QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 07:35 AM) There's Killers fans here...especially The Critic. He even has the glow-in-the-dark tapestry print of the bands early promo pics. It's pretty cool. Just creepy that he hangs it above his bed. I think it's much creepier that you are speculating in what might be above my bed.... ....I've heard stories about 30-something men with MySpace pages..... I don't know if I'd call myself a fan of the Killers. I am a fan of Hot Fuss, but I found Sam's Town to be pretty dull.

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 01:01 PM) I'm already planning for next JHD. I am taking the day before and day after off for planning and recovery. Hey JHD only comes but once a year. Unfortunately, I have to return a few of my JHD gifts that didn't fit. Oh those day after Jennnifer Hudson Day return lines. I knew I should've got to the mall at 6am to avoid the crowds. I just think JHDay has gotten too commercial, and we as a society have forgotten the true meaning of Jennifer Hudson Day. I mean, just look around your neighborhoods - the decorations have barely come down from Carrie Underwood Day when the newspapers are FLOODED with pre-JHDay sales advertisements! Now that Jennifer Hudson Day has passed, how long until we see the inflatable Ruben Studdards popping up all over town? No one stops to smell the marginally talented singers anymore..... [Note: I wanted so badly to have Carrie Underwood Day be Clay Aiken Day, but I didn't want to see that Homer Simpson map again!]

Man, I don't know about YOU guys, but I am hung over like a motherf***er after all those Jennifer Hudson Day parties!!! DAMN! Step aside, St. Patrick's Day!! Move over, New Year's Eve!!! There's a NEW drinkin' holiday in town, and it's name is JENNIFER! HUDSON!! DAY!!!! ....recognize, b****es....

Trouble on the way for Kurt Angle? Lords Of Pain reports: "Sports Illustrated has added a story today on their website concerning the recent allegations of steroid/HGH sales at Florida's Palm Beach Rejuvenation Center. The story broke last week after several professional athletes were listed as customers. In today’s article the story lists Kurt Angle as a new name added to the list of people being investigated. The article states: "Kurt Angle, a 1996 Olympic gold-medal-winning freestyle wrestler and now a star professional wrestler, received two prescriptions for trenbolone and one for nandrolone between October 2004 and February '05. (Angle did not return messages left with his spokesman.)" Both trenbolone and nandrolone are anabolic steroids and during the time of receiving these prescriptions he was under contract with World Wrestling Entertainment."

What a letdown. I work downtown, and I decided to take a walk during my lunch break. And I must ask you: Why is there NO f***ing parade for JENNIFER HUDSON DAY????? And after I brought little Jennifer Hudson-shaped cookies (well, okay, they weren't exactly little) to work and everything!! I'd have brought a mix CD of her greatest hits, if I'd ever heard a single goddamned note she ever sang. Everyone at work was telling their favorite stories about never meeting her or knowing anything about her. It's too bad she'll have disappeared by this time next year - Jennifer Hudson Day is a HOOT!!!

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Mar 6, 2007 -> 08:07 AM) FWIW, Wrestlingobserver.com (a good source for Wrestling and MMA) said it looks like WSX will be brought back 3/13 Yeah, but I read on Lords Of Pain that it's just a single episode that they had already filmed, and there's no plan at this point to bring WSX back full-time. They're dropping the ball on WSX more than Rashan Salaam did for the Bears.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 05:14 PM) At least they gave respect to John Paxton.. Not if they spelled his name "Paxton", they didn't....

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 01:43 PM) That show just perpetuates the myth that George Lopez is funny. That's a "myth" that I buy into. Lopez makes me laugh quite a bit.

Just watched the "speak preview" of the first two episodes of the show. My first impression? It's not bad. Contrived (of course), but nowhere near as contrived as Hogan Knows Best. I'm not expecting anything spectacular from this show, but I will keep watching. "You got a f***in' PROBLEM wit dat???"

Apparently, if you believe their "big cheese" Wrestling Society RIP is actually only Wrestling Society TBD. Here's the statement from the CEO of WSX's parent company (I've bolded the parts I found most interesting): "First, I want to thank all of the wrestling fans and press for their support, not only over the past few, confusing, days, but since the debut of WSX on MTV. Earlier today we spoke with executives at MTV and can now share with you the following. MTV is making no statement in regards to canceling Wrestling Society X. However, WSX will be pulled off the Tuesday night lineup in order to strategize the best way to bring the show back to the network and to the fans. Although the show has not been performing as well as the network had hoped in the Tuesday night lineup, we have been told that other MTV departments including MTV 2, MTV Online, MTV Mobile, and MTV Video-On-Demand are 100% behind Wrestling Society X. Additionally, the Creative and Development executives at MTV have commended us on the production of the show and are saddened by the lack of response due to scheduling mishaps and under-promotion. Until details are released regarding when the next NEW episode of WSX will air, all four previous episodes will be available on www.WSX.MTV.COM along with their WSXtra counterparts. Furthermore, fans with MTV Video-On-Demand can watch both the regular episodes and WSXtras on their TVs. From all of us here at Big Vision Entertainment, we thank you for your continuing support and look forward to bringing you more of the evolution of sports entertainment shortly! Sincerely, Houston Curtis CEO Big Vision Entertainment" 1.) Not sure I believe the "pulled to strategize" bit, since MTV hasn't referred to it as a hiatus or anything like that. We'll see in time, I guess. 2.) What scheduling mishaps would MTV be referring to? To the best of my memory, the only scheduling change came when they pulled an episode for a FIREBALL!! FIREBALL!! FIREBALL!!!

It's absolutely laughable how completely the Red Wings dominate the Blackhawks. 1-12-1 over the last 2 seasons. Beyond awful. Savard is starting to snap a little bit, and I don't blame him. It will be a sad day when Savard gets fired - I just hope the find another job in the organization (if he'd even want one at that point).

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 11:38 AM) As much as he's a joke now, for about 3 years in late 80s, Dice, was the biggest thing in comedy ever. He was absolutely huge. Jack and Jill went up the hill ....... oh she needed the money. A few years ago Dice did a tour and some friends of mine asked if I wanted to go. I said "Yeah, who's going to be the designated driver for the time machine?"

I have to say, of all the channels pumping out dumb reality TV, VH1 has at least given me some shows I have enjoyed. Examples being Breaking Bonaduce, The White Rapper Show, and Bands Reunited to name just a few. The list promises to grow this Sunday with the premiere of "Dice Undisputed", which follows noted 1980's poet, Fonzie aficianado and leather jacket spokesmodel Andrew Dice Clay on his journey to stop being a pathetic punchline from the 80's and to become once again a pathetic CURRENT punchline. SEE Dice apply dark hair coloring to his grey sideburns! WATCH in amazement as Dice manages to find EVEN BIGGER bedazzled leather jackets! ADMIRE Dice's flip-flopping between delusional bravado about his talent and legacy and the spirit-crushing reality that is his current place in the pecking order of showbiz today! GAWK at Dice's "so wacky and madcap that you'd ALMOST think they were made for TV" circle of friends!! GAZE at the unwashed legions (small, small legions, but legions nonetheless) of Dice's leftover fans who cheer him on in his unlikely quest to draw mid-level crowds once again! SEE IT ALL, starting THIS SUNDAY, MARCH 4TH at 9:00 PM Central time! Only on VH1, where "Celebreality" just got a little bit meaner...... Who's with me????

Wrestling Society R.I.P. "PWInsider.com is citing a MTV network source in reporting that Wrestling Society X was pulled from the network's lineup. The network reportedly made the call to pull the show Wednesday; the most recent airing of the show posted a low 0.6 rating. Wrestling Society X, which combined fast-paced wrestling action with music, was promoted as an alternative to WWE and TNA programming. After showing some ratings promise in its debut, its numbers quickly declined, bottoming out at a 0.5 for the penultimate airing. MTV will definitely not renew the series, but it could potentially air the remaining episodes at a later date. No details have been announced regarding any such plans." Not surprised at all - that show was a clusterf***. I won't miss it.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 07:31 AM) Let me go on record and say this. If Mark Cuban buys an MLB team, it will be one with a ton of unrealized value it in. He is not going to purchase a team that has topped out in its value. As a matter of a fact, the perfect team to connect him to would be the Pirates. They are run down, low budget, and cheap. If he were to go in there and work his magic like he did with the Mavs (I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember how low Dallas was back then) he could easily double to triple the value of his hometown baseball franchise. He would be a hero there. Cut it out, Mike! All this sense-talking in a Cubbie thread? What are ya....GOOFY??

Luke Stuckmeyer just announced during the Bulls broadcast that the Bears and Lovie Smith have agreed on a long-term contract extension. It's either a 4-year or 5-year deal. Monetary terms were not announced. Formal announcement due tomorrow.
