PiL coming to town on May 1st & 2nd. I really want to see them again, but I don't know if it's going to work out.

QUOTE (Molto @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) More importantly, I have to give a freaking speech as the best man for this guy. Could use some help. "SHIPPS finding love only proves that not only is love blind, it has no sense of smell."

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 02:03 PM) So Kane all of a sudden lost muscle and went back to being skinny? Got it. I do think he may be getting fatigued, or opponents are finishing checks harder on him. Earlier in the season he was fighting through checks along the boards much more effectively than he has lately. I think he'll pick it back up in the playoffs when the motivation is higher than it is right now. I don't mean to say Kane is slacking or bored - the energy level naturally increases when the playoffs begin and the stakes get higher, and I think Kane will play stronger along the boards again as a result of that.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 08:56 AM) Liked the game but come on it was Minnesota. The defense looked good but I would say that the spectacular saves Neimi made according to the tv were nothing all that great. He still flops around way to much for me to consider him anything above ok. The fourth line saved them again and I am starting to think that all of the offseason work Kane did that we heard about earlier in the year is gone. Other than Sharp the top two lines of this team look really tired. The first toe save Niemi made was spectacular, and the left-to-right stop he made (the third great save) was even better. Those saves on the 5-on-3 were game-changers. I'm not saying Niemi is Ken Dryden, but he's easily the better of the two choices the Hawks have. Damning with faint praise? Maybe. We'll see soon enough.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 07:04 PM) Kayfabe Seriously though, I wanna see that promo in the ring. If it was anyone but Flair, I'd think it was kayfabe, too. But he's been off his nut for so long I can believe anything that's written about him. -

Ric Flair is losing his f***ing mind. He really needs to settle down or go away: According to ProWrestling.net, Ric Flair and Orlando Jordan's new on-air male companion got into a confrontation at a bar after the Impact tapings on Tuesday night. According to the report, Flair saw the male companion dancing at the bar and got so upset at him being there and being in the TNA locker room in general that he got in the guys face and verbally unleashed on him. Apparently Jordan's male companion was so shaken by the exchange that he decided to just leave the bar. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 12:11 PM) I'm married to one, so hope not I am too - believe it or not, sports allegiances are a very minor thing in the larger scheme of things.

Kenny Williams is Calling for a Blackout for Opening Day

Why wouldn't Kenny want Opening Day to be televised? -
Chris Rongey guest on this weeks Pale and Hosed

QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 10:30 PM) I listened to it and enjoyed it. Rongey is the voice of reason. And driving home from work every night I enjoy listening to Les Grobstein (sp) another Score voice of reason. Question to Ranger: Why does Grobstein have a talk show til 1 a.m., then have to wait until 5 a.m. to continue for one final hour. Ouch. Makes no sense unless they are trying to force Les out with such weird hours. I wonder if he takes a nap for a couole hours. I know I would. Their contract to air the replay of the Dan Patrick show probably has specific language regarding air times. I'd assume whenever their obligation with the DP show ends, Les would get the overnight slot. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 06:07 PM) Oops... RAW 3.7 Impact 0.6 Credit: F4Wonline.com Not surprised. Taped Impact vs. the Raw after Mania with HBK retiring? The only surprise is that Raw's lower than I expected. No wonder Impact is trying the "one hour headstart" trick. Another wCw tactic. -

Impact just got a little more watchable - The Nasty Boys have been released! Technically, their 90-day contracts expired, but either way THEY'RE GONE!!! Also gone from TNA is Consequences Creed. -
QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 10:45 AM) Yeah, SHE works fast on finding a place and getting it set up. LOL. I did nothing. Her now: "I gotta work fast before he changes his mind!!!" Her in a year or two: ".....[sigh]....should have taken my damn time....now he'll NEVER leave....."

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) Was it a mania match that HBK over sold it and let Hogan win, and after the countout he posed with hogan all around the ring only to give him sweet chin music right after they hammed it up in the middle of the ring? Not sure if that was it. I just remember YouTubing it a while back and watching Michaels flop like a fish after every move, with Hogan starting off confused and ending up really agitated. They had a backstage conflict with Hogan using his creative control powers to avoid losing, so Michaels decided the best way to get even was to over-sell everything Hogan did. If it's still out there, it's pretty hilarious. -
QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) The Hawks' theme song is equally anachronistic--it sounds like a game show theme from 1968, which is when it was written. Maybe so, but it still beats the s*** out of the beer commercial song they play after goals.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 06:17 AM) Hogan will probably go on BTLS and say he signed him already like he did with Goldberg Hogan probably just wants him back for one match, so Shawn can comically over-sell Hogan's offense like he did before. -
 Brian, you're great! Shipps, congratulations!!! Just imagine - you'll FINALLY have sex!!!

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 02:47 PM) Any good shows in town next week? Not too much going on next week, but here are a few: Titus Andronicus @ Bottom Lounge 4/7 $10.00 or Har Mar Superstar @ Double Door 4/7 $10.00 Overkill and Vader @Metro 4/9 $25.00 or H.I.M. @ House of Blues 4/9 $26.00 or Brujeria (Mexican Metal) @ Aragon 4/9 $35.00 Flatfoot 56 @ Reggie's Rock Room 4/10 $10.00

QUOTE (G&T @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 02:43 PM) I don't get it. McDonough isn't the GM and he didn't sign the goalies or any of the bad contracts. What am I missing? Yeah, you can pin the Leno appearance and corny s*** like Blackhawks TV on McDonough, but the on-ice moves are done by the player-personnel management team (Tallon, Bowman and Bowman).

QUOTE (T R U @ Mar 28, 2010 -> 11:54 AM) I just don't see why they would end the streak when HBK is taking time off or possibly even retiring after mania anyways.. Look at it like this, Vince isnt dumb.. he knows that there are loop holes to beat the retirement and get HBK back somehow, but there is no chance to erase the loss for Undertaker, and the streak is history.. I mentioned a possible way for HBK to lose to Taker and still stick around: During the Vince/Bret match, HBK comes to the ring, starts tuning up the Sweet Chin Music, but then BAM! - hits Vince with it instead of Bret. (Someone else on WSI actually mentioned that scenario, but it got me to thinking about the next part) Bret wins the match, Vince goes on Raw the next night and screams that he's holding HBK to his contract. Refuses to let him retire, and keeps making his life miserable. Sure, it's all been done before with small changes in the storyline, but it would be effective and keep Michaels around despite the loss to Taker. I'd like it.
