  1. So glad he's on the playoff roster. So pissed that Marte is too. SO hoping Ozzie comes to his senses and replaces Marte The Walk Machine with McCarthy for the next round, if there is one.....I just can't assume anything....
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) Base hit for Olerud. Rowand played that real conservatively but thats the right move in that situation. Yep, don't play it into a double.
  3. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) I don't like this matchup and you were right.
  4. oh well.... C'mawn, Juanny!!! ( Tip of the cowboy hat to Hawk there....heh.... )
  5. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) Holy s***z that was close. Looked exactly like the one he hit last inning. Wind must've let up a bit.....
  6. That pitch looked low to me. I WANT them to be strikes, but I just don't think they are. Uh oh....2 on for Big Sloppy....
  7. Damon went down and pulled a pretty good outside pitch. Strand him, Freddy!
  8. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) I usually don't b**** about the umpires, but Garcia is getting a smaller zone than Wakefield IMO. I think you have to take into account that a knuckler is harder to judge for umpires as well as hitters. Its unusual flight and often-late break makes it tougher to track, so I'll give the ump some leeway for that reason. ( Bad strike call on Damon right there, I think... )
  9. Oh, and Farmer's b****ing about the strike zone now. Zone looks OK to me so far.
  10. Complete lack of class....that's just Manny Being Manny..... :puke Ortiz's homer seemed to be helped a bit by the wind, but any 400+ foot homer cannot be called a cheapie. Nice job by Freddy to regain his composure and get out of the inning, now the Sox have to swing the bats again.
  11. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) Holy s***, Dino returns! Dinosaur Jr. will be playing TWO shows at Metro in late November. Tix go on sale tomorrow morning. I think someone else here is also a huge fan. That would be me. Excellent news EXCEPT.... Can't any band I like come to town on the WEEKEND anymore???? s***, am I sick of going to Wednesday and Thursday night shows. Still, I don't think I can pass on Dinosaur Jr, and I don't have the Lollapalooza Excuse or the 4-Hour Round Trip excuse this time.
  12. I'm sure he's very nice to a lot of people, he just bores me as an announcer. He's not terrible by any means, just dull, IMHO. and athomeboy, no solid info on Rooney's next move. I saw an Anaheim rumor on here a while ago, and our own "Chicago Baseball Insider", STEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPH ( sorry about the cheesy MJ&H ripoff there, lol ) has said that Rooney's maybe possibly pleasepleaseplease not 100% out the door yet.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:33 AM) Two Boston fans offered us $700 EACH for our seats for Sunday's game.. a game that might not even be played... what did you decide to do on that?
  14. QUOTE(JoeBatterz @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:25 AM) Move outside of Chicago and you will begin to appreciate North. Just because something might be s***tier, that does not mean North isn't s***ty. I can't imagine anything bad enough to make me appreciate Mike North.
  15. QUOTE(Maury @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) Good thing you didnt show up for the jinx! I had a new strategy this time so my smoking jinx didnt take over the game. I only went out to smoke when the Sox were batting. Not when Boston was up. It worked! :finger Good thing I didn't show up for the farts! WAAAAY too many "dying ducks" in that room!!!
  16. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 07:28 AM) There's nothing Brooks Boyer could do about the crappy system ticketmaster uses except perhaps moving to get the Sox off ticketmaster, but then you are going to have the same problems at other sites. Scalpers have inside people everywhere they need them, and know all the tricks. I just find it funny that you are on ticketmaster and they say your wait is less than 1 minute, on the same screen it says don't refresh or hit the back button or you will lose your place in line, and then 32 minutes later it says you have a 15 minute or more wait. Someone is screwing with the system. Considering how quickly tickets sell out on the internet, unless you are very close to the front of the line at the box office, you aren't going to get anything there either, that's why I agree with the decision not to sell them there. It would lead to a lot of people sleeping out only to get shut out. And also lead to theft, fights, etc. As bad as yesterday was, any potential World Series ticketing will be 100 times worse, book it.
  17. See, this is where that "second-class citizen" thing kicks in again. I've been looking at a bunch of local stores for playoff shirts and the only store I saw anything in was Kohl's ( they had the hat, but no shirts ). I know Dick's has them, but that's a bit of a drive for me. When the Cubs won the division in 2003, they had s*** EVVVVV-REEE-WHERRRE. If you went to a f***ing pet shop they probably had Division Champs doggy shirts. And now Sox fans can't even get MAIL ORDER to work right. It's f***ed up.
  18. Funny s*** right there! HA!
  19. Kasilias ( or however it's spelled ) is just not very interesting. That Ozzie interview with Patrick was pretty light-hearted and fun to listen to. The "my White Sox" stuff was his sarcastic response to listeners' claims that DP is now a Sox bandwagoner.
  20. The Sox have to be patient and selective. Let him walk as many guys as he wants to. Sit on the "fastball" if his knuckler is fluttering too much. ....easy to say, not as easy to do, though....
  21. Yeah, and then like 5 minutes later, Fatass goes on the DL cuz his back couldn't handle the weight of his front. Stupid Curly-looking piece of s***.
  22. TicketBastard = the suck. Across the board, no exceptions.
