THE DELAY IS A MYTH!!! There IS no delay - it takes those drunk bastards about 10 seconds to realize what just happened...ON EVERY PLAY!!!
-
See, this is the genius of Billy Beane. I'm sure the fans of EVERY team that feels like they need a shortstop immediately started making lineups and assuming payrolls with the idea in mind of getting Tejada. As the trading deadline looms, any of these teams who are contending will bang on Beane's door to ask about Tejada. Beane can then attempt to empty their cupboard in trade. If the A's are contending ( and it's hard to believe they won't be ), Beane can settle for the draft picks ( as was mentioned earlier, he has no problem doing that ). If they're not, he can pull the trigger and fill multiple holes with prospects or low-paid young stars. If they're on the cusp of contending, Beane has to analyze the situation and make a tough decision. Tejada, meanwhile, plays the whole season as a "contract year". He beats the hell out of the ball, and he gets paid huge somewhere. Meanwhile, the A's get the benefits of Miguel showcasing himself. No one loses. Good move by Beane...again.

Drunk-Ass Crapsack! Think before you drink! overindulgence is a bad thing!

Yep....JR & KW will stop crying poor...that'll happen....any day now....just you wait and see.....

Maybe not Baggs. Kordell only signed a two year deal. That may be exactly the scenario that makes the Bears consider that option. I'd have an easier time believing that possibility if the Bears management wasn't so cheap and short-sighted. I really can't imagine Stewart doing well here. 2003 Bears Ad Campaign: "Aim Low And Pray"

I understand what he was trying to say, and there is merit to it. I'm just saying that you have to consider the source, and he is NOT a very credible source for any type of criticism. Since he is every bit the drunk that anyone else in the park is, you'd think he would relate to them. He hit like he didn't care if the Cubs won or lost either. One of the worst signings in Chicago sports history, period.
-
Yeah, but that guy is the LAST one to talk! He was half the reason that the Cubs lost all the time! Sounds like somebody has that "jilted ex-girlfriend feeling" where he has to talk s*** after he gets dumped. This is the same guy who talked ALL KINDS of s*** about LA and their fans after they got rid of him, and now he goes back like he never said anything. That loser will never admit, even to himself, that he had ONE good year and milked it for all it was worth. Pitchers figured him out, and he's just too dumb to adjust. As a catcher, he's a bad DH, and as a DH, he can't hit s***.

Now, now, let's cut Alex some slack - after all, there was MUCH to be celebrated on Sunday. 1. The Blackhawks WON A HOME GAME - that had not happened in a while 2. They scored EIGHT goals - that's usually a week's output, if not more 3. Alex was probably just drinking more to keep the stuff away from Blame It On Theo and Boozer Bob The Hawks may not lead the NHL in much, but they have GOT to be near the top of the league in alcohol-related controversies!!!

ESPN reporting that Tony Amonte was traded to the Flyers today in exchange for a minor leaguer and two draft picks. What a great exchange for Chicago and Phoenix, huh? Amonte washed out in Phoenix in less than one year, and the guy who was supposed to pick up the scoring slack for the Hawks, "Blame It On Theo", was an even worse bust. Watch Amonte contribute to Philly's playoff run now - back with JR. Wonder how he'll get along with Roenick after last year's high-sticking incident?
-
They still suck, they still won't make the playoffs, and I'm sure we'll read their delusional comments in the papers tomorrow about "it's not over, we still control our own destiny, there's still time", and so on, and then they'll score a total of 3 goals in their next 4 games. They talked that same s*** after they scored 7 on the Blow Jackets, and they stunk up every rink they walked into for the next month. I expect no better from them now.
-
No offense intended, man, but what exactly is he supposed to say? "I know the loss of ME is going to spell certain doom for my teammates, and I just hope they can stay within 20 games out of first, so I can work my magic when I come back"??? Fact is, Milton said what ANY team would want their players to say when they can't contribute. If a Sox player went down, this kind of quote would be applauded here as "showing confidence in our team". Let's not be blinded by team loyalty - Milton didn't say anything pompous there.

THE JINX CONTINUES!!! It's YOUR fault, RPS!! :fyou ? -
The team is pathetic - no one can score any goals, and Sutter wore out Thibault AGAIN. This year is exactly what I expected, unfortunately. Nobody could have predicted the depths to which the team has sunk, but in retrospect, letting a decent scorer and veteran presence like Amonte go ( and I don't want to hear about his struggles in Phoenix - if he was here. he'd have put up better numbers than last year, I'm sure of it ) and replacing him with a troubled smaller aging player like Fluery could NOT have worked. This team has more problems than they have solutions, and last year is looking more and more like a fluke with each passing game.

HOLY CRAP!!! They must have some great restaurants in Arizona!!! ...or at least some "All-You-Can-Eat" buffets!!!

While you make good points about Peter and Ace f***ing up their spots in Kiss, it's also fair to say that when the reunion tour took place, Gene and Paul needed Ace and Peter almost as much as Ace and Peter needed them. Kiss was falling off the radar screen quickly at that point - CD sales were as thin as Gene's real hair, and concert crowds were dwindling as well. Sure, they still sold a lot of Kiss Krap, but they were being reduced to the Trekkie-like convention circuit. So they took advantage of Ace and Peter's weak bargaining position and signed them on at an insulting pay rate of 10% of the profits each. So I really can't blame the guys for wanting a bigger piece of the pie once Kiss re-established themselves, even if it was as an oldies show and novelty act. Fact of the matter is, if they hadn't done the makeup tour with the ORIGINAL line-up, nobody would have cared. Gene and Paul should have at least recognized that and given the guys a bonus of some sort. But Simmons and Stanley are totally greedy f***s, and will never recognize that anyone other than themselves could possibly have anything to do with any success Kiss has.

ESPN Classic is chronicling the scandal of 1919 tonight, starting at 7 pm Central time. They have a Sports Century show called "Black Sox Ban" and then they're showing "Eight Men Out", one of the all-time best sports movies, in my humble opinion. Well acted throughout and sympathetic to the right people, I think ( particularly Jackson and Weaver ).
-
Kiss are the Home Shopping Network of music, except that NOTHING they sell is low-priced. Come on, $150 for a f***ing BOOK??? The Kiss Army is so close to being Trekkies that it isn't even funny....no wait, I take that back - it's VERY funny!! "Ah'm onna git berried inna KISS CASKET!! Ah'll be thuh kewlist guy in the cemetary!!!"
-
:puke :puke :puke Stick a fork in Kiss... so is the new official sign that a band officially sucks now? This orchestra bulls***? Aerosmith, Pathetica and now Kiss? .....ugh.....very ugh..... and by the way, I still think it's REALLY pathetic to pass Tommy Thayer off as Ace Frehley and ( I believe it's Eric Singer ) as Peter Criss by throwing them out their in Ace and Peter's clothes. Gene and Paul showed their true colors with that classless move.

couldn't be worse than RedPinStripes' show on Sundays!! :fyou

Heard the quote on the Mark Patrick On Sports show on the Score at about 4:30 this morning. Haven't seen it in print anywhere yet.

I heard a quote from Mike Schmidt "explaining" why nobody was voted into the Hall Of Fame yesterday. He claimed that it's the opinion of the old players that "if you aren't a Hall Of Famer by the time you reach the Veterans Committee, then you're probably not a Hall Of Famer at all". That's a Top Ten Moron Quote if I've ever heard one! It's typical of the self-centered, thoughtless, lazy mindset of the typical athlete. Here are guys who say that writers couldn't POSSIBLY know what it takes to play sports, so they have no right to write about them, but when it comes to the Hall Of Fame, if the writers haven't inducted you by now, you must not be any good! What a stupid mixed message THAT is. Maybe Schmidt felt that Santo would have made such a bawling, emotional speech that Schmidt's own baby-like "I thank God my dream came true" sobfest would be forgotten or something. Every time Mike Schmidt talks, he proves that ALL he was ever good for was hitting and catching a little ball. If the rest of the Veterans Committe really feels the same as Schmidt, then just disband the Veterans Committee right now - they're obviously worthless.

Did you see Etienne take his mouthpiece out while he was "knocked out"? He hit the mat, took out his mouthpiece, then closed his eyes and laid back. It was just like the old days - Tyson pummels a nobody in no time. Glad I didn't pay a penny for it.
-
Maybe somebody can help me here - my cousin asked me this yesterday, and I honestly had no answer for him: When was the last time the Hawks signed a top-tier free agent? Not a has-been like Rick Vaive, Steve Thomas or Bob Probert, and not a bargain-basement problem child like Theo Fleury. Have the Hawks EVER spent the money for a true impact player? I don't think they ever have...maybe Michel Goulet? Or did they trade for him? Either way, that was so long ago, it's pathetic.

You can play SOD ( Stormtroopers Of Death ) all you want - they're funny as hell, but please don't play SoaD, cuz they suck. :fyou right back atcha, you big burrito-eatin drunk, you!!!
