QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 22, 2010 -> 08:54 PM) Are the Cubs in Arlington or Wrigley? Jesus. I didn't realize they had a cult following in Texas. Like them or not, they have a following everywhere they go.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 22, 2010 -> 10:21 AM) I guess I can say it doesn't matter since we are winning, and if we weren't I'd probably be "WHAT DID WE PAY FOR" but plays like 2 or 3 nights ago when a sharks defenseman lazily skated back to clear the puck behind his net and hossa beat him to it out of no where and it directly led to a goal...s*** like that is just fantastic. Yeah, there's be a lot more noise about Hossa's lack of goals if the Hawks were down in the series. The thing I keep coming back to is how hard and how well Hossa's playing. Sometimes the results don't end up on the scoresheet, but the effort is absolutely there. -

Okay, this next story is a shocker.....comes out of thin air......please remain seated.... http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/tna/7841.html - One-half of the TNA Tag Team Champions Scott Hall was arrested in Chuluota, Florida on May 14th for disorderly conduct and resisting a police officer, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Police were called to the Hitching Post Bar and found Hall cursing at the bartender and customers. Police informed Hall that he was being arrested and went to handcuff him. "Scott refused this directive," reads the police report, "and instead, thrust out his chest, walking closer to me, stating, 'I ain't going down for this [expletive deleted].'" Hall was soon cuffed and placed in a squad car. The bartender claimed Hall was drinking heavily and arguing with customers. The bartender arranged a ride home for Hall but Hall is accused of punching out the window in the car. Hall is also being accused of pushing two women in the parking lot. In other shocking news, another WWE veteran has returned to TNA! Booker T has rejoined TNA and challenged RVD for the title. Good thing they have those rankings now!!!! -

QUOTE (bmags @ May 22, 2010 -> 02:39 AM) Passes like Toews to sharpie is the exact reason why you don't complain about strictly goals for players (hossa). Not every goal in hockey is a breakaway. I understand why people want to see more scoring from Hossa. I would, too, but he is doing a lot of things that end up helping the team. The way he can control the puck and make defenders exert energy and chase him around wears on the other team. It can also draw them out of position, which can lead to open ice for other guys and bring good scoring chances. He's been really good at clearing the zone, and hasn't made many bad passes. These are valuable things he's doing. Hossa is getting a few decent chances himself, but it seems like when he gets a chance in good scoring range he gets swarmed or the puck's at his feet most times. San Jose knows his reputation and they're checking him pretty tightly. If anything, I love the fact that the team is getting the job done without 81 filling the net, because the Law Of Averages says he's going to get his eventually. He's still a weapon, and another weapon is a great thing to have. -

I'm glad my daughter is at her aunt's house tonight - I would have woken her up for sure when Byfuglien scored that game-winner! Niemi was great, as he has been regularly. Oh, and I simply love Buff's "Captain Morgan" goal celebration! One more win to the Finals - I'm still a little bit in shock. -

I spit in the face of employers who try to make me go to rehab! WWE.com has announced that Carlos Colon (Carlito) has been released from his WWE contract as of today May 21, 2010. According to WWE, "Carlito’s termination was due to his first violation of the WWE Wellness Program and his subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility." -

QUOTE (bmags @ May 20, 2010 -> 09:38 PM) you don't have to drive to and from hotels? I'm going on the crazy assumption that the hotel is much closer to the UC than their homes are. Also, they can leave their cars at the UC and cab it to and from the hotel. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 20, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) The Blackhawks are going to put the players up in a hotel after the morning skate on Friday. Trying to recreate that road game magic! I would rather do that before every game than drive home and drive back later. I hate traffic much more than I hate hotels. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 19, 2010 -> 10:13 AM) I prefer the Finnish Fortress for Niemi Why the hell did it take this long for those nicknames to be revealed??? I'm so sick of Tazer and Seabs and Kaner and Huey and all the stiff, boring nicknames. Those are some great nicknames in that article, and I'd love to hear guys say "Seabiscuit and Shooter had a great game today" rather than "Seabs and Sharpie had a great game today". -

That was f***ing embarrassing. Bret Hart is your new United States Champion. Your new US Champ executed exactly one hold in the match. Your new US Champ literally couldn't climb the ropes to celebrate his victory. That was really, really sad. -

My favorite hit of the game came from Hammer. I don't know which Shark he hit, and the announcers didn't really focus on the hit, but he LEVELED the guy. Like a Swedish Freight Train hitting a small fish from California. Nice hit, Mr. Hjalmarsson!!! -

Let's check my predictions for tonight's TNA PPV: RVD over AJ Styles Douglas Williams over Kazarian The Bland over Ink Inc. Orlando Jordan over Rob Terry Madison Rayne over Tara Abyss over Desmond Wolfe Beer Money over Team 3D and Motor City Machineguns Sting over Jeff Jarrett Mr. Anderson over Jeff Hardy A fairly predictable PPV. I thought they were going to give Jordan a minor title since they seem bent on pushing him. The Tara one was a gimme, since she's leaving the company. Didn't expect the Guns to go over, but I'm glad to see it. Don't know WHY I thought Hardy might lose.... -

QUOTE (bulokis @ May 16, 2010 -> 05:04 PM) Niemi stood on his head and won the game. Great win and get game 1 on the road. How was Bolland not in the penalty box? Quenneville tricked the refs. He brought Bolland and Versteeg off the ice when the penalty was called and he sent Versteeg to the box. The refs didn't stop him, so he had Bolland available to kill the penalty. Crafty s***, that was. -
A legend of heavy metal died today. Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer this morning at the age of 67. Dio was a member of Rainbow, Black Sabbath (later known as Heaven and Hell) as well as his own band, Dio. Rest In Peace, Ronnie - no one deserves the "metal horns" salute more than you!! :headbang

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2010 -> 12:41 PM) On the other hand, they've won what, their last 5 road games? They've been playing better on the road than at the UC. I blame that horrible song. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 15, 2010 -> 08:55 AM) Listened to the last inning on AM 720 yesterday. Ron Santo is f***ed! I mean, he has always been goofy and out of it, but he had no idea what was going on. He was trying to quiz Pat on recent Cubs playoff series hits leader, and nobody even knew what the hell he was talking about. I've always said that Pat Hughes deserves twice of whatever they're paying him to carry that numbskull. Santo is only worth listening to when the Cubs lose an important game. Plus, he's a real asshole, so I never want them to win while he's around.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 13, 2010 -> 10:19 AM) If you're making a trilogy of films, the 2nd film is pretty much the hardest because you're setting up plot points for the 3rd film, and it's just never going to live up to expectations of the 1st film. That said, if you look at a history of film trilogy's, there have been some pretty damn good 2nd films over the years. I loved Rocky, and Rocky II is even better.
