Thibault's play has been VERY encouraging thus far, although as Heather said, the competition has not been upper-tier quality yet. But, perhaps getting the confidence up against the "weak sisters" will carry over when the Hawks start facing the better competition. By the way, the refs BETTER NOT relax on calling the interference and obstruction penalties! I am LOVING the pace of the games so far! End to end, constant movement, fewer breaks in the action.....uh oh....fewer breaks means fewer commercials....ohhhhhh nooooo.....

Yeah, that's the impression I get about Pittsburgh - there's the Steelers, and who cares about the rest. When the Pirates were good ( remember that? ), the good people of Pittsburgh stayed home during the playoffs. The Penguins don't draw flies without Lemieux, and barely draw flies even with him. Why do you think that is? I always hear that the economy is bad there, and people can't afford to go to games. Do you think that theory holds water, or is it something else?

I'm checking out the Penguins-Leafs game on ESPN Dos, and the 15, 000 people are SILENT. Jeez, the Columbus crowd puts them to shame! No wonder the NHL is always trying to find a way to eliminate Pittsburgh - nobody cares about the Pens there!

Al Morganti of ESPN picks the Los Angeles Kings to defeat the New York Islanders for the Stanley Cup!?! Anyone agree? I can't see this happening AT ALL - they'll both be good teams, but there would have to be some pretty major upsets for this Final to occur. Of course, anyone who picked the Carolina Hurricanes to make the Finals last year would have been laughed at pretty hard, too...

Useless god-damn Mark Grace can devote ALL his time to whoring for the media now, because the Champs are DEAD. They're the keys to their whole offense. And is Suk-Sum Dik the worst "closer" in baseball or what?? s***, he's even worse than that 6-fingered f*** the Cubs have! I went to Phoenix for a game in September, and Suk-Sum came in to hold a one-run lead in the 9th. I told my wife, "Let's go, I don't want to stick around for extra innings". She just laughed, but when we got outside, what did we hear on the radio? "And the Brewers have tied the score at 5". Too f***ing predictable...
