    John Stockton

Good riddance to that Harry Shearer look-alike! Where do you think Malone will end up? Do you think he'll try to do that old Bulls championship-era trick, and sign for cheap with the Lakers to try and get a ring?
  2. Listerine prides themselves on saying that using it will eliminate 99.9% of germs. What they don't tell you is that the .1% that it's ineffective on is jizz. :puke Sometimes it really sucks to be a scientist!!! Imagine getting the "Listerine: Effective On Jizz Or Not?" project... "I got WHAT project?????" "I won't do it!" :fyou "I SAID, I WON'T DO IT!!!!!"
  3. what will they do? My guess is they'll get Mutt Lange to produce a glossy adult-pop VH1 record like he does for his wife, Shania Twain. If that stuff's country music then Justin Timberlake is Johnny Cash!! (....and he's NOT....by the way....just for the record.....)
  4. Here's the line I don't like... Only three of those 112 playoff teams (or 2.7 percent) finished April more than 4½ games out of a playoff spot Now I know the Sox are not 4-1/2 games out of a playoff spot - they're 4 games out of the Wild Card right now - but they ARE 4-1/2 games out of the division lead. If they were playing lights out and KC was just playing that much better than them, I wouldn't be too concerned. But the team is not playing well at all, and something has to change NOW.
  5. 10 years, right clujer.. Ahhhh, ya beat me to it, Steff! I was going to say that in most states, Ryu would only get probation, unless the bird's widow pressed charges!! The guy is stupid, and karma will probably catch up to him too.
  6. In this case, if Gamboa had pressed the issue, I'm sure it would be more than probation. He didn't/isn't. Every case is different, but there is a guideline (as sad as it may be) to follow. And critic.. I wasn't calling you "perfect". It was a specific comment to clujer. I realize that, Steff, but that happens to me once in a while, too. I believe in personal responsibility, so I have less patience for people who blame their criminal behavior ( or spousal abuse or cheating on husbands or wives or whatever else ) on drinking or drug use. I just don't believe that is a valid excuse. People have accused me of thinking I was perfect or whatever, and it rubs me the wrong way. Sorry if I took that out on you, but like I said, that hit home a little. And the fact that Gamboa was too nice in this situation doesn't change the fact that these guys committed a violent crime in front of thousands of witnesses. There should be a price to pay, otherwise it sends a poor message to anyone else who might have this in the back of their minds.
  7. I'd ask him to his face if he was talking s*** about you. If he says no, let it drop. If he says yes, ask him why. After he explains why, ask him not to do it anymore and let it go at that. Talk is cheap, and people who talk are cheaper. The high road is better.
  8. He really should worry about becoming funny...I have never understood his appeal. Talking really fast with a weird vocal pattern does not = funny to me.
  9. It's inconceivable to me that someone can attack someone, unprovoked, in front of thousands of people and receive probation. There's something SERIOUSLY wrong with that. 10 years is too much, but I don't think that at least one year in jail is unreasonable, especially considering the fact that they caused irreversible hearing damage to Gamboa. Mistakes are one thing, criminal activity is quite another. That doesn't make me "perfect", it just means that I respect the laws of our society. That's not too much to ask of civilized human beings.
  10. "I got the MOST DUMBEST POSTS ever - YAYYYYYYYYYY!" That could have been the most incorrectest grammars this board has had. ever...
  11. Ehem.. I was there. Now I'm a "nobody".. Sorry, Steff....everybody is somebody, and everybody is special in their own way! ...I think you know what my point was in that post...sometimes you gotta exaggerate to get the point across.
  12. Funny how a court date will wipe the dirtball RIGHT OFF YA!!! Scholarly looking little f***er NOW, isn't he? the glasses are a nice touch...now about those enormous ugly tattoos....
  13. ??? is my favorite player, but he never seems to crack the starting lineup! Look at the versatility!!! He can play almost ANY position...which may be why he never gets a starting nod... You need that kind of "super-sub" on the bench, I suppose... The Critic - Founder And President Of The ??? Fan Club!!! "GIMME A ?" "?" "GIMME ANOTHER ?" "??" "GIMME ANOTHER ?" "???" "WHAT'S THAT SPELL???" "......uhhhh......"
  14. "when Flash is throwing like he can, Flash gets phone calls" If JM chooses anyone other than Gordon, they might as well release him, because he'll become a clubhouse poison faster than anything. I'd pick Marte, for the record...
  15. and in Titanic, the ship sinks at the end! Sorry HSC - I figured if I pointed that out, maybe the Sox would order a re-write to the script!!
  16. It's cold at night in October too, but people would show up for a big game then! What I'm saying is, big game, decent weather ( sunny at the start of the game, clear skies, no drizzle, no snow, etc. ) and a hated opponent and nobody can be bothered to show up? It just doesn't seem right.
  17. I definitely know it will be the NHL for me - there's nothing better than the Stanley Cup Playoffs, especially when the games hit OT. It's fun watching teams play when it's all on the line. I'd rather watch my grass grow than watch the NFL draft - or any other draft for that matter!!!
  18. Just saw the "highlights" from last night's debacle on SportsCenter, and they pointed something out that I was not aware of: So far this year, the Twinks have either swept their series or been swept - no exceptions yet. They had BETTER NOT sweep this series!!
  19. Uh-oh.... I just read a news article that said that eating 5 or more pencils can cause impotence. 6 or more can cause perpetual blue balls. Pink ones were shown to be even more dangerous - they have a chemical that causes them to taste out of the ordinary AND cause "scrotal shrinkage". Hey, it's not ALL bad - all that lead will give you very shiny stool!
  20. You know what? I'm tired of hearing this "Sox fans care about the game more than Cub fans do" excuse. If 14,000 people go to the game on a decent Friday night weather-wise to see a "statement game" against a supposed division rival, with your Ace on the mound, then maybe there just isn't as much of a fan base as we would like to believe. THIS would have been the game to go to, if you're a "serious, studious baseball fan". Buerhle vs. Mays the Sox killer, battling to establish position and momentum to overtake the Royals ( who we all "know" are going to fall, right? ) - and 14 grand show up??? Sad. Maybe it's just frustration talking, and I didn't go last night either ( I have my excuse, but who cares? ) but it just seems that the only times the ballpark fills up is 1/2 price nights, fireworks nights, Cub games and Yankee games, and when the team is in first place. Those don't sound like the times that "serious, studious baseball fans" would go to games. Those, quite frankly, sound like the reasons that the "casual fan" and the drunk and the cellphone tosser and the fighters in the stands and the breast-flashers would show up. ( For the record, the breast-flashers are OK with me It hurts no one!!! ) This team has seriously underachieved so far, and they're about 6 or 7 games worse than I thought they'd be when the schedule was announced, but I still think this team has the ability to turn their fortunes around. But it WILL NOT happen unless they start to play like they WANT to win. They haven't done that yet this year. While it's easy to blame the manger for this, it's also accurate to blame him. He fills out the lineup card every night ( supposedly ) and he needs to hold players accountable for their performance. Konerko SERIOUSLY needs a few days off to view tapes or take extra swings in the cage or whatever, and this team is ONLY flexible in the 1B/DH area. Frank or Daubach at 1b, Lee at DH and Daubach in left if it's Frank. Maybe instead of bringing up ANOTHER left-handed reliever, they should bring up Willie Harris and see if they can fix the problem in CF? The last thing this team needs is ANOTHER left-handed reliever - Wunsch and Marte are the only two guys getting people out in the bullpen! If they needd another reliever, they need a RIGHTY! If I can see this sitting at home, why can't the Sox coaching staff see it? Sometimes a change is necessary to turn things around, and if Manuel is only a good second-half manager ( as these late-season falling-short runs would indicate ) then maybe, just maybe, it's time to find someone who can guide the team to wins before the season is lost.
  21. ...for that "Little Things Win Ballgames" commercial!! Right after Rios fails MISERABLY at bunting the runners over and THEN hits into a double play!!! Little Mistakes Can Lose Ballgames Too!!!
  22. pk has our last inside the park homer in the tropicanna dome..it bounced off a post in play in left field rolled all the way into rf as the lf and cf ran into each other so the over/under on fallen outfielders is 2?
  23. How many outfielders have to fall down for PK to leg out a triple? And how long would the following time out last?
  24. I honestly don't give half a f*** what this kid ever does. All-Star, washout, criminal, who gives a s***? Just another product of the hype machine, designed and promoted to sell f***ing $150 sneakers. BFD
