  2. Who are you, and what do you do that makes you famous?
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 21, 2007 -> 05:34 PM) Cubs/Sox series' are not big series anymore. At all. I agree 100%. To me, all this series means is that there's one less ballgame on TV that day.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 12:13 PM) aaaaaand Satan shovels some extra coals into TC's room. By now, he must have a conveyor belt dumping fresh coal into my little corner of Hell. Is it hot in here, or is it just me?
  5. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 11:59 AM) Konnan was a great mic piece for LAX. They had Hernandez (aka the Tex Mex T-Rex -- one of the greatest nicknames ever that he gave himself in IWA:MS) for the power and brute force, Homicide for the high flying/strong style and technical work and Konnan for all the mic work. Not having Konnan might leave a bit of a black hole in the promo department for LAX. TNA will hire a hot Mexican piece of ass to walk to ringside with LAX and have interruptions/run-ins whenever they try to do a promo - PROBLEM SOLVED! Konnan is a good mic guy, but he gets a bit stale and relies too much on catchphrases. The basic premise of LAX ("Whitey" keeping La Raza down) could only stretch so far anyway IMO. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 01:27 PM) SPOILER. On Smackdown it's revealed that a 3rd strand of DNA not belonging to McMahon is found in the limo... *dun dun duhhhhhhhhhhh* So let me get this straight - McMahon is still "presumed dead" because they can't find the body, yet they can find loose strands of DNA? f***ing horrible.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 10:17 AM) Exactlty. this is a deal where you take your losses and move on. Barrett must have been a total asshole if they shipped him out for that little. Aside from being an asshole, Barrett's play had dropped to the point of being absolutely horrible. He's never been a good defensive player, but he had become worthless defensively and pretty bad with the bat too. [Tim McCarver]NOT a good combination.[/Tim McCarver]

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 11:28 AM) No, but I read there's a lot of controversy about some of the things the film maker did to make the film. Do these "things" involve banana peels???
  8. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 11:23 AM) Konnan has quit TNA before the tapings of impact! yesterday. Supposedly, he's been granted his release. Ron Killings also has asked for his release. Won't miss either of them all that much. Konnan was mildly interesting with LAX, but still no big loss. Ron Killings = exactly zero.

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 10:11 AM) Id like to add I got Smokin Aces on Netflix and I thought it was terrible. I fell asleep during it the first time I tried to watch it and turned it off an hour into it the second time I tried. The movie tried too hard to be edgy and cool, and failed at being either. And I think Jeremy Piven is better in smaller roles. I like him, but in small doses.
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 12:49 PM) i saw on one of the websites (i know, they're not usually reliable) that WWE will watch ratings closely, and if this angle stiffs, they'll wrap it up quickly It's already gone on too long.
  11. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 08:29 AM) Only botches I noticed were JR botching move names and people involved in the match. During the Londrick match, I was amazed that he didn't call Spanky's finisher "Two slices of bread". HEY, MAN, let the poor guy grieve, OKAYYYY? He just lost his friend, his boss, his benefactor ONE WEEK AGO and you expect him to be spot-on perfect so soon???? ....heartless bastard, is what you are....
  12. Randy Orton kills Mick Foley's promo. Unforgivable. So boring. Thank God King Bookahhhh comes out to try to remove the stink of Orton's mic awfulness. But then BoreMe Lashley comes out to attempt to mumble incoherently and stink things right up again, but gets Cena'd before he can gurgle a single word. What a clusterf***. This stupid, stupid storyline is going to ruin the entire summer of Raw.
  13. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 07:24 PM) Major Brothers? I wanna reminice about the old ECW days as well. I remember every Sunday morning after an Arena show, I was online seeing what went down and used to trade tapes online. I was such a loser about it. I miss the old days of competition. Even when WCW was sh*t, you would watch to see what happens. Those were fun times, weren't they? Having three legitimate options (WWE, ECW and WCW) was really good times, even though, as you said, WCW slowly became unwatchable. And it was fun to be part of the "underground" ECW fanbase and to watch ECW on a crappy UHF station at 11:00 on Saturdays or whenever it aired (I think it was 11 on Saturday nights) was cool in its own way, too. Good times, but unfortunately times I don't see repeating any time soon.
  14. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 02:22 PM) Awesome. By the way, bmags, if you're around anywhere... I'm gunning for your "Most Musical" award. Your Kelly Clarkson review disqualifies you from consideration. I'm enjoying a band called My Teenage Stride. They sound like the soundtrack to a John Hughes film he never made. 80's retro sound, but more in the vein of The Smiths than Joy Division.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 10:39 AM) I really miss the ECW shows at the Odeum. For beginners, it was 5 minutes from my house. Actually though, they were a ton of fun and very affordable. ROH comes close to it, but something about the ECW crowd and wrestlers was just awesome. I think the first time they ran the building Bubba Ray almost started a riot, got a chair thrown at him and it hit the ref. Their heel gimmick is one of the greatest of all time IMO Those shows were the most fun I ever had as a wrestling fan. I had more fun waiting in line to get into the Odeum than I ever had at a WWE or WCW card. The people who went to ECW shows were LOONIES, and that made it all that much more fun. The only things that compared for me were the Bob Luce/AWA shows at the old Amphitheatre on Halsted.
  16. MVP's okay, but he just doesn't seem to fit his character. He doesn't play the cocky asshole superstar that well IMO. He needs to study interviews with the TRUE arrogant jags, like Terrell Owens, Barry Bonds, Keyshawn Johnson, Rickey Henderson, etc. That would help him greatly, I'd think.
  17. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 11:53 AM) I for one would be happy to oblige Jessica Alba just wants sex I don't believe this for one second. I think this is one of those things female celebrities say to keep guys talking about them, along with suggesting that maybe they'd be open to a lesbian thing. If she meant this, she wouldn't be talking about it, she'd be out getting pounded by random guys. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 09:11 PM) Who is dumber Jessica Alba or Eva Mendes? Show business is The Land Of Not-Too-Smart.
  18. Zambrano with a beautiful play to preserve his no-no. The ump made the right call, DeRosa kept his foot on the bag.
  19. Jacobs Field is my favorite. I enjoyed everything about that ballpark. Least favorite was Dead Busch. I smiled when they tore that armpit down.
  20. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 01:34 PM) See? when you edit out the restholds, you get 3 minutes of Orton "action". QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) Now I wonder how the fans are going to react to this angle given a real 10 bell salute needs to happen for the hall of famer...they are going to crap all over this Vince gimmick now given this tragic death. They'll probably skip the salute and just do the on-screen tribute before the show starts.
  21. I know I'm going to hell, but I gotta..... Was she in the limo with Vince???? ....I know.....I suck.....I'm sorry.
  22. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 03:08 PM) source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter The feeling on Chris Jericho right now is that there is no deal and place and that he won't be back until the fall at the earliest. That is of course if finally agrees to a deal. Furthermore, the company recently reached out to Big Show due to the lack of depth on the roster because of the recent rash of injuries. Show told them that he wasn't interested in returning to WWE. They'd probably draft Jericho to ECWWE and job Show off to The Khali. ...or maybe Show would drag McMahon's casket around behind his car for a while... (I know Bossman rode Show's daddy's casket around, but it's the closest I could get to make the joke work....so sue me.... )
  23. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 03:13 PM) what about our line up though? i guess it's been so many games by now that what you see is what you get. chicago's offense is a joke and the players are just stealing millions from the organization right now. 4th highest payroll for this? I could do better than KW. The only thing everyone expected this team to be able to do was hit. There were questions about the rotation, the bullpen was questionable and the defense was in doubt, but this team was going to hit. I don't know what the problem is, but the offensive ineffectiveness we're seeing now is something VERY few people mentioned as a possibility coming into this season.
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 11:59 AM) After he asked them to refrain the first time that should have been enough. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but the article seems to state that after Pierzynski apologized, their table didn't say anything further and yet Paul came back twice more. If they continued to talk loudly and cuss, then Paul was within his rights to come back and re-state his objections, but that's not the way the article reads to me.
  25. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 12:04 PM) Wether or not true, there is no way that could have been the ending. They were working on a hot tag to Benoit for a good 5 minutes, only for the ref to call for the bell. Then everyone just kind of froze up for a second only for Benoit to improvise and lay it out on Burke. I know thw inital report was that it was for house shows only, but it seems they definitly extended it to TV, atleast in this case. Could have just been a crappy ref, or a ref having a crappy night. Too bad Vince isn't around to straighten things out anymore....
