcasts I like anymore, I just download them as mp3s, set the genre as "podcast", and find them by pressing "music, genres, podcast", then the artist.

QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 10:21 PM) All of HBK's bumping was out landish that match. I don't know if he was doing it to mock Hogan or just make him look good. He was doing it to mock/protest Hogan's refusal to job to push their feud, and Hogan's insistence that he had to look strong in the match (read: not selling HBK's offense that much). That was really funny stuff, but you had to have some idea of the backstage politics to get the joke. I'm sure a lot of people were wondering what the hell was wrong with HBK that night. -
Ugh. I'm so tired of the Deification of Aaron Rowand around here. I hope the Phillies massively overpay for him and give him a lifetime contract with a rock-solid no-trade clause - MAYBE that would slow down the Pope Aaron blather on the board. Nothing will ever STOP the Jesus H. Rowand chatter, but maybe the removal of any hope for his return could dampen it. I wouldn't have minded him coming back before, but right now I'm so sick of his name that I never want to see him in US Cellular Field again.....until his statue is built, of course..... (COME BACK, VOMIT SMILEY!!!! ALL IS FORGIVEN!!!!)

QUOTE(Shadows @ Aug 27, 2007 -> 07:42 PM) man, she still doesn't look like she used too.. that picture definitely has the look of someone who hit rock bottom and had to bust it to try and get back to what they used to be True she doesn't look like she did a decade or so ago, but who does? Well, I do, but I was fat a decade ago, so it's not the same thing.... -

Amy Dumas (aka Lita) is back with her pre-wrestling punk band, The Luchagors. http://luchagors.com They're okay - nothing spectacular, but not vomit-inducing either. -

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) 10 WWE wrestlers suspended for Wellness Policy violations. As of Nov 1, these will be made public. top story on http://corporate.wwe.com/ As of the next week or two of live shows and TV tapings, we should have a pretty clear idea of who they are. -
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 07:44 AM) RIP. I had the pleasure of visiting CBGBs a few times and yes I have a T-Shirt which I bought many years ago. I don't wear it any more because every 13 year old owns one without any clue as to what the letters even stand for. It stands for "Condemned Building, Garbage Burning", right?
-
On Q101 (ironically enough) their morning zookeeper actually said something I found funny: "This means all the trendy people who would have never gotten within 100 miles of CBGB's can wear their CBGB t-shirts at half-mast" When they announced that CBGB's was closing my wife asked me if I wanted to go there before it closed. I told her that I liked the Ramones, I didn't care one bit about CBGB's. I have no emotional tie to that club, and aside from the Ramones and to a much lesser extent Talking Heads, I didn't care too much about most of the bands who played there.

Now reports are coming out that Owen has had a problem with heroin for a while, and that may be behind the suicide attempt. Of course, nothing has been substantiated, so I'm taking it with a grain of salt.
-
QUOTE(longshot7 @ Aug 28, 2007 -> 02:15 PM) there is, but nowadays, a band has a different shirt for each region - to make more money, y'know. It seems like that would make less money, since a band could print one shirt for the entire country rather than several designs for each region. But since shirts are outrageously priced at shows anyway, I guess they're going to make a huge profit no matter what.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 28, 2007 -> 10:38 AM) BOT, CNN and the like have backed off the suicide angle. That's good to hear - I really hope it wasn't a suicide attempt. There's too much of that in the world already.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 28, 2007 -> 10:29 AM) Just us old folks doing what old folks do.. Well, if THAT's the case, I know I'm older than the both of ya, so FETCH ME MY SLIPPERS AND SOME LEMONADE, ya whippersnappers!!!!

QUOTE(michelangelosmonkey @ Aug 28, 2007 -> 10:25 AM) Man...I did love Harry...as a kid every fly ball was to the warning track. Isn't it odd how something that made Harry lovable is now reviled when Hawk says "GET UP! STRETCH!!" for warning track flyballs? Not saying that you personally said that (I don't know your feelings on Hawk), but many people do seem to hate when he says that. -
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 27, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) I think you all should just settle this with duel. Quit the screwing around and settle it like gentleman. Steff, you supply the soda, I'll bring the popcorn. Critic cam emcee. Oh sure, you and Steff sit around with refreshments while you put me to work! How about providing some live music at the duel instead, you darn lazy-bones???

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 27, 2007 -> 02:50 PM) Have we done that since 05? They said the 3 off Randy in August of 05 was the last time.
-
And now it's an interesting game all of a sudden. 3 straight bombs - AJ, JD and Uribe. 4-3 Rays.
-
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 27, 2007 -> 01:19 PM) She's breaking a lot of hearts. Never trust a smile that cute. Owen should just remember that she MARRIED Chris Robinson, so her judgment was flawed coming in.

This thread just reminds me how many ways the Sox have tried to kill me over the years. Which may also explain why I'm clutching onto 2005 as tightly as I am. When I think back to all the times the Sox built up my hopes, only to flame out in the 2nd half or lose in the playoffs, that Series win just feels more and more special. Right or wrong, I may never let go of 2005. But I do agree that Sox management needs to, if they ever plan on getting there again. -
Delmon Young goes yard. 2-0 Tampa.

One more team to catch for the #1 pick.

My wife's theory is that he's probably still not over Kate Hudson breaking up with him for Dax Shepard.
