  1. OF COURSE a local newsperson can be that stupid!!! ...by the way, this thread is useless without (swimsuit) pictures....
  2. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 04:15 PM) went to the one in Burbank - Buzz cola is just horrible. It's probably just leftover New Coke.
  3. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 03:32 PM) Cena, Jericho, and Bret Hart on Larry King tonight. Let's hope they touch Larry and he crumbles into a pile of dust with suspenders and glasses. Jericho did a very nice job on that stupid shrew Nancy Grace's show, so Larry's puffball parade should be a walk in the park.
  4. If he calls the high strike, I like him. The "belt buckle to kneecaps" strike zone is ridiculous. Of course, most hitters would have s***fits if he consistently called the strike zone as it's supposed to be called.
  5. Would you have a suicide hotline for ss2k5 when he loses his 6,485,784 posts? Whatever you guys need to do is cool with me, too.
  6. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 01:25 AM) Konnan was on the Wrestling Observer Show this evening, and didn't hold back at all. Highlights included... -Him leaving TNA was a combination of lies & being shorted money for the last 5 years. -TNA offered to pay for his hip replacement and kidney transplant, but wanted the money back paid in full. -TNA wanted to re-sign him for a lower rate, but couldn't understand why Christian & Angle were getting huge offers. -Told Homicide & Hernandez not to leave because he was. Even though all of the mid-carders are frustrated that they're being buried. -Also stated that BG James, Kip James, & Senshi have asked for their release, which TNA has told them no. Konnan is a whiner. The only lie I can imagine TNA telling him is that he was as popular as ever. He's a decent mouthpiece (if a bit stale), but he can't really work in the ring anymore, which even affects his role as a manager. So TNA should've paid in full for his medical expenses? Suuuuuuuuure they should have. Classic Konnan - instead of being grateful to them for fronting the money for something that could have killed him, he focuses on what they didn't do. He walked out on a valid contract which had yet to expire and he owes TNA money, so he's as guilty of "bad business practices" as he claims TNA to be. If he can't understand why Christian and Angle were getting better offers than he got, he's delusional. And I don't know what TNA would possibly do without the Old Age Outlaws and The Deep-Voiced Elf.
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 01:58 PM) I find it very hard to believe that folks who take care of a child as intimately as a grandparent would not know of such a serious medical issue. Time will tell I suppose. I also find that really hard to believe, but many people in the business have stated that if Chris didn't want you to know something, you wouldn't know. But maybe they're saying that because of all the things they're finding out that they never knew. As you said, only time will tell.
  8. Doesn't this actually make Mark MORE attractive to possible trade partners, since he won't be a "rental" anymore and his salary would be locked in for five years?
  9. QUOTE(Shanks @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) Local H is a phenomenal pair of musicians I really do wish they'd get a full-time bassist so Scott could concentrate on his guitar parts. I've seen him in a couple of his full-band side projects (most notably Cisco Pike) and he is a damn good player when he can just let it rip.
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 03:03 PM) Was up 2 sets to nothing, ended up choking and losing the next 3 sets in the semifinal. I don't watch much tennis anymore, but what is this guys deal? He just mentally blew it. I blame Bartman.
  11. They can't do a goddamned thing right today. Unreal. What a terrible game. (What a terrible team.) FICKXSORZ!!!!
  12. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) Garland has given up 18 runs to the Twins this year in 9.1 innings. Is that bad?
  13. I didn't see this anywhere, and don't really know where to put the thread, so here is as good as anywhere else. Check out the "ad" at Local H's website: http://www.localh.com/ On July 14th the Sox are holding The Nike+ Rock N Run, which starts at Old Comiskey's home plate, ends inside USCF and is followed by a free concert by Local H. Sounds like fun!

QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 07:13 PM) Damn, I wonder if she got that before or after they started dating... But, really, come on... Why would you ever get someone else's name tattooed on yourself? I mean, what happens if they break up in a few years, and she's 24 with some dude's name tattooed on her. I guess I'd still hit it, but that would be a little odd for future boyfriends to have to see that... Well, she could always make some tattoo adjustments - maybe have them write this above the tattoo of his name: "What's below this tattoo is even more masculine than...."

QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 02:33 PM) I have trouble dating a girl who is more than 5 years younger than me for some reason. Because they keep saying "Ewwwwww, get away from me, creepy old man"? Is THAT the reason??
  16. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) Say what you want about Orton, but pro wrestling is always better and more entertaining with a heel champion! While I agree in principle about heel champs being better, I think it depends on the personality of the champion involved. In the way back, Bruno Sammartino was the most popular champ going and the WWWF prospered under his reign. We all know what Hogan did for wrestling. Austin and the Rock were both champ during the E's more recent prosperous runs. Persuasive arguments for the other side of the coin would be Ric Flair and the nWo. So even though heel champs are more fun to me personally, an argument can be made that a charismatic face can be just as good for business. It's just a shame that the E has almost zero charismatic anyone these days.
  17. QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 02:20 PM) Possibly the best news evar I can't think of many things that would make me long for another Triple H title run, but taking the strap from Randy Resthold would be one of them.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 12:19 AM) We saw Ratatouille this weekend...what a beautifully made movie. One of the best films of the year. We were so hungry afterwards we had to get French food. We went to Cyrano's on Wells. Wonderful. Anyway... This is not your expected animated fare full of recent pop culture jokes and big name stars phoning in voice over performances. In fact, two of the main characters in the movie are voiced by middle-level Pixar employees and they are perfect. The visuals in this film are breathtaking. The longshots of Paris are like postcards. The street scenes filled will fog and light add the romance of the city and the story. The food...wow. I have never seen animated food look so delicious. You could smell the kitchen. The characters and the film's message are refreshingly not spoon-fed to you. This is an intelligent script that doesn't talk down to the kids or to the adults. Don't think kids won't enjoy that. My son is 8 and he loved every second of it. There will be talk about it's opening weekend and how it's lower than other Pixar films. Don't let this discourage you. This film, unlike the other Summer fare, is original, funny and touching and will have the legs to last the summer. Spread the good word and go see it! BTW, the short before the film is called "Lifted" and it is hysterical!!! We also really enjoyed Ratatouille. I liked that it was a lot more subtle than most kids' movies, while still being active and funny enough to keep kids' attention. And for what it's worth, I think the moive companies should go back to hiring voiceover people to voice cartoons. Kids don't care who voices a cartoon rat, and adults shouldn't care if a "star" does it. It's a waste of money, and completely unnecessary.
  20. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 01:07 PM) All that work and the Cubs only picked up one game this weekend. Hopefully the Pirates allow for the Brewers to get some easy wins. The Cubs and Brewers flip-flop series against the Pirates and Nationals this week, so in theory there shouldn't be much of a change in the standings. Even if they have identical weeks, that's one more week's worth of games off the books with Milwaukee 6 and 1/2 games ahead. The Cubs and Brewers only play each other 3 more times this season, so head-to-head games won't make up that difference.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 07:19 PM) umm very few people have even brought up the thought of trading Jenks and those that have were quickly verbally abused for such a though, so what exactly is this thread trying to prove? To prove that you can create a thread about NOT trading him and still be verbally abused?
  22. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 04:41 PM) Like Keith and I were talking about today, with Lang, YP in the fold, if everything goes according to plan (no huge injuries, Kane/Toews contribute pretty well), you will have a Hawks team that is not only in a rebuilding phase, but will be right there til the end as far as the 7-8 playoff spot is concerned. I'd welcome that after the past few years. I guess so. Too bad we've been conditioned to expect much worse.
  23. I don't know if I buy this, but here's an article from the Sun newspaper from England: http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2003560...7300340,00.html It says he used the Crossface to strangle his son. Isn't the Sun kind of "Enquirer-ish"?
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 11:29 AM) LOL.. I guess I can be mocked since I continue to pay YOOOOU KEEEEEEP PAYYYYYINNNG, NYAH NYAH NYAHNYAHNYAHHHHH!!!
