I gotta say, as much as I'd like to be there, I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaate being wet and uncomfortable at the ballgame. It looks s***TY at the Bears game, and the Sox game stands to be the same + colder. Yuck.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 11:21 PM) I get home on the train from college today, my dad picks me up and has a ticket for game 2 just laying in the car. I don't think I've ever been so happy well atleast since sunday. I can't wait. :headbang He probably got tired of hearing you cry about the Cardinals.... My wife has a larger tolerance for whining, apparently, cuz there's no ticket waiting for me.....

QUOTE(Maury @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) Mr. Showtime special guest Wonder how many emails/IMs it took to get that added to the message? GO GET 'EM, YOU f***HEADS!!!!! Sox Astros

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 01:14 PM) I'm really excited. It's been hard to wait a week for this. J. Hood today compared the wait to the lull before the Super Bowl. I can't disagree. I have the VCR set for Comcast's pregame, then Fox's pregame and the game itself. I have to TRY to avoid any mention of the game while I'm out, and THAT's gonna be damn tough to do.

US Senate Resolution to honor Shoeless Joe Jackson
The Critic replied to RibbieRubarb's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(TLAK @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) From Joe Jackson's signed and sworn Grand Jury testimony on September 28, 1920: The original document is available at http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/f...shoelessjoe.pdf I don't want to rehash the whole black sox scandel, but my opinion is the 8 men were certainly on the take, got off in court only because throwing a baseball game was not a crime and got their justice in the life time bans. Movies and myths are quite entertaining but the first source documents are not refutable. Did Joe write his own transcript? Lots of typos in there... I don't know what this says, but I had the irresistable urge today to pop "Eight Men Out" in the DVD player. "Siddown, Buck, no one cares about your batting average...." and of course one of my favorite movie lines ever: "Twenty-nine is not thirty, Eddie." -
QUOTE(sickness212 @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 08:23 AM) Pardon my ignorance but Ihow many rows are in a standard section at US Cellular (Section 145) I am just making sure I will be happy with my seats in row 20. You'll be happy. There are like 33 rows to the lower sections. Have fun!

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 06:24 PM) Nope. Fundamentals, the Bullpen Bar and the Patio are off limits for the series. DAMN YOU TO HELL, SECURITY BUBBLE!!!

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) You don't need the search engine, just go into any active topic and scroll down until you see green font, then scroll down in that topic some more and view the other 8 posts of his in green. I like to sprinkle a little black font in for seasoning. I feel it brings out the ZING in my tasty green font. Enjoy the fonty goodness....

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) Critic, if there were an award for "Most Posts With Using Green Font" you'd absolutely destroy the competition. These days, almost every post I read of yours is green. If I heard the search engine available I could prove it. Dude, I LIVE in the f***ing green. I'm ALL OVER the green. I use so much green, it's obscene. You got a problem with that?

When I played floor hockey there was a team in our league called the Astros, and they had that cartoon dog head as their logo. We called them the Scooby-Doos. They sucked. We beat them like 16-2 every time.

QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) You're fired! Cue the classic Vince McMahon version: "YYYYYYYYYOU'RRRRRRRRRRRRE FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRED!!!!!"

In a related story, Mayor White also declared this weekend as "Hold Your God-Damned Noses, Everyone, Something Smelled Like It Died Weekend" in Houston. Saturday is "Please Wash Your f***ing Feet Day" and Sunday is "Didn't I Tell You Yesterday To Wash Your f***ing Feet Day".

Saturday - going out with the Mrs. ( as has been WELL documented, I am apparently "whipped" ) and I'll most likely miss the entire game. Tape will be rolling. Sunday - I have to work, YIPPEE ( I will tune all our TVs to the game, so while on my rounds I can catch a little bit of the game here and there ). Tape might be rolling. But Tuesday I'm watching the game at my friend's house and I have Wednesday off as a vacation/hangover recovery day. and repeat..... I will be rolling.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) Gee, thanks. Glad to help, brother.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) Again...there is my love for you. Yeah, I was watching this and wondering how the poor new fella was feeling. I've been on that end of being a "newbie" and it sucks. Just answer the question and don't make the person feel like an idiot. If it was a LONG term poster, make 'em feel dumb, fine. But a new guy asking a question, just answer it or move on. Too tough to do? Shouldn't be.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) I couldn't resist :rolly Me either.

Anybody else around here getting tired of all the stoooooooooooopid f***ing polls lately????
-
okay. I don't have any scans.

Off the topic, your sig reminds me of what a f***ing TERROR Frank Thomas was in his prime, and what a crime it was to rob the fans of his pursuit of all those historical numbers. Maybe 62 would have meant more if a non-roider had gotten there first! ALL HAIL NUMBER 35!!!!

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) Ya know...I've been here so long now I feel at home. I forget at times to not open up too much, as some people will still laugh at me. AHHHHH, WALK IT OFF, PITY BOY!!!!

almost none of those lyrics rhyme..... what a s***ty song! BOTH versions!!!

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) I have the "clinching" papers. I don't buy the paper very often. I used to all the time, but have stopped over the years. IT was like collecting comic books. All the papers needed to be bought at different times, it was like the "variant cover" epidemic that hurt comics so bad in the 90's. Did somebody recently call me a geek??? EVERYBODY recently called you a geek for this post!
