  1. Lords of Pain reporting some good news for the Nexus: - The situation with Wade Barrett’s work visa is said to be not as serious as it’s been made out to be. Apparently everyone knew the situation was coming as Barrett had been talking about it for weeks. He is expected to be back in the country as early as today and back on WWE TV as early as this coming week. There is still no word on Drew McIntyre’s return but it’s believed that he may be out for a bit longer.
  2. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:09 AM) Im really hoping now that Buff and Versteeg were traded we can hold on to Ladd unless the trade offer is too good to pass up. It sounds like to me though they should have enough room to keep Ladd and Hjalmarsson and still be able to afford Seabrook and Sharp in the future. They still have Niemi to take care of, too, unless someone else offers him too much and the Hawks settle for Huet. If they do that, then they have his cap hit on the books and maybe they have to re-do the cap math. All in all, a nice job by Bowman & Son to work around the cap problems. Getting good value for guys everyone in the league knew they had to deal away.
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:09 PM) If anything, he's been over-loved. I would over-love his wife - 30 seconds and it would be over.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:05 AM) The ESPN Summitt would of been better with just Wilbon and Simmons. Kornheiser just interrupted everyone and Lebatard was a huge Miami homer. At least Wilbon is an unbiased Chicago guy. Wilbon's probably my favorite ESPN guy. Always solid, not a screamer or smarmy a-hole, only shows his Chicago fandom when appropriate, and never makes me feel dumber for watching him.
  5. Update: McIntyre was seen in Scotland, and creative has been told not to expect him or Barrett until after SummerSlam.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) Oh geez. Wade Barrett's VISA expired and had to go back to England. They don't know when/if it will be resolved. What started out awesome is turning into a disaster. Yeah, I guess Drew McIntyre is going through a similar thing, but he's still in the States and may return sooner because he's married to Tiffany, a US citizen. If Michael Cole turns out to be the "anonymous GM", the angle is officially s***.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 09:12 PM) Does anyone else here enjoy They Might Be Giants at all? I liked them a lot when it was just John and John with a boombox/drum machine, but I lost interest when they went to a full band. Don't Let's Start and Ana Ng are classic tunes. Love them.
  8. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) this is all because that idiot Santo is in the booth Santo's never been responsible for anything good happening to the Cubs. That rug of his must be made of black cat and goat hair.
  9. Santo AND Grace in the same booth? Holy s***ty broadcasting, Batman!! Time to mute the TV.
  10. Steel Panther kicks all varieties of ass. They begin the ass-kicking process the moment they step onstage, they continue kicking non-stop throughout their set, and they do not leave the stage until every ass has been sufficiently kicked. And make no mistake about it - no ass goes unkicked. Do not f*** with Steel Panther - Steel Panther will do the f***ing around here, thank you very much. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot:
  11. Lying requires thought, Sid - just be honest and tell them you had a softball game, LOL: - Sid Vicious was scheduled to wrestle for Dreamwave Wrestling on June 5th in LaSalle, Illinois but did not show up. The promoters got word that morning that Sid didn’t board his flight and spent all day trying to get in touch with him. Sid finally called them back and said that when he got to the airport, he forgot to bring his passport so they wouldn’t let him board the flight. Keep in mind Sid was flying from Memphis, TN to Chicago, IL. For those who haven’t figured it out yet, you don’t need a passport to fly within the country. Sidiot
  12. Tried to get to USCF with my daughter. Changed our minds when the apocalypse hit. That was a VERY interesting 90 minutes.
  13. God damn, do the Goo Goo Dolls suck balls. I keep thinking they can't get worse and they just keep getting worse. Boring, by-the-numbers "adult rock" at its worst.
  14. I agree completely with this quote from Chris Jericho (taken from an interview he did with Brian Fritz of fanhouse.com) Q. What’s your thoughts about the Bryan Danielson situation because that’s really blown up of him getting released? A. I think he got caught in a crossfire. I think he was the scapegoat for somebody getting angry at the choke thing. Obviously, that’s been a hot button topic for years. I don’t think he did it maliciously. I don’t think Vince (McMahon) fired him maliciously. I think it was one of those things where hands were tied and somebody got angry from somewhere and they had to make a knee jerk decision to do that. I think it hurts the NXT group because it’s great right now when you have seven animals ganging up on one guy. That’s a great visual but when it comes down, at some point they’re going to have to wrestle. At some point, somebody’s going to have to wrestle. And Wade Barrett is good but Danielson was the gem and could go out there and have five star matches with anybody. And they don’t have that right now. That’s the one thing I think is a little bit of a weak link in the NXT chain is the fact that they don’t have that. So losing Bryan is going to be, it’s going to be a blow. Hopefully, they’ll bring him back at some point because he’s a great guy and a great talent. I worked with him for about six minutes on the first NXT but it was a great match and I would love to work with him more and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way.
  15. The thing that's going to kill the NXT angle (IMO, of course) is that none of them other than Wade Barrett is even mildly interesting. The thing that's interesting about them now is the gang attacks, and that will get boring soon. Once it does, they're going to have to try to highlight individual NXTers, and that will be baaaaaaaaaaad.
  16. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) HAHAHAHHAHAHA I am getting married too!! I didn't think it was THAT obvious that I was looking at you .. ..I am terribly ashamed ..I need to shower now! My sincerest apologies!! Why are you encouraging him???
  17. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 06:11 PM) I thought it was perfect for ya brother. Ahhhh....thank you, SHIPPS! I love it!
  18. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 06:25 PM) As much as we bash WWE (especially you ), I think we can all admit that they do a great job on their DVD's. Yeah, the only one I can remember where they really dropped the ball was "The Rise and Fall of wCw", and I think that was just a grudge job by Vince.
  19. I just noticed the "Slightly Hammered" name under my name! Awesome!!! Thanks to whoever did that.....Ni??? :headbang
  20. The E is working on a Bobby Heenan DVD, scheduled for release on December 18th. I think I know what I want for a stocking stuffer! I hope they load an entire disc with Heenan promos, top-heavy with classic AWA stuff.
  21. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) Solid PPV. Bourne had the match of his WWE career tonight. Well solid except for Mysterio winning the title. I'm so tired of Rey, but he sells a lot of masks and t-shirts so there you have it. I'm good with Sheamus winning the belt again.
  22. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) Jennifer and any girl named Alex. ANY girl named Alex??? http://media.photobucket.com/image/alex%20...08_alexloft.jpg

Much to my own surprise, I disagree about the new/old ACS. The thing I like is that they're doing the news again, which gives Adam a new well of topics to rant from. The interview show was losing steam FAST. Adam was recycling stories all the time, and made each interview much more about him than about his guests. To be fair to Adam, though, 75% or more of his guests lately were nothing worth listening to anyway, so I'm sure he felt he needed to jump in to keep listeners awake. I'm glad the old show format is back, with a truncated interview tacked on at the end.
  24. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) I hate these commercial and they make me stay away from that beer Me too. I'd rather "stay thirsty, my friend" than support that crap.
