  1. And the kid's name is ESPOSITO!!!! If they just find prospects named Johnny MIKITA and Billy HULL, they'll be BACK IN BUSINESS, BAYBEEEE!!!!
  2. QUOTE(Dan @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 01:35 PM) So who's rooting for who in the Playoffs? Red Wings I've been a fan of theirs as long as I can remember. It was always the Hawks and the Wings for me. Still is, although Wirtz has seriously damaged my Hawk fandom.
  3. Red Wings showing the Hawks that Thursday's win was the definition of a fluke. 6-0 late in the second, and the score is absolutely indicative of the way the game's played out thus far.
  4. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 11:04 AM) I heard his radio show twice and it was the 2 worst shows i've ever heard in any format in the history of radio, my ears hurt, so this is no surprise. Yep. Coward is terrible even in the context of sports radio, which is over-run with unlistenable dolts.
  5. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 01:15 PM) The problem is that Jeremy Reed never had the ability to hit 15 homers or steal 25 bases. Maybe so, but Reed hasn't done any of the magical things he was supposed to be able to do. I don't know if Young will become what he has the potential to be, but it's just funny to me to see a thread pop up every time he does something for the D-Backs. Those Reed threads.....kinda not happening anymore....
  6. I've been re-reading Ric Flair's autobiography. I'm waiting for Mick Foley's latest book to go to paperback before I pick it up. Like Kid, I'm also only interested in higher-end reading materials....
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 10:43 AM) How about "The Voice of Everyday City"? I can't think of a way to make the "common people" or "everyday people" thing sound good. AND I don't really have any other suggestions for you, so I'm just going to leave now.
  8. GODDAMMIT, HOW COULD KENNY TRADE JEREMY REED????? ...oh, wait....sorry, that was the LAST Jesus Christ that Kenny traded away....
  9. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 07:43 PM) For Milkman and everyone else who enjoyed Mr. Perfect... Mr. Perfect tribute Add to My Profile | More Videos Oh God. John "The Coach" Tolos. Yuck and Ugh rolled into one......Yugh.
  10. QUOTE(Shamrock4Life @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 07:33 PM) watching the game on my big screen, thought not in HDTV because I don't have it through cable down here in Texas because the girl is lazy and I was on a rig when we decided to upgrade, i didn't think it hit him. but i also don't think it matters. i mean bases loaded no outs, there is no way we don't score with the way we swing for the fences. there was going to be at least one ball deep enough to score dye, or did we PH for him, don't remember. El Duque disagrees. And David Aardsma agrees with El Duque. I'm fairly sure the Sox would have scored, although a strikeout and double play is never out of the question.
  11. Somehow I think we'd be examining the replay like it was the Zapruder film if it was an Injun who got plunked to win the game.
  12. How about just being realistic and calling it "The Voice Of 6 Or 7 People?" I think the phrase "common people" has a negative connotation for whatever reason, so I think I'd steer away from it. How about just using something like "The Voice Of ________" (whatever community, county, town, region you're targeting)?
  13. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 02:42 PM) People didnt leave because of the wrestling in the main event. They left because Ohio State was in the National Championship game and Raw was in Ohio. I'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet. How about that awesome ECW main event? What's an ECW?
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 11:00 AM) So, you're advocating playing one game at 1 PM, another probably around 5 or 6 PM, getting done with the game around 9 PM, leaving town like 3 AM, getting into Oakland like 5 AM their time, and playing a game just 12 hours later after playing two games the night before? Sucking it up or not, that's pretty brutal, especially on an already heavily worked bullpen. Or, they could play a chilly night game in the first week of April. I blame the idiots who scheduled a night game for, let me say it again, the first week of April. There should be no night games until at the very least the 3rd week of April.
  15. QUOTE(shipps @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 05:23 PM) I bought concert tickets online for a show at the Beatkitchen.Iam confused about them,on the delivery it says it is "will call" delivery option but they are general admission tickets. So it doesnt mean I bought the tickets for "will call" did I? Sounds like it. I'd call the Beat Kitchen to ask about it. The Beat Kitchen is a fairly small place, I don't know if they have assigned seating or not.
  16. QUOTE(Balance @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 04:03 PM) Where'd AJ get hit? Was it a cheapie or a solid beanball? left arm. didn't even look like it hit him.
  17. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 01:07 PM) I thought he couldn't write again until May. He doesn't have to write again til May. He's written his quota of knee-jerk, windsock, dumb nickname filled, bendy-twisty shock-jock babblefestos until May.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 03:17 PM) Pods should be able to steal 2nd on this combination. nope
  19. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 12:29 PM) He would have fit in really well around here. I think it is so funny for any Sox fan to complain about flip flopping. There was many a day in '05 that I was the only person here who actually thought the skid was good and would help the post season. We have a lot of Mariottis here who post the same stuff that Mariotti publishes. This aint rocket science. Almost any fan can come up with the same stuff that is published daily in every newspaper in North America. Well, the main difference with that is almost everyone here wanted the Sox to succeed, and I truly believe that Hysteriotti roots for failure because an angry column is 1,000 times easier to write than a congratulatory one. He's a miserable little troll who unfortunately has far too great a presence for my liking.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 12:02 PM) No, we aren't WSI. While Jay Mariotti isn't Sox fans favorite reporter I see no reason why his articles can't be posted here. OOOOOHHHH, building up some animosity for the big softball game!!! NICE!!!!
  21. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 11:13 AM) Aren't Sanchez and Johnson ailing? By the way, is Borchard still with the Marlins? Maybe they'll send Olivo back too. :-) I CAN' HEAR YOU MAN. CAPS ARE MY STYLE AND IS FOR PROBABLY THE STYLE OF MY FELLOW PRINCETON GRADUATES!!!
  22. The only email I'd ever send to Hysteriotti would include just one thing: this link to Eric Zorn's beautiful column detailing Jaybird's hysterical flip-flopping during the 2005 season. http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_colum...ariottis_y.html
  23. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 11:01 AM) I ATE DONUGHTS AND NOW NEED TO GET SOME OF THE ENERGY OUT BY SCREAMING ALSO I KNOW THE TRADE THE SOX SHOULD DO: WHITE SOX TRADE: JOE CREDE JIM THOME PAUL KONERKO MARK BUERHLE JERMAINE DYE FLORIDA MARLINS TRADE: MIGUEL CABRERA HANLEY RAMIREZ SCOTT OLSEN ANIBEL SANCHEZ MIKE JACOBS THERE IS NO WAY THAT THE MARLINS CAN REFUSE THIS DEAL. ALL OF THOSE YOUNG PLAYERS ARE WORTHLESS TO THEIR FRANCHISE WHEN THEY GET THE PLAYOFFS THEY NEED SOME VETS WHO HAVE BEEN THERE AND WON A CHAMPIONSHIP. THE SOX ARE TRADING 4 WORLD SERIES RINGS FOR 0, MAYBE THEY WILL THROW IN A GUY LIKE JOSH JOHNSON. HEY BUDDY CABRERA WAS ON THE 2003 CHAMPS SO IT'S 4 RINGS FOR 1!!!! CABRERA WAS A GREAT PLAYOFF OUTFIELDERS THAT YEAR. MARLINS FOR PROBABLY MAKE THIS TRADE FOR THESE GUYS CUZ THEY AVERAGE 150 HITS A GAME AND THEY ARE A GREAT PLAYOFF PLAYER!!! DON' BELIEVE ME?? PRINCETON UNIVERSITY GRADUATE!!!!!!!!!!
  24. QUOTE(Dan @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 12:20 AM) Anybody going to the Hawks vs. Wings game? Havlat will be out but maybe there will be some fireworks. A home game will actually be televised. Dustin Buff was re-assigned to Norfolk. Wonder who the call ups will be since Havlat and Holmqvist are done for the season. Maybe they'll call up a couple more Koci's to work up the "hockey purists".
  25. QUOTE(JERMAINEDYE4MVP @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 01:52 AM) YANKEES FOR PROBABLY DEAL HIM TO US FOR GARLAND BECAUSE GARLAND AVERAGES 18 WINS A GAME AND IS A GREAT POSTEASON PITCHERS 2-0, 2.25 ERA IN 2 STARS. PRINCETON EDUCATION. YOU THINK YOU CAN TOP THAT? I DON' THINK SO. Damn, looks like Princeton for probably lets anyone in these days. And I wouldn't trade any pitcher who AVERAGES 18 wins a game and is a great postseason pitchers. Of course, what do I know? I don' go to Princeton.
