"The recording artists I prefer are musically superior to the recording artists you prefer" You'll never change anyone's mind about the bands they like, you can only try to introduce them to the bands you like, in the hope that others might enjoy them as much as you do. By the way....Korn sucks....

I think they're going to give teams a hard time. They have some good hitters, they seem to play OK defense, and their pitching is young but decent. I was impressed with MacDougal as a closer - if they can get to him with the lead, I think he'll wrap up most of his save opportunities. I think it's good that there's a third competitive team in the Central - it'll give the Sox some tough games, which is ALWAYS good for the team's concentration and focus. Trust me, the Sox will come out blasting in the next KC series. I think they may have taken them for granted last time, but that won't happen twice.

I actually let out a HUGE sigh of relief when I realized that Honda wasn't doing the Hawks game last night. I think he sucks compared to ANYONE - I find him to be really annoying and forced. I hate PA guys who feel like they have to draw attention to themselves - Messmer is another one I wish would go away. I don't know who did last night's Hawk game, but he did a good job.

I always like going to shake hands with the Little Man In The Boat!!
-
You might want to rethink that - Stark also picks the Twins to win it all. I've always thought that Stark was an idiot too...

April 22nd..... .....the mighty SUPERSUCKERS..... ...."Motherf***ers Be Trippin", the new CD..... Did I mention ?

Remlinger is a quality arm ( and has closed ), Veres still has some gas in the tank, in my opinion ( and has closed ), and Borowski is still somehow getting people out. I was VERY impressed by what I saw of Angel Guzman, and if Farnsworth ever gets his head on straight he could dominate. So I think their bullpen will be much improved over last year, even though their best reliever last year is now on the Sox! OK, enough Cub talk from me!!

I can only tell you why I am going - three points: My sister-in-law and her husband are coming to town, and asked if we could see a game I still LOVE hockey, even if the Hawks suck I'm not a huge fan of the AHL, even though the Wolves put on a quality show - the NHL is still the best brand of hockey available ( even when the home team sucks )

and the league where SOME of your 47-hoppers actually got through for hits!!! ....well, not many, but a few!
-
From what KW said on the broadcast today, look for 3 catchers for at least a month or two. I don't know why you'd want 3 catchers when you've already said that Alomar will catch Buerhle and Colon. That means 2 catchers split the other 3 games - I don't get it...

Frank didn't say anything stupid!! YAAAAAAAAY!!!!

I'm going next Friday to ( unfortunately ) see the Blues pummel the lowly Blackhawks. Did you see that there was still a hat on the ice for Yashin's hat trick when he scored his 4th goal? What's a hat doing on the ice for a freakin' ISLANDER hat trick anyway???

Your "skill" might not keep you in a lineup, but it DOES keep you on a roster - you're VERY good at the bar! Mike on team = happy sponsor!! and Killa, the league Guido played on was a Sunday morning league, which is only one step above the Special Olympics! It was the kind of league where guys brought their equipment bag and a cooler of beer at 9:30 am!!
-
Yeah, but it's funny how even the Sunday morning drunks can pick up your 47-hoppers, bobble it for about 30 seconds and STILL throw you out by 3 steps!!

I don't think I'll ever take Ken Rosenthal
The Critic replied to witesoxfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't think that's a biased pick. I don't see any disrespect towards the Sox or anyone else. He analyzed their team pretty clearly, and I think it can easily be said that the Twins having good pitchers step in to replace the injured guys is not so much luck as it is good player development. The deciding factor in the AL Central race is obviously going to be the head-to-head between the Sox and Twins. Both teams should pummel the rest of the division, so their season series should decide the race. -
They already have a stupid-ass mascot - a dirty bum with new teeth and an old grimy Cub uniform who chirps "WOO" in between every word...that jackass... The Cubs have excellent pitching, both starting and relief, but that staff is going to get very frustrated by the inept offense and spotty defense. Bellhorn, Gonzalez, Grudzielanek, Alou, and Sosa are all nightmares defensively. That's a lot of holes - you can be bad defensively if you hit a ton. It still doesn't bode well come playoff time, but you can get away with it in the regular season. But if you don't hit, you'd BETTER be able to grab the ball. This year's Angels? Nahhh...this year's Padres? More like it...

It's not all about OBP in softball - softball is about banging and going first-to-third. RPS needs the guy behind him to get a triple for him to go 1st-to-3rd! The guy's "human cholesterol" out there, blocking the basepaths!! As far as my ugly swing goes, I don't remember anyone giving style points, baby! I generate power from my big fat ass! ...having drunks out in right field never hurts, either!!
-
That's a good demographic to attract, gotta admit it! I guess even if you have nothing to say, if you say it in a certain way, some women will swoon...

Here's who I'd choose between them: Colon or McDowell - this is close, since McDowell was pretty nasty in 93 - even Buerhle or Alvarez - not even close - Buerhle Fernandez or Garland - Fernandez was more developed and hadn't yet plummeted - Alex Loiaza or Bere - while Loaiza has looked good, Bere was better in 93 - Bere Wright or #5 - would that have been Steib? - either way, this is a wash - even Konerko or Thomas - sorry, Paul, Frank was maybe the best hitter in baseball then - Thomas Jiminez or Cora - Joey Cora did a lot of nice things for that team, and D'Angelo hasn't done anything yet - Joey Valentin or Guillen - I want some D from my SS, so I go with Ozzie Crede or Ventura - this is close all of a sudden, too, but I still take Robin Alomar or Fisk - not even close - Fisk Lee or Jackson - two DH's in left field - I was one of the few people I knew who didn't like Bo Jackson, so I keep that in mind and take C Lee Rowand or Johnson - I also HATED Lance Johnson, so I take Rowand out of spite Ordonez or Sax - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA - Ordonez Thomas or Burks - can I have TWO Frank Thomases on my team? - I take Frank Graffanino or Calderon - I was a big Calderon fan, so I take Ivan Daubach or Newson - I am becoming a big Daubach fan, so I take Brian Miles or Pasqua - this is closer than I figured too, but Miles hasn't done it in the bigs yet, so I go with Danny SweetLeaf Rios or Raines - Raines actually started more games in left than Bo, didn't he? I take The Rock So I end up taking more '93 guys than today's - but if things go the way I think they will this year, this could be a team people bring up in comparisons like this for years to come...

If anyone should wish for silent movies to return, it's Vin Diesel. "In a world....where no one speaks....ONE MAN....is happiest of all.....Vin Diesel IS.....The Quiet Moron"

I'm gonna stab you in the face when i see you again. :fyou Mike North is a sore subject for RPS and his family. North said a family member of RPS' was dogging it during one of those cable access televised 16" softball games. North has been in RPS' sights ever since. Killa, I don't blame Red for getting pissed about that - I've played on teams with that family member for a LONG time, and he NEVER dogs a play! North just didn't know him, so he felt comfortable talking s*** about him. That's what North does - his favorites can do no wrong, and he'll only blast guys he doesn't know or doesn't like. North is an idiot, and an embarrassment to anything he touches.
-
I'm gonna stab you in the face when i see you again. :fyou If you handle a knife like you handle a bat, I'm not too concerned! If you connected at all, it would be a very small stab wound! I knew that would get a reaction, since I know your opinion of the 7 Million Dollar Hot Dog Man!

It'll be interesting to have a Royce in town that people actually like! and let me be the 353rd to say that Royce as a closer has a nice "Ring" to it!!
-
I wonder what the Cardinals sent Mark for his birthday?
-
Yeah, Mike North had a restraining order placed against RPS, so he had to revert to his previous name. ...RPS's love affair with North continues, though.... He's often seen outside the Score's broadcast studios, holding a boombox over his head playing "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel. RPS stands there, weeping, asking over and over why North won't return his phone calls and asking if Mike gets the letters he sends. "But I changed my name to be like you - don't you SEE that????" It would be sad, if it wasn't so hilarious.
