  1. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) thats not the point! lol Uribe deserved a GG. It doesn't matter, Ozzie will just stack the AL all-star team with White Sox next year to make up for this grave injustice. I hope Ozzie doesn't put undeserving or borderline Sox players on the All-Star team next year. That's bulls*** when anyone else does it and it would be bulls*** if Ozzie did it. I know it's an exhibition and all that, but I don't like that no matter who does it.
  2. I just wanted to show off my amazing predicting abilities, from the preseason thread. ENJOY: AL East - Spanks AL Cent - Twinks AL West - LAAofAofCofUSAofNAofWHofPEofSS AL WC - Red Cubs NL East - Bravos NL Cent - Redbirds NL West - Pads NL WC - Phils AL Champ - Halos NL Champ - Birds World Series StL over Anaheim The ONLY two teams I don't have in the postseason? The two who made the World Series!!!
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) The White Sox got the only award that matters. They all got to hoist it up over their heads in front of millions of people in person and on television last Friday afternoon. Gold gloves while nice mean nothing. Didn't Palmiero win one a few years ago when he was primarily a DH? Its a popularity contest. The White Sox are World Champions. Who cares about anything else? I agree with every word of this. Let everyone else in MLB have the consolation prizes.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Yeah, but you get that feeling everytime you look in the mirror too, so it cant be that bad. nahhhh, I like it, it's the MIRROR that throws up!!!!
  5. Legal or not, I have zero interest in seeing that skit. Just reading the text of it made me dry-heave just a little.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) And while you're reading through that article...just think about those other ESPN guys who dubbed this the worst world series of the ESPN Era. ESPN is quickly becoming the worst sports network of the ESPN Era.....

    Secret Session

    Can't tell you......it's a secret.......
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) YW.. and congrats.. and what are you doing here..?? Gotta come up for air sometime....
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) It's really not a question of his talent. John is/was getting paid a LOT of $$. Sadly, it all boils down to the bottom line. If the $$ isn't there (advertising $$ mainly) they can't pay him. Hopefully the Sox are able to come to some terms with both the Score and John and he sticks around. Oh, trust me, I've been listening to enough radio to know that talent is not the defining factor - it's just sad to me that the Score will dump $1.5 mil per on an assbag like North, but are reluctant to pony up for someone who is great and respected at what he does. I'm not SURPRISED, by any means, it's just too bad.
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) I couldnt disagree more. Farmer is terrible as the play by play, and we got a taste during the playoffs and it was bad. It sounded like Monty in Major League "fly ball"....."caught" Rooney is one of the best radio guys in the league if not the best. He is enjoyable to listen to, and I will be very sad to see him go. That's my running joke about Farmer too. He's duller than paint drying and grass growing. It's incredible to me that the Score values the talentless Mike North but not the best PBP man in all of baseball, arguably. Maybe they want the Sox broadcasts to sound as s***ty and bland as the rest of their programming.
  11. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) I'll be 48 years old later this week, and for the first time in my memory, I am not the least bit sad that baseball season is over. I feel so content and fulfilled. It's been a long time coming, boys and girls. I'm only sad because it was such a fun ride - I never saw ONE White Sox postseason loss! On the night of their only loss of the postseason, I was playing a softball game so I didn't see a pitch of it.
  12. I know it's stupid, but when I go to put on my World Champions hat or shirt, I stop for a second and think, "The White Sox won the World Series.....they f***in' DID IT....." I know this feeling will fade into "just the facts" in time, but for now it's just so damn cool to realize that last Wednesday the White Sox WON the World Series!
  13. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) I still don't want Joe Crede. 6 more months of crappy hitting doesn't thrill me. He had a great post-season, but he still has never proved to anyone that he can sustain it for an entire year. That combined with pretty much every girl I know thinking he is hot gets old very, very quick. I know I'm wrong on this right now, but I'm going to continue thinking the White Sox can get better production from 3B until Crede proves his worth for six months. Sorry, man, but I have to disagree. His defense is more than solid and while he will continue to frustrate people at times, he has proven to be clutch at the plate from the 7th inning on. That kind of "game on the line" hitter is valuable to any team. The regular season is a grind, and most players will have ups and downs during that time. He proved his value, at least to me, on the grand stage. And my wife thinks he looks real good with the mullet, and even THAT doesn't sway my opinion.
  14. QUOTE(ISF @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) Everybody in this forum has been wrong at one time or another. What are the creators eating crow for? I ate my crow over the summer after a spring of making Pantywaist my whipping boy. Lame topic. We should be celebrating the trophy, not calling out fellow fans. Ahhhh, it's all in good fun. Everybody gets a plate of crow, cuz even The Human Torch, Damaso Marte, did his job in a key spot! I like a nice Weisse beer with my crow, btw....
  15. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) A lot of people wanted Crede out after the first playoff game because of how shaky he looked in the field. I thought it was because he was playing badly hurt. Could have been something as simple as nerves, too. These guys are human, which I think we have a tendency to underappreciate.
  16. Joe's playoff performance made up for every goddamned popup he has ever hit. I never wanted him gone, but I did call him Crediocre a few times, and I am currently enjoying my nice big plate of crow, followed with some yummy humble pie for dessert.
  17. OK, I listened to it. Aside from the announcers' audio clips, it does in fact suck hard. These songs are NEVER good.
  18. QUOTE(sickness212 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) Hey Guys, sorry to ask but I was wondering if anyone here has season tickets and maybe is looking for someone to split them up with? We are looking for around 30-40 games.. Thanks ! Why don't you go for a 27-game package and then buy individual game tickets after that?
  19. I agree except to say that the team seemed to stay strong and rally around each other when the lead was being whittled away by Cleveland. Those were trying times, and I have seen teams crack under that pressure and look for someone to blame ( see 2003 and 2004 Cubs ). It's a testament to this team that no one threw anyone under the bus. Even Carlito Loco was crying about himself ( being dropped from the 3 hole ) and not whining about anyone else.
  20. Nice hack job, Savvy! Very nice!!! You're like a little Tim McCracken with that knife!
  21. I am NOT sitting through a "musical performance" by Sheryl Crow. I'll wait for a report of Scott's appearance.
  22. Don't even need to hear it to know it sucks. There is a 0% chance of that song being good.
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) Haha poor Cheat http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42483 Well, maybe if he didn't lump links together, they wouldn't get lost in the shuffle.... Sorry about that, Gene Honda Cheat, I didn't see your link. Hilarious s*** either way. I bet BabyJay Windsock can have one HELL of an argument with himself, the way he takes both sides of any subject....
