  1. I like Los Comales on Harlem and (I believe) 73rd. Good flavor and not gristly. Their fajita platter is the s*** as well.
  2. Oh, OK, sorry - I didn't know his name on that show. SPOILER TIME!!!
  3. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) Meant to post this last Monday, but I can't believe that guy from I Love New York (aka Jennifer Hudson's fiancee) is a wrestler now. I think his name was Punk. Might still be as a wrestler name, but found that hilarious. Nah, it's not CM Punk. It's one of the Nexus guys, but I can't remember who.
  4. Just judging by the recaps I read, it sounded pretty lackluster. I think most of the ECW alums are too beat up and old to put on a good show anymore. Good to see Joel Gertner managing the Dudleyz again for one night, though. I always liked him.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 7, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) My puppy, Fisk, loves Soxtalk. After reading one of Critic's posts apparently. Even animals can only stare in admiration at the awesomeness of a Critic post. to myself!

QUOTE (Felix @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 11:49 AM) I watched Less Than Zero last night. I read the book earlier this year and figured I'd enjoy the movie, but I was very wrong. Robert Downey Jr was awesome as expected, but that was the only reason to watch. Read the book instead, way less preachy and much, much, much, much better. Really, the movie shouldn't have been called Less Than Zero and the characters should have had different names. It was completely different than the book, very disappointing (although I had heard that going into watching it, but still). Not for me it wasn't. Jami Gertz until it hurts!
  7. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 10:18 PM) This Arcade Fire CD might get me back into modern music again. I'm hoping for my wife's sake that the Arcade Fire draw some people away from Soundgarden's set.
  8. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 04:34 PM) EDIT: Oh... and Chris Chelios officially retires finally. Thank God. Go away, Cheap Shot.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 03:52 PM) I'm always completely nude when I post here so it's very easy for friends and family to know when I'm visiting the site. Bad times for the other people using the Wi-Fi at Starbucks.
  10. So my wife is taking my daughter and her friend to see the Jonas Brothers tomorrow night at FMBA in Tinley. 10 dollars for lawn tickets, why not, I suppose. ....better her than me, though.....WHEW.....
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 10:39 AM) You really need to just check out their albums. The best stuff never even came close to the airwaves. I've heard them. My wife LOVES Chris Cornell. I had to listen to his hyper-s***ty solo album when he came around by himself last time.
  12. SG is one of those bands where, if I hear them on the radio I think "oh yeah, this is okay" but I don't have a favorite song by them and I don't really have a desire to see them in concert.
  13. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 11:35 AM) Which means that Disco Demolition Night is just around the corner. Disco Demolition Night Part Deux would have been okay at New Comiskey before the US Cellular renovations.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 10:52 AM) The 1980's called...they want their ballpark fad back. So lame. So, so lame. Ballparks ADORE archaic, lame fads. Elvis Night, 70's Night, Rat Pack Night, Mullet Night. All old, all lame, all popular.
  15. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 11:47 PM) What f-in babies you guys are. If you can't stand the other fans, just watch it at home, you snobs. People who hate people having a good time at the ballpark drive me crazy. The Wave is here to stay. Get used to it or stop going to games. I agree with the gist, if not the tone. I don't care what people do (within legal limits) to have a good time at the ballpark - my only exception being swearing when kids are nearby. That does bother me. The wave is a harmless way for some people to add to their enjoyment of the game. If people didn't like it, it would never get going around the park like it does.
  16. QUOTE (The Beast @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 04:18 PM) Did he ever advance at all? What does he do now? He sells ice cubes to eskimos.
  17. I saw Fear a bunch of years ago at Subterranean. It was just Lee Ving and a bunch of kids, but the sound was the same.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 01:13 PM) Porcello brought his A game today eh? C'mon, don't trash the guy....he brought AT LEAST his AA game, if not AAA.
  19. QUOTE (lord chas @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 11:28 PM) wow i still cant believe how bad this salary cap situation turned out to be. would it be possible to sign niemi then at least trade him for something? They can try to trade him before accepting the arb ruling, but not after. That's what I've been reading, anyway - once they accept the decision they can't trade him for a year. If they decline the ruling, Niemi walks away as a UFA.
  20. Impact's ratings finally saw an increase this week, up to 1.22 from 1.06 the previous week. It seems maybe people are somewhat interested in the ECW angle.
  21. Warped Tour was the s***! Some bands were hilarious (Closure In Moscow), some were awful (Dillinger Escape Plan), some were fun (Andrew WK), and some were awesome (Face To Face, Alkaline Trio). Other bands like Every Time I Die were good musically but that screaming style of "singing" just ruins it for me. ETID were really good musically and put on a great show, but whenever the screamer would open his mouth, I just kind of checked out. All in all, I had a fun time, which started before I even got to the gates. This drunk kid (yes, the kid was falling down drunk at 12:30 PM) was walking behind us and he asked us: "What are you guys doing here? You guys are f***in' OLD!"
  22. That was amazing. 14 batters after two outs. Crazy.
  23. What did Jesus say to the Cubs? "Don't do anything til I get back!"
  24. That's the thanks he gets??? Nice job by Lucas tonight!
  25. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 11:16 AM) League revenue sharing is a good idea, but not at 50%, that's ridiculous. It's a good idea if it's equitable, but not if you're excluded from receiving revenue because of your market even when you lose 31 million dollars in one year (or whatever insane number they stated). Although Dollar Bill probably would have tried even less (if that's possible) if he knew he had revenue sharing cash coming in.
