  1. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:45 AM) I hate to say it. But how often do Prior, Wood or any of the white players get booed there? Not often. Then look at how guys like Hawkins and Sosa were treated. Just sayin. Please. Sosa had all the right-field f***heads swingin' off his nutsack until he started to suck. Then ALL OF A SUDDEN he's a selfish, overpaid, hypersensitive, phony, defensively-challenged clubhouse cancer.....gimme a break. He was ALL of those things ALL ALONG, but when he stopped hitting 60 bombs a year they turned on him. I'm sure that a portion of the booing was from racists, but not the bulk of it. And Hawkins turned the fans off right away with his attitude. They'd cheer when he did his job, but how many Hawkins jerseys did you ever see? Why is that? Because he is African-American, or because he was pouty, defensive, and standoffish from day one?
  2. BUT....BUT.....I thought he could ONLY be traded to the Spankees???? Like....don't they have right of first refusal or something????? Adding Clemens to that offense would make them a serious force, for sure.
  3. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 09:15 AM) Thanks to your parents!!! Yeah.....word to your mothers.....
  4. I got my one ticket for the Club Level on the 4th. The wife and kid are gonna be out of town, and I have to work right after the game, but it's gonna be SWEET. I know this reply doesn't really help you at all, Eye, but if it's any consolation, I do hope you find the tix you need.
  5. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) I understand that everyone can be frustrated with how crede has been performing, but fact is, we have scored more runs than anyone in our division, so something is going right with our offense. Or we're in a really low-scoring division....
  6. QUOTE(BobDylan @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) I don't truly believe a better man could carry it than Hank Aaron. I agree with this wholeheartedly. I read Hank's book, I Had A Hammer, and I gained so much more respect for the man than I already had. For what he went through on a regular basis, he deserves to be remembered for what he accomplished and how he carried himself throughout his life and career. Hank is pure class, and it would be a damn shame if his exact opposite were to pass him for the all-time home run record.
  7. Everything Juan does looks ugly, but it gets the job done.
  8. I am completely fine with this policy. If you make the f***heads chase their beer, one of two things will happen: They will either drink less, or be away from their seats for a while as they chase the beer. Either situation is a winner for those who suffer around them. I'll gladly get a beer from a stand myself - it's a fair exchange.
  9. I just heard on AM1000 that Oz had a postgame team meeting to vent his frustration at the way the team played yesterday. I'm not sure if I like that or not, considering that Oz didn't have his finest strategic game either. If I'm Ozzie, I think I probably just thank the Angels for giving the game back to us and go home to forget about this one.
  10. QUOTE(Wedge @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) I was at the game with my dad yesterday and it was a pretty amazing atmosphere. The place went absolutely nuts when Timo got that hit. Everybody around me just jumped up and started screaming and pumping their fists when it happened. I hope we go to the World Series and that I can take my dad to a game like that. That'd be a really special moment for me and him. I REALLY hope you get that moment, too!!! There will be THOUSANDS of similar parent/child moments for all White Sox fans when the Sox finally grab that brass ring!!!
  11. I like Miller Park - moreso when the roof's open. There's a warehouse feel when the roof is closed, but it's still a nice enough place to see a game. I really enjoyed Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix. It has a similar feel to Miller Park, but not quite as boxy with the roof closed. Too bad that on the day I was there, NO ONE in the pool in RF should have been allowed to wear a swimsuit! .....insert vomit smiley here.... Hated Busch Stadium, I thought it was an armpit. I'm happy for the Cardinals fans that they'll finally have a real ballpark next year. I like Wrigley OK once I'm in my seat, as long as I'm not behind a post or back too far to see flyballs or the scoreboard. Of course, I think USCF blows any of these parks away. They've done a really spectacular job of enhancing the park.

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) Wow a Tim Armstrong band Clash comparison, how original. Well, if he'd FINALLY stop dipping into the "Clash Well", the comparison might not be vaild anymore.... AY'M YOOST KEEDEEEEEENG!!! Thanks for the review - I'll keep an ear out for them!!
  13. QUOTE(ISF @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) I wouldn't wish Old Style on my worst enemy. That's harsh. ...but the Xanax? Mmmmmmmmmmm......
  14. QUOTE(skidoochic @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) I like the radio commercial about Podsednik being cute and guys shouldn't get outfield seats for the game with their girlfriends because of it. The announcer suggests seats behind home plate - but then you get to see A.J. bending over all game! If you asked me - those are the best seats in the house! I actually don't like that one because, even though I get the idea of that commercial, it still comes off ( to me at least ) as telling people NOT to go to the game, but to listen to it in the car instead. I just don't think it's a good message to send, even unintentionally.

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) You best believe it. BTW, I like that new Transplants song! It's got a cool slow-ish groove to it, kind of like ( I know this is too easy of a comparison, but I think it does fit ) a later-era Clash vibe. How's the rest of the disc? Stylistically, I mean - I KNOW you're gonna rave about how good it is! ...you shameless street teamer, you...
  16. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) You've seen a Crede clutch hit? Did you video tape it for posterity's sake? No need to. It's like seeing a comet or a volcano erupting - moments that rare etch themselves into your mind's eye.
  17. I know I got MY fat ass off the chair when Frank stepped to the plate. SO glad to see the big man back!!!!
  18. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) I was in the upper deck. It would have been a difficult manuever on my part. But absolutely impressive if successful. SWANDIVE!!!!!
  19. Unfortunately, it's gotten to the point where I'm actually surprised when Crede comes through with a clutch hit. Thankfully, he hasn't taken his offensive ineptitude out to his position on the field. He still contributes defensively, but the Sox need more than that from him. They're not deep enough offensively to carry that weak of a bat at a power position.
  20. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) I was at the game and thrilled they won, but it doesn't excuse the moves Ozzie made. When I saw Perez in for Thomas I was ready to pull a Ligue on Guillen. He absolutely made some mistakes. Luckily, happily, the Sox overcame and won a big game to regain the 4-game lead over the Twins. I just think we're dwelling on this more than a bit too much. And I know you're kidding ( hope you're kidding??? ), but the last thing the White Sox EVER need is another episode like the inbred f***head Ligue family.

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Rancid - Indestructible Rancid - Fall Back Down Rancid - Red Hot Moon Rancid - David Courtney Rancid - Start Now Rancid - Out Of Control Rancid - Django Rancid - Arrested In Shanghai Rancid - Travis Bickle Rancid - Memphis Rancid - Spirit Of '87 Rancid - Ghost Band Rancid - Tropical London Rancid - Roadblock Rancid - Born Frustrated Rancid - Back Up Against The Wall Rancid - Ivory Coast Rancid - Stand Your Ground Rancid - Otherside Bold = Personal favorites. The entire Indestructible CD is f***ing awesome. 19 track 52 minutes, f***ing fast pace with a few slower songs thrown in there like Arrested in Shanghai. ....variety is the spice of life....
  22. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) Yeah, but just because a move worked doesn't mean it was a good move. That is true. Again, before I knew why Timo batted for Frank, I was telling my wife, "Well, I just hope Timo makes a bad decision work out all right". Then he struck out weakly and I was less than happy. Then later, I was happy on the last play of the game.

    QUOTE(He_Gawn @ May 31, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) Ive been listening to a lot of Unwritten Law lately. I think they're at the Q101 Block Party on Saturday night, along with the MIGHTY Rise Against!!! ...but they're not so mighty that I'll go to the show.... ....I'll be watching Game 1 of the Calder Cup Finals on Saturday night!!
  24. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 31, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) AJ should have been the last man used. Its proper bench management. You don't leave yourself bare at the toughest position to play. The Sox were a wild pitch away from going to extra innings... and judging by the wildness that Scot Shields showed yesterday, it isn't that hard to imagine. I agree with this. The only second-guessing I'll do is to say that I think Iguchi should have batted in the 9th. If you need contact to get a run home from 3rd, you should leave your most consistent contact hitter in the game IMO. The Hermanson situation can be debated too, but that's been done to death today. I was puzzled by the Timo-for-Frank move at the time, but after I learned the reason I accepted it. Funny what having all the information will do to an opinion...
  25. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 31, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) I gotta remember those lines... I'll be using them soon enough. Heh.....enjoy the grey hairs, Mikey Boy!! And don't worry, those lines just come with the territory when the calendar becomes your enemy....
