QUOTE(joemg311 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) A bunch of my friends went for free, they just got peoples wristbands that couldnt take the heat and left early. Free is always the best price, and it was cool of those people to give away their wristbands.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) Or maybe by getting back together they all remembered just how much they REALLY f***ING SUCK and have been miserably depressed to be playing that godawful crap again. I really like the Pixies. Saw them once during their heyday, and I enjoyed them a lot. I thought they were really good back then, and I was curious to see their reunion tour. But the Aragon show was a little too pricey for me, and I didn't really care for their opener, Urge Overkill, although Sister Havana is an awesome song.

Attendance: start of something big or just a fluke
The Critic replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The past few games I've gotten tickets for, the lower bowl was already close to sold out. I could only get lower reserved ( RF seats in the outfield ) or upper deck. I don't like the LF bleachers because of the blinding sun for the first 3 innings or so. -

Who is the most underrated player of all time?
The Critic replied to White Sox Josh's topic in The Diamond Club
I'll go with Hank Aaron. He was so much more than a home-run hitter, and IMO he goes underappreciated. He was a damn good fielder in his day ( even played some 2B and 3B ) and a solid hitter aside from the long ball. .305 career hitter, even had several 20+ steal seasons, with 240 total steals. Career .982 fielding percentage. Hank was the MAN. Class act under the hateful pressure, and a damn fine ballplayer. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) Your right Critic. Ozzie's interviews crack me up. Partly because he calls everyone "dis keed" and partly because he just talks so damn funny! Today he got away from "dees keed" and switched up to "dees guy". Maybe even he noticed that he'd call Jesus "dees keed" - "joo know, dees keed Jesus, he pretty goo at makeeng eenough fish an' loaves for evereebodee"

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) Waits for Mr. Showtime to show up He'd spend ALL his damn milk money if it meant he'd hook up with ChiSoxyGirl!!!

Nope. I was 4 years from existence at that time. Missed the last Sox World Series, missed the last Blackhawks Stanley Cup. Kinda hard to believe that 42 years or more have gone by since either of those things happened. At least the Hawks made the Cup Finals once since I was born, although the ass-whipping they took from the Penguins took some of the lustre off it. Got to see the Cup skated around the Stadium ice, though.....just the wrong team carrying it.....

I understand every word, and I LUUUUUUUUUUUUV Ozzie's interviews!!! He says some crazy s*** every time, and it always cracks me up! OZZIE!!!!

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Day 2. Got back about 45 mins ago. The heat was insane, we took it very easy today. I saw very few people drinking beer, it was impossible not to run for shade and water. Dinosaur Jr. kicked major ass, haven't missed a beat. It was cool to see those guys again. I never thought that would happen. Perry Farrell's new band, Satellite Party is awesome. I had forgotten what a great front man and performer he is. After dancing and running around for an hour, the guy didn't have 1 drop of sweat on him, strange. This new outfit is funkier but there's no lack of balls either. The Killers? eh, sound just like they do on disc, but kinda fun. We left early and skipped on Widespread Panic. Critic, we paid the $35.00 for a 2 day pass pre-sale price but it would have been worth the $115.00. No one else went huh? Good move buying the 35 buck presale - I remember some friends of mine skipping it because it looked for a while like the show wouldn't get off the ground, at least not at Grant Park. the lineup was a steal at 35 bucks, but IMO overpriced at 60 per day or 115 for both. Just not enough bands I wanted to see, but that's obviously just my opinion. I knew Dino would kill. They're the only band at Lolla that I'm sorry I missed. Glad you had fun, and glad you got out of that heat alive.

It should have been a stolen base since the ump called safe then out, and then while explaining it to Pods used the safe signal, then pointed to where he came off the bag and used the out signal. I just wish the umps were that picky about touching second base when it comes to double plays. That "neighborhood tag" by infielders is a joke.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) I still wanna know what "Rocket Surgery" is. You'll never know cuz you're not a Brain Scientist.... and since this is the game thread.....1-0 Wrong Sox..... :puke -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) Temp's in the 110's in Phoenix were bad enough let me tell you. When I visited Phoenix a couple years ago, it was at least 104 every day that week. When I got home, it was 85 and I was sweating worse than I ever did in Phoenix. ....it REALLY IS the humidity!!!!! I really liked the Phoenix/Tempe/Scottsdale area a LOT, and the red rocks in Sedona were awesome. I want to go back there someday.

Glad you had fun, LMB!! $60 per day or 115 or whatever for the 2-day pass is just too much $ for not enough bands I'd like to see. Aside from The Killers, I've already seen every other band I'd want to see at Lolla ( Idol, Dinosaur, Pixies, OK Go ). Billy Idol is 47 or 48, I believe. He's fun in concert. I've heard that since the original reunion tour, the Pixies have been less than inspired. Maybe they're tired of each other again already? Weezer = leave early and beat the crowd. Good choice by you. Have fun today and STAY HYDRATED!!! Let me know how Dinosaur Jr is, okay? I almost went to see them in Milwaukee on Friday, but decided the 4-hour round trip wasn't worth it for a band I've seen 3 times already....although they ARE great, IMO.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) I saw it, I didn't think it was clear at all. What is a patio ticket? They empty the patio at a certian point, so where do you sit then? Yeah, 28 buck patio ticket = you already have a game ticket. 41 dollar deal = patio ticket + game ticket for those who need a game ticket.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 08:07 AM) When will the season's schedule be published? As soon as the players pay the printers, as mandated in the collective bargaining agreement. And as I've said before, the only way I'll be 100% certain that the lottery isn't rigged is if Crosby ends up in Buffalo, Edmonton, Nashville or Carolina. -
Favorite band ever is the Wildhearts. Favorite solo artist right now is Bob Mould.

Texas always seems to need pitching. Do you think JB will get a chance to start for the Rangers, or is he strictly a bullpen guy at this point?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) Ya ever have to take a squat at the Cell? Now THAT'S an adventure, the seats are soaked, the 'fluids' on the floor are 2 inches deep so hopefully you didn't wear sandals and just try to keep your pants dry, 12 guys are in line waiting to drain and are bagging on the stall door and usually there is no t.p. Good stuff. It's nice and clean and fully stocked in the club level.....ya get whatcha pay for.......

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) Then why did you take my order at White Castle last night???[/color] Cuz you were s***-faced blind drunk ( again ) and paid 24 dollars for 3 sliders! I gave you the order I had just received from the guy who DOES work there and "kept the change".

I thought I heard Dan McNeil say HE was throwing out the first pitch tonight? Maybe he's doing it tomorrow? Don't really know or care.

I really like the sleeveless jerseys, but I think I'd be more comfortable in a black jersey than I would in a sleeveless with a t-shirt underneath.

I need 2 for tonight and I need them delivered to my door in 3 minutes!!!!
