QUOTE(salty99 @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 10:53 AM) While Cubs and Opening Day sold out very quickly there are still a ton of good seats left in the upper deck. I would rather be in the first couple row of the upper deck then in the last rows in the outfield. If you pick best available this is what it will give you until the lower deck is completely sold out. If you pick Upper Box or Upper Reserved you can get seats in the first 5-10 rows of the upper deck. I did UD split-season seats last year. Not interested in the UD this year. I had only planned on one or two games this year, so it's not a big deal. The hangup is I need 3 seats. 2 and 4 are easier to get from ST people, but 3 isn't as easy. Maybe I should have another kid, to make it an even number of seats....

Just an "educated guess", but I believe SnR may be ovah. Hope I'm wrong, though, those were some wacky broadcasts.

Looks like I'm not going to the Cell at all this season. By the time Friday comes, there'll be almost nothing left. Oh well, have fun, you guys.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 10:07 AM) I'm right there with you on "Roxanne", but it was cool seeing them again. They have all aged well, and they sounded real good, and the arrangement on it had to please the toughest Police fan, as Copeland even got the chance to show off some. I like, but don't love them by any means, but even I had a huge smile on my face watching them again. I saw on Metal Sludge that the prices for the Vancouver show of their tour will be 50, 90 and 225 bucks. Looks like if I go, it's in the nosebleeds. I'm not paying 90+ bucks for any concert.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 06:04 AM) And Test has been taken off the road for wellness issues. The nice thing is, they took Test off the road for the wellness of the audiences. His awfulness was making everyone sick.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 07:37 AM) Well, considering the very first thing on the awards show (before credits or anything) was the sound of Sting saying "Hello, we're The Police, and we're back!", you really didn't have to like award shows to see it. I saw The Police, and pretty much nothing else. Finding out that they played my least favorite Police song (and one of my least-favorite songs of all time) made me feel okay about missing their performance.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 12:57 AM) I missed The Police. Anyone have the clip somewhere? I didn't tape the show, because I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate awards shows. I'm counting on YouTube to show me the only thing I cared to see, The Police. Haven't seen the clip on YouTube yet, though.

Wow, what a frantic ending to today's Hawks game. Hawks hold on to win 5-4, but they needed two key stops by Khabibulin to hold on. Fun to watch, for sure.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Feb 11, 2007 -> 10:42 AM) Thanks everyone! This was a surprise! Congrats, Ribbie! You a funny muthaf***ah!!! -
I put a year in as a Cub Scout. That was enough for me. I got bored with it quickly, and it got in the way of baseball. I liked the magazine, though - "Boys Life", wasn't it?

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) I wouldn't get every ROH DVD, but you won't regret buying some of the better ones (i.e. Joe/Kobashi) I know you don't like Joe but the show and matches are amazing. Saw Joe on iMpact! last Thursday and he seems to be gaining weight again. Does he have some kind of injury that's keeping him from training? ...or does Sizzler just have a KILLER all-you-can-eat deal?

Here's some classic Aerosmith, long before they became a pop-ballad joke. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMrXO5pK5g4

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 07:17 PM) Critic, just get some ROH DVD's. It'll quench your thirst for wrestling and it is pretty damn entertaining. That said -- ECWWE is now a vehicle simply to make Lashley look unstoppable as possible. Sorry, I'm distracted by the Chicago Spectacular Night 1 DVD (Jimmy Rave vs Nigel) Rave is such a good heel. After I get the Chicago Spectacular done, I've got Death Before Dishonor IV awaiting me. And oh yes -- the NWA in Vegas on Feb. 25 has announced Colt Cabana vs Super Porky. I await eagerly. /off to watch a Cage of Death between CZW and ROH. If I could find a place to rent the ROH DVDs, I would, but the only wrestling DVDs I buy are the retrospectives (Road Warriors, Monday Night Wars, Legacy of the AWA). I don't like watching the ROH clips on YouTube - in fact, about all I watch on YouTube are the shoot interviews. All ECWWE is now is an unfunny joke.

gee, I wonder if there's any possibility that Christy Hemme's "in-ring TNA debut" could be against Kippy Gunn? hmmmmmmm.......I wonderrrrrrr.......... Someone please give Russo another lobotomy - or at least steal his pen and paper.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) Steiner's transformation from the mullet having member of the steiner brothers to "Big Poppa Pump" is one of the funniest things. The Steiner Brothers are maybe the worst promo tag teams ever. It was always fun to watch Rick mouth what Scott was saying WHILE Scott was talking. Beautifully horrible.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) Nobody cries anymore when the bands walks on stage. I about cried when I saw the Goo Goo Dolls this summer. They were SO lame, and they used to be so good.

SCOTT STEINER is Christian Cage's "scout" for his match against Angle? What's Steiner going to teach Cage? How to bungle promos and blow up in three minutes? Awful, awful, awful..............only thing worse would have been Nash.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) I left at 3:45. I think the conclusion must logically be that we are both losers. Nahhh, I think the bigger story was that catastrophic 3-degree drop in only 30 minutes!!!
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 08:08 AM) Today was the first morning in a week, that is wasn't below zero when I left for work. It was two degrees. HAHAAAAA!!!! It was FIVE degrees when I left my house at 3:15 AM! ...but I left my house at 3:15 AM, so did I REALLY win??? I think not....

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 11:40 AM) I cannot imagine what it must be like to be a parent and want to take kids to games. Hell, for four tix that's easily $100 right there and then you get to the concessions... The cost has finally caused me to cut back on the number of games I go to. I could afford to go to more games with the Mrs. and the kid, but it's just not the value it used to be, especially since Mondays are not an option for us.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 09:26 PM) That's a LOT of entertainment value, my friend. She was okay-looking before the weight gain, but not one of my favorites.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 11:59 AM) Wow...why haven't I heard of them? They're damn good! Thanks! You managed to miss LMB's non-stop spamming for those guys?? I have to admit, they did eventually grow on me. I like about 5 of their songs. That "Chips Ahoy" song turned the corner for me, even though I think LMB considers that song one of their worst.

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 05:52 PM) I didn't mean to imply that those that don't like her, hate her. Indifferent is what I would guess most feel. Wow.. this is gross. On Wednesday, a judge in Los Angeles had ordered Anna Nicole Smith to submit her daughter, Dannielynn, to DNA testing by February 21st, after she had failed to a court-ordered date to comply last month. Smith has been in a protracted legal battle with photojournalist and former boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, who claims he is the true father of Anna's baby. Smith's lawyer and "boyfriend" Howard K. Stern is listed on the birth certificate as the father. After the news of Smith's death, an emergency hearing was scheduled to occur in Los Angeles on Friday regarding the paternity of Dannielynn. Birkhead's attorney, Deborah Opri, wants to take a DNA swab from Smith's corpse, which her lawyer calls "the lowest form of behavior I've ever heard of." I'm torn about swabbing her corpse. It seems morbid and low-rent on the surface, but do they need a DNA sample from her in order to do the paternity test? If they need her DNA to do the test, there aren't many options on how to get it, I'd think. I have no knowledge of how the paternity test works - I know my daughter is mine, and I don't watch Maury Povich.

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 05:27 PM) You're no fun. I think people hate her cause she spoke without consequence. Even regarding her marriage. The son that was stopping her from getting the money never wavered from the fact that he believed she loved his father sincerely. But where's the fun in not s***ting on someone flamboyant and out there. I didn't hate her by any stretch, I just didn't want to see or hear her because I didn't think she had any entertainment value aside from taking her clothes off. Even at that, I didn't think she was extraordinary. Nice enough looking when younger and thinner, then kind of sloppy and ditzy when a little older and fatter, then odd-looking and ditzy when older and thinner again. She simply wasn't interesting to me at all. Her passing is still sad in a general sense for me, but I don't feel any particular sense of personal loss when any celebrity passes. I don't feel like I know any celebrities, so a general sadness for those they leave behind is all I really feel when I hear this type of story.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 05:04 PM) Lotta speculating there, so I'll do some of my own. She was 40 years old and her kid is a baby. It's at least possible that she might have starightened herself out and given her kid a healthy, loving home. I've never really understood the public hate toward ANC and it seems to have always been around, not just lately. I know. She just died today and people are forgetting what her initials were already.
