Things seen/heard at Opening Day
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 07:25 AM) Which Soxtalker was this??? Last line of the article: "And I doubt that he's a dad." ....he might be in 9 months, though.... BAM!!!! Seriously, though, that's really classless. What a nice memory for that fine, upstanding young couple - f***ing in a public men's restroom. Tell all your friends about it, you two - you should be very proud.

Official 2009-2010 NHL Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 08:14 AM) It's getting dangerous to play the Blues. They are cheap-shot, head hunting ass clowns. That hit on Hossa was insanely dangerous... I assume his leaving the game after a few more shifts was precautionary given the Hawks were up five goals at the time, so let's hope he's alright. Agreed. As soon as they hired that new coach (forgot his name), they started gooning it up immediately.

My wife saw Hot Tub Time Machine the other night and said it was incredibly stupid and lame, and only mildly funny in a few spots. This is a woman who loved the 40 Year Old Virgin and The Hangover, so she's not uptight. I'll take her word for it and avoid HTTM.

Relationship Advice Thread
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 10:57 PM) As logical as this advice appears, I don't think you can really approach a decision like this in such a detached and matter-of-fact way. If you're committed to trying to make a go of it with someone you think might be the one, you throw yourself headlong into it and you don't think about it not working out. If you're in the throes of what is supposed to be the fireworks stage of a relationship you're not supposed to have time to regain your balance and think about how and why it's probably not going to work out. If you go all in and move across the country to be with someone and then it doesn't work out, then you pick up the pieces. I did it, and it was devastating when we crashed and burned, but I'm glad we threw ourselves into it and didn't go in hedging our bets. I understand that approach, but the idea of moving to a new city would definitely put me in "What If?" mode immediately. Maybe that's just me, but I always look at things not working out first, then decide if I'm in or out. Probably too careful for my own good, and it absolutely cost me some fun experiences when I was younger, but that's how I'm wired.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 05:32 PM) have they ever actually gone back and pointed out the DVR ratings that they said would make a difference? I haven't seen any mention of DVR ratings anywhere.

Looks like the unopposed first hour didn't make too much difference, although the more detailed ratings analysis hasn't been released yet: - Early numbers in from Nielsen Media from last night's WWE RAW and TNA iMPACT show that RAW scored a 3.2 cable rating while TNA iMPACT scored an 0.9 cable rating.

QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 01:16 PM) I really like the miz, That guy is awesome. He has won me over. I couldn't get past the MTV reality show guy, but he has worked hard to become a very obnoxious heel. He's a guy I can seriously see never having a babyface run. He's such a prick.

Relationship Advice Thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 09:04 AM) The only thing I say about moving away to be with her is this, if it goes bad, then you are all alone in a city with nothing to distract you from the horrible situation, no family or friends right there to fall back on. You are seriously out on an island emotionally and somewhat physically. On the other hand, it is an adventure, one that could lead to much bigger and better things. It is a brave thing to do. Yeah, you kind of almost have to go into it thinking it won't work out with her, and figuring out what you'll do if it doesn't. That way you're not pinning your existence there on her, and you've got a Plan B in your head in case you two don't last. I also say go for it - this is the time in your life to try new things, new people, new places. I was way too conservative/worried/complacent when I was younger, and I regret it now. I didn't do enough living when I had no obligations to anyone. I'm going to encourage my daughter to go where her spirit leads her, and not get locked into "normal" life too soon.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 12:00 PM) Chris Kanyon is dead. Apparently a suicide. http://www.prowrestling.net/artman/publish...e10011186.shtml Enjoyed his work as Mortis and his "Who betta than Kanyon?" gimmick. The Flatliner is still one of my more favorite finishers. Here's a video of a bunch of Kanyon's moves, including a lot of Flatliners. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn7Z-gzRpfw

QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 10:35 AM) The linesman really f***ed up that second goal. True, but Unlikable's goal could have been called a hand ball, so that's even. Still 1-0 Chelsea.

Swagger just doesn't have "it". I look at him and I don't see a champ. That "state of the championship address" was dull and bland and lifeless, and not even Jericho AND Edge could save that segment. Although I did laugh at Jericho saying "give it back" repeatedly and trying to take the belt off Swagger's waist.
