  1. Hudler, my man, you underestimate the misinterpretation skills of the Chicago media! They are MASTERS at singling out one quote or one line of an interview and telling everyone what someone "was REALLY saying". Just watch - Frank's interview will be dissected and scoured for hidden meanings and out-of-context connections with other things. That said, Frank has been around a LONG time, and has never learned how to play the media here, so he really should just stop trying to. He should concentrate on the game and the team. He'd be better off if he did, but I'm wondering if he's talking again because the writers vote for the Hall Of Fame? I hope he's not thinking about that, but he does seem ( again, only from what I've read and seen ) to be very concerned about his legacy, and the Hall Of Fame was once a lock but maybe, in his mind, it no longer is.
  2. Saw a little blurb on CLuelessTV, and he still seemed a little bitter over "communication with management". He tried to spin it positively, but he did say that "you don't treat a 12-year player like a 2-year player".
  3. While I have no problem with classical music ( not my music of choice, but I recognize the quality ), it really doesn't fit the programming on SnR. Of course, with Korn and System Of A Down starting off every show, GOOD HARD MUSIC doesn't fit the format either apparently! Entombed, The Duskfall, Shadows Fall, In Flames, Red Tape, Nevermore, Soilwork...the list goes on and on...all better choices than Korn or SOAD, in my opinion.
  4. Hey, Apu, you'll probably have to go to one of the OTHER stations he's linking up to! RPS is very busy playing Korn and System Of A Down!! Body Count rules, by the way!
  5. Sorry, HSC, we'll have to respectfully disagree on this one. Say what you want about the Cubs ( no, really - say whatever you want about the Cubs ), but Wrigley is an excellent ballpark. I love old ballparks, and Wrigley gives me the same feeling that Real Comiskey did ( do we have to refer to old Comiskey as "Old US Cellular Field" now?? ). Sorry if that sounds like sacrilege, but I really like Wrigley Field. Could do without the trough for a urinal, though - that's a little too geigh for me...
  6. I did see them at Champs just before they broke out on MTV, and I thought they were the fourth-worst band I've ever seen ( the Bottom 3 being Flipper, The Flaming Lips and The Butthole Surfers ). Disturbed are truly horrible, in my opinion, even worse than Korn. The whole hoppity-hop nu-metal trend completely escapes me - I just don't enjoy that style of music. I like heavy metal and punk mainly, with some lighter stuff and old rap ( Ice T, Ice Cube, Dre ) on occasion.
  7. I don't think the cameraman helped things, since he was another obstacle in the way, but if people had headed towards any of the other three exits, more people would definitely have gotten out. I know your first instinct is to leave the way you came in, but from now on, I'll be more aware of all the ways I can get out of a club. I'm just sorry that these two incidents are what it takes to make me think about that... From what singer Jack Russell said, part of the back wall was foam padded, and when the pyro hit it, the fire spread like crazy. It's just tragic, no matter whose "fault" it is...
  8. Truer words were never spoken! NR =
  9. This is a bad idea. The possibility is VERY large that Frank will say something, the press will misquote or misinterpret it, and Frank will throw a hissyfit. This has happened before, as you all know. He'd almost be better off just pulling a Steve Carlton and stopping altogether with the press. He's waaaaaaay too sensitive of a guy, in my opinion.
  10. The guitarist's name is Ty Longley, and he has not been seen since the fire - he is feared dead or injured.
  11. The pyro went wrong during a Great White concert and the whole club went up in flames in minutes. At least 39 people are confirmed dead so far, and there are sure to be more. Apparently, people panicked and actually hampered the effort to escape. This is just horrible - you never think that when you go out for a night of fun, that you won't ever be coming home. There is talk of the club being overpacked and not having a license to do pyro - the place was only supposed to hold a couple hundred people. Terrible....just terrible...
  12. Maybe if you played something other than god-damned f***ing Korn, you wouldn't have to link over to other stations!!! Korn eats the same ass Disturbed eats!! And System Of A Down eats the leftovers!!

  14. Then he really COULD play Ted Williams!! "Jim Varney in his greatest role....the freezer scenes are truly authentic!!!"
  15. For the name alone!!! Go ahead, say the name out loud.....again.....AGAIN..... Isn't that FUN????
  16. I don't like any of the Sox announce teams Harrelson and his aw-shucks, down-home goober crap and stupid nicknames annoys me Jackson is okay, but he has to work with Harrelson John Rooney would be SO much better if he didn't use that "radio voice" ( Top of the shikshth, sheven to shicksh, White Shocksh ) Ed Farmer puts me to sleep - he LITERALLY puts me to sleep If I owned the Sox, I'd flush the whole bunch of them and start over.
  17. This would make a GREAT movie-of-the-week!! You've got celebrity, mystery, family feuds, spy tactics, severed heads, and baseball! COUNT ME IN!!! Who would star in the movie? I say Charlie Sheen as John Henry, and maybe that guy who plays Ernest as Ted Williams.
  18. ....kiss-ass..... lol but shes a virgin..........im sure that theres no ass kissing allowed ..........lol.....well unless you count the one on his shoulders as non virgin material............ genius, HSC, pure genius....

true true TRUE!! If you "protect" your season reservationists ( as Billy Buck likes to call them ) by excluding the rest of your potential audience, you fail to attract any FUTURE season reservationists... Has it ever occured to Billy Buck WHY the Bulls continue to draw big crowds when they've sucked for 4 or 5 years straight, while the Hawks can't fill the building for anyone other than Detroit or St. Louis ( and then it's only because of people FROM Detroit or St. Louis )??? ANSWER: The Bulls were on television ALL THE TIME while they were good, so people got used to seeing them win, and enjoyed the experience. SO, they are more likely to stick with a team during the down period ( to an extent ), because they have fond memories. Watching the Blackhawks only on the road is bad in two respects: Teams usually lose more than they win on the road, and If you only watch games where the crowd is cheering against "your" team, I think it can plant a seed subliminally. Not for intelligent people, of course, but for the sheep-like peer-pressured follower type. I'll say it again - I think the "casual" sports fan is NOT generally an intelligent person, so they're more likely to be swayed by what's seen as popular...

I am for WHATEVER IT TAKES to save the Blackhawks from their outdated, overbearing, shortsighted dinosaur of an owner. Even if it means shutting hockey down for a season....WHATEVER it takes....
  21. Can we please stop with this stupid "initial-first syllable" nickname crap? PLEASE? You say JRich or JWill or ERob, and who the f*** knows who you're talking about?? I mean, it's become completely ridiculous! Does EVERYBODY, even bench players or marginal guys like "ERob", have to have this idiotic nickname thing?? Let's get stupid - here's the Sox lineup for 2003: CLee - LF MBorch or WHar - CF MOrd - RF JCred - 3B JVal - SS DJim - 2B PKon - 1B MOl - C MBuer - P FThom - DH it's asinine...
  22. I saw Disturbed at Champs in Burbank just before they made it big, and I remember telling my wife that I just saw one of the most horrible bands I'd ever seen. The little dwarf singer had a nylon on his head and was posing like he was huge s***. Imagine my surprise when I saw that "WHaaa-aa-aa-aa" video on MTV not three weeks later. Shows that I don't have the ear for "popular music", I guess, but I still think they eat ass.

    Prison Name

I AM THE OX! ( and I am, too..... )
  24. All-time, it's Dick Allen - right now, it'd have to be Buerhle. He's double tough when he pitches, and aside from a couple of "jokes" at Cardinals gatherings, he doesn't really pop off in the papers, which I respect. I like players who just go about their business and don't piss and moan either TO or ABOUT the media. I'd like to ask a question. This is honestly NOT meant as a wisecrack, I'm just curious - a couple of people said that Shoeless Joe Jackson was their favorite all-time Sox player - how can that be, when you surely never saw him play? Again, just curious...
