I was listening to the postgame of the Bears game last Sunday on AM 1000, and the mongoloids on that station started talking about Emmitt Smith breaking Payton's record. One of them said something to the effect of, "I think Emmitt deserves a big pat on the back". Re: Pete Rose For what it's worth, I don't think Pete Rose should have to apologize for anything he did after he stopped playing the game in order to get into the Hall Of Fame as a player. When you get more hits than anyone else who ever played, you should be there. Otherwise, I think the Hall loses credibility. Not trying to diminish anyone else's opinions, because a lot of good points have been made for the other argument, but I just don't connect Pete Rose the player with Pete Rose the manager or Pete Rose the private citizen. They stick asterisks on everything else, just stick one on his induction that means "As A Player Only".

The Bulls are going to try real hard, but I don't really expect much from them this year. Still too young, too much learning to do. Just read a story at CNNSI.com saying that Kirby Puckett dragged a woman into a men's bathroom at a restaurant/bar and fondled her breast until she managed to escape. Happened last month, but he was charged with a felony criminal imprisonment charge and a misdemeanor sexual assault charge today. Did anybody hear about this before now? I hadn't. This is really disappointing if it's true. Puckett always seemed like a good guy...
