  1. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 05:24 PM) I enjoy Vinny Mac's character, just not the way it's been portrayed in this current angle. I have this opinion about CM Punk. I like the better-than-you straightedge thing, but not the quasi-religious turn it's taken.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 05:12 PM) Yeah, that was very cool that they pieced together a voice out of his old At The Movies shows Is that where they said they got the audio? I heard on WGN this morning that they couldn't use much of the TV show because there was always music or other voices involved, and that Roger found a bunch of audio commentary tracks he had done for DVDs (or documentaries or something like that) and they used those. Either way, an amazing thing, and wonderful for Roger and Chaz to be able to hear his voice again in any fashion.
  3. This article contains a link to the audio of the 911 call for the Flair domestic disturbance. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/tna/6678.html Spoiler/Bummer Alert: Ric does NOT cut a promo on the call. His wife's daughter made the call. However, he WAS bleeding from his forehead, which IMO means he bladed!!!
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 04:58 PM) I completely respect Roger Ebert and feel for him in regards to his tragic cancer complications, but when I watched the video of him and his wife testing out his new "voice" on the oprah network, I was very creeped out by his jaw moving with no bone in there. Such a cruel twist of fate to rob that man of his jaw and voice. Absolutely, but he really is an inspiration in the way he's dealt with it. I know for a fact I'd be completely bitter, self-pitying and reclusive if that happened to me. Everything I've read and seen shows him determined to make the best of his life, and I think that's great. To have the technology and the resources for Roger to get even a simulated, pieced-together version of his voice back is amazing to me.
  5. I'm glad I played most of my "career" before the influx of insanely-priced quintuple-walled, aerodynamic alloy bats. I would buy a nice, hefty chunk of wood (the heavier the better) and that would be my weapon for a few years. Usually a nice immature bat slam after a pop-up with RISP would be the cause of death. Early in my playing days one of my teammates had a used Jorge Orta baseball bat - that lumber served us well, it was pretty top-heavy for a baseball bat. But always remember: It ain't the bat, it's the batter - if you can't hit, the bat don't matter!
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 11:40 AM) Breaking News on espnchicago.com: Chris Chelios signs with Atlanta Thrashers Good. Wolves games just became more enjoyable for me again. Ugly player in an ugly uniform. Suits him perfectly.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 11:07 AM) Wait for it Critic....I disagree with you. I think Vince is fantastic the way he acts. Its pro wrestling. He is suppose to over the top and cartoonish. I'm really digging the Mania card. Punk vs. Rey should be announced soon and between that and Taker/HBK, it should rock. LOL I disagree with your disagreement, Brian. I think it's too much, especially the walk. How are you supposed to take a guy seriously when he can't wipe himself properly??? I know it's pro wrestling, but not everyone has to be cartoonish and clown-like. Like when Flair started doing goofy s*** like elbow-dropping articles of clothing - to me, that diminishes his character. Same with McMahon. I see the crapwalk, I take him less seriously as a demonic owner. I do think Mania has a chance to be really good. I still won't buy it (PPV prices are just ridiculous), but I'm interested to see how things play out.
  8. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 06:50 AM) This & McMahon's over the top-ness on the mic is really starting to kill this angle for me. They had the legit heat of real life behind it & now they're adding too much. I don't know why Vince feels he has to cartoon his character. The stupid "s*** in my pants" walk to the ring, the gargly overplayed voice, it's all unnecessary. He is the most hated heel that company has just by being himself, there's no need to camp it up.
  9. None of the Hawks got hurt, and that was all I was hoping for. Now people can resume ignoring winter sports for four more years.
  10. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 07:09 AM) It doesnt have to be a pinto people. Whats wrong with the Impala's that they have had throughout the years? Much cheaper and easier on gas. You guys are taking what I said and going on the other end of the spectrum instead of meeting in the middle somewhere. You just want them on unicycles with dart blowers - you hate the police!!!!
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 01:32 AM) It would have been nice seeing all the Hawks come back with medals.. Oh well. The Hossa Curse. [green, I hope]
  12. Listening to the new Alkaline Trio disc "This Addiction" right now. I really like it. They're consistently so good. They sold out three shows at Metro instantly.
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 26, 2010 -> 12:41 PM) 4D^2+6-(81^.5)=253 4D^2+6-(9)=253 4D^2+6=262 4D^2=256 4D=16 D=4 nerd.
  14. Man City does United and Arsenal a huge favor by beating Chelsea 4-2.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 26, 2010 -> 11:12 AM) You and I should do a wrestling radio show, Critic. We like the same things but disagree a lot on certain points. Ha I bet a rasslin' podcast would be a lot of fun to do, actually.
  16. Nice "scandal" they're trying to create with the Canadian women's hockey team. So if I get this right: they're in trouble for drinking beer and smoking cigars on the ice of an EMPTY ARENA when nothing was televised because "that's not the image we want to portray". Again, EMPTY arena other than event staff and media. Not one impressionable corruptible child to be found in the entire arena. Also, NOT ONE WORD of outrage over the champagne they were drinking on the ice, in uniform, at the time of The Great Beer and Cigar Scandal of 2010. Why is that? Because champagne is the accepted beverage of celebrations, and beer isn't? Sounds like a whole lot of nothing to me.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 10:50 PM) PLEASE tell me someone else saw Flair on Impact tonight. It was classically awesome the way he was going off. I thought he wasn't that good. I know he was going for that "flustered" promo he's been doing more and more as he ages, but it seemed like he couldn't figure out anything to say so he'd go "AAAGGHHHH" or "I HATE YOU" or whatever. I would have liked a vintage cocky Flair promo asking Abyss who he's ever wrestled, and then running down the names of the legendary guys he's had classics with. Maybe they were afraid that kind of promo would make Abyss look weak? Flair was SOAKED in sweat when he took that jacket off. Reminded me of myself when the temp gets into the 90's. Gross. And AJ doing promos as a Flair impersonator seems awkward. It goes along with the storyline, but it just sounds weird to hear Flair's inflections with Styles' voice.
  18. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) What about David Wells? Sid Fernandez? CC Sabathia? John Kruk? OK, forget John Kruk. Babe Ruth did pretty well, and he was a tad portly. That would be my radio name, by the way....Tad Portly with ya!!!
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) The Lovely Miss Elizabeth I was never that into Liz. She seemed too "housewife" for me. All the damsel-in-distress stuff didn't help. The first valet/manager/diva I was really into was Sunny. The spandex sealed the deal.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 08:53 AM) Compromise: I'll body paint my legs to resemble a pair of jeans. And I'll squint with one eye and cover the other.
  21. The answer to all these questions is Beckham. He will also lead the team in wins, saves, ERA, stolen signals, triple plays, and hair.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 08:38 AM) I will not wear pants until the first pitch. I will not read any of Sqwert's posts until he puts his pants back on.

  24. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 23, 2010 -> 10:44 AM) Rock the House: The Hotties of Olympic Curling None of the Japanese team in the top 15? I declare this Top 15 list null and void.
  25. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 23, 2010 -> 10:58 AM) Could you imagine if they booked Kennedy to end Taker's streak at one of the Manias? Would of been a disaster. True. Which is why I don't think the streak should be broken. At this point, let him go out undefeated at Mania. It will be a talking point for as long as they want it to be, and it would be a great highlight for Taker's HoF induction. Losing now makes Taker the 2007 Patriots - leaving the streak intact makes him the 1972 Dolphins.
