  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 12, 2005 -> 08:41 AM) Dusty will let those guys throw 150 pitches in needed. :headshake ...and both of their right arms will be in lovely glass display cases in one of the concession shops by September...
  2. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ May 11, 2005 -> 06:50 PM) You aren't up for an evening with Mr. S, Critic? Well, they're talking about going to a strip club, and that's something I don't do out of respect for Mrs. Critic. If it's not going to be a strip club, I might be up for some drunken revelry.... ...but I'm leaving before Guido and Maury get us involved in a bar fight!!!
  3. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ May 11, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) Imagine the kind of stories that would bring up. Yeah, and on top of everything else, he'd probably end up leaving whatever "establishment" without you even knowing it!! If you DO go out with him, bring your own money and drive your own car!!!
  4. Happy Birthday, Ian!!! Do NOT let Maury take you out!!!! OMG!!!! Ooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I love this place after a couple of losses....ugh....
  6. Personally, I think ALL mascots are pieces of s***....
  7. He must have become eligible to leave the Witness Relocation Program....
  8. Both teams put way too much importance on the "City Series", in my opinion. If anything, the Cubs should worry about aligning their rotation for Cardinals matchups. Although I think aligning your rotation for a series two weeks away is goofy anyway. You most important game is the next one on the schedule.

    Win a Date

Since she's happily married, the winner of the auction probably only gets a blowjob...
  10. As pissed as I am about the Rays tying the game, I gotta say.... It's SO f***ING FUNNY to hear an alcohol-fueled Maury F-Bomb Meltdown Rampage again!!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad my kid was in the other room when that happened!!! DID I MENTION...
  11. I'll still be able to get to work, but I might have to push my start time back an hour or two, and THAT would really blow. Maybe if the CTA laid off the 5 to 10 people who stand around doing jack s*** at EVERY goddamned terminal, they wouldn't have to cut any of their already sub-par service...
  12. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 10, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) Derogatis. One of the few critics (especially music) I really do like. I might not agree with him too much, and I think he likes some pretty crap bands, but the man is REALLY good, and he is a great writer. I can't stand him. His unfathomable love of the Flaming Lips ( one of the 3 worst bands I've ever had the misfortune of seeing live ) renders his opinion meaningless to me.
  13. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 9, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) I'll take 'em down. They're a b**** to update. I'm just glad to see Pods break the single-season HR record, and it's only MAY!!!
  14. I think they should ease Frank back in, maybe every other day for a while, or as matchups dictate, and then put him back full-time at DH and move Carl and/or JD around as necessary. If Aaron or Paulie is still floundering at that time, maybe you need to give one of them a day off here and there as well. As the tired cliche goes, "it's a nice problem to have".
  15. QUOTE(JimH @ May 9, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) Saw Moose Cholok, Dick the Bruiser, The Crusher, Black Jack Lanza, Mitsu Arikawa and Dr. Moto, and Big Ernie Ladd there at a big event. Must have been 1970 or so. Also saw REO Speedwagon in '78 at the Amphitheatre. The Beatles played there, so did the Rolling Stones, so did Elvis. Oh yeah, a LOT of bigger shows came to the Amph for a while there. Kiss came there, I know, but I never saw a concert there. I went almost every month to see the wrestling shows, though - my favorite part was the lame-ass "Hall Of Fame" where they stuck 8x10 photos along a corridor, draped it off and showed 8mm films ( with NO sound!! hahaha ) of previous cards on a cheapo retractable screen. What an honor it must have been to be inducted into such a LAVISH Hall Of Fame..... )
  16. QUOTE(JimH @ May 9, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) The old green seats are great, I have one of those, two from Chicago Stadium, one from Milwaukee County Stadium (White Sox played games there in '68 and '69, which I remember still), two from Soldier Field, and four from the Intermational Amphitheatre. Also bricks from Comiskey, the Amphitheatre, Milwaukee Country Stadium, Chicago Stadium, and the Chicago Coliseum. And a big bar. The only other stadium seats I have are two from Chicago Stadium. Since I'm not a Bears fan ( not really much of a football fan, but the Mrs. likes the Packers, so I do too.....[ducking]..... ), those are the only two places I wanted seats from. The Amphitheatre would be cool, too - saw a TON of AWA/WWA wrestling shows back in the 70s.
  17. I was lucky enough to have a friend working for the Sox when the old park came down. He got all of his close friends a seat, mounted and delivered to the house! I'm staring at it right now..... I have eternal gratitude for my buddy!!! EDITED to add that I wouldn't want a BLUE seat....those are gross......
  18. QUOTE(T R U @ May 9, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) I saw House of Wax last night and they had a DOH trailer and... well... :puke And you are VERY right, Jessica + speaking role is going to be a big mess.. Her little speaking parts and the accent she was trying to use, oh god, it was horrible.. It looks like complete crap, but she still looks good ...and then you had to sit through House Of Wax, too???? :puke
  19. Dan Patrick actually said it best: LeBetard was lazy in insinuating that. Good cases could be made for Shaq or Nash, but the fact is that even now, when Nash is out of the lineup the Suns just don't play all that well. IMO race had absolutely zero to do with it. I like LeBetard on the radio - I'm disappointed that they replaced him on ESPN's Sunday Magazine show with the talentless Mark Madden - but I don't like him in print.
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2005 -> 08:36 AM) Its better than the old days at the auto plants/steel mills where you would get tires slashed or have your windows smashed out if you drove a Toyota or Honda... I still remember the "good-natured heckling" I got from my wife's friends when I went to Janesville, WI in my Ford to see her. Yikes. ( For the curious, there's a GM plant based in Janesville, and they take that s*** pretty seriously up there.... )
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) What about "Dukes of Hazzard" and Jessica Simpson would ever scream blockbuster??? I was hoping that SWS would at least make it watchable. Didn't happen, from what I saw there. and Jessica Simpson + speaking role = disaster.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 9, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) Latroy Hawkins? Wouldn't mind him in the correct role. I think it's up in his head right now, and an Escape From Lakeview would do him a world of good.
  23. Well, Pedro would know, he's been assigned to crawl into Bonds' jock for the summer....heh heh.... They were probably so jumpy to get the news out first that they didn't really wait to get the details 100% straight.....NAWWWWWWWW, that NEVER happens..............
  24. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) Glad to see Dusty learned his lessons with Prior and Wood. Here comes major arm injury to stud pitcher #3. Dusty The Pitcher Killer WILL strike again!!!! Sure, Big Dust HAD to keep Zambrainless out there, since his bullpen full of arsonists can't hold a lead, but it's not a good idea to overuse the only young arm you have that hasn't needed work yet. I read somewhere that Jon Leicester might get the start today, since Ryan Dumpster is the "Closer Du Jour" and they want to keep Rusch in the bullpen too ( I guess to get the last out after Dumpster implodes as a closer....HA! ). I don't care too much about the Cubs either way, I don't really hate them, it's just SO NICE to keep the trolls at my workplace niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice and quiet..........I just walk past the worst one every day and nod, nothing needs to be said.......
