  1. Funny thing is during the season I'm always accused of being too positive. During the off season it's the opposite. Spending 50 million on relievers will do that to a guy.
  2. Sox had never made playoffs back to back years. Now sox fans pretending the game isn't fun and this team not worth watching because there are some teams who are better on paper on their likely quest to make playoffs 3 years in a row. Spoiled. I hate on the FO as much as anyone, and this was a brutal off season, but this team and these guys are a great time to root for.
  3. I mean, it's called an opinion pal. I grew up in the 90's. I'll take these teams.
  4. Nothing more beautiful than one of these
  5. Any team that makes the playoffs can win the whole thing. The sox were a better team than the Braves last year. You're speaking nonsense.
  6. Giolito is boring? Grandal? Yoan? We have different definitions of boring. Team is as fun a team as I've seen in my life as a sox fan. The problem with last year was honestly that they had no meaningful games the final 2+ months of the season.
  7. You're both crazy. I'm excited for white sox baseball and baseball in general when we completely suck. Now I get to watch guys like Robert and anderson everyday. Team is fun, exciting and incredibly talented. They haven't received the help they deserve from management but that doesn't take any of the joy away from watching them play.
  8. So the Braves traded all those prospects only to go on and pay Olson more than Freddie got. Olson is younger but man that move just feels... miscalculated.
  9. Doubt Freddie brings the energy or TWTW that a guy like Harrison brings.
  10. I have been saying the Sox aren't signing any of those guys. They should, but no chance they do. They instead did what they always do and wasted a ton of money on guys, some of which have a very good chance of being bad enough to be DFA'ed mid year.
  11. I mean Hahn actually said they misread the market before the lockout and didn't expect all those signings and offers out there.
  12. Reading both their tweets, they feel like story tellers. I think they're probably right that sox aren't spending more. I don't think jr has seen "the books."
  13. This guy running off talking about how he's seen the "books" and the sox don't make any profit at all and if they do put it all back into the team is what gave this guy away as a fraud to me. Hes seen the books and is spouting off on Twitter about it to everyone? Seems unlikely
  14. Joc has been receiving some not great advice from his agent recently it sounds like. ALthough Atlanta may have told him they weren't retaining him.
  15. I'm not sure when Pal became an insider instead of an insult, but I'm not buying it either way.
  16. Engel can't really hit righties and Joc can't hit lefties while Engel can. Wouldn't be the worst pair in mlb history.
  17. I didn't want Joc, although I'd trust him more to hit righties than Sheets. I just thought it was hilarious Hahn gave Harrison only .5 million less.
  18. Joc got .5 million more than Hahn gave Harrison. You can't make this shit up
  19. The current platoon contains 2 first basemen and the man of glass. Although I'll say Vaughn is fine in LF. I'd trust Joc vs righties more than sheets though.
  20. Ok. Rockies twice, sox twice in past 5. Doesn't change much.
  21. Last 14 years rockies have been to playoffs 4 times. 1 more time than the Sox. They're run by idiots, but crazier things have happened.
  22. Bryant can play 3B too, and I don't see anyone going to 7 years or even 6 for Conforto and Castellanos. Bryant has a larger pedigree and has actually been an MVP before who plays everywhere. He's risky because he's regressed, but I don't consider Conforto or Castellanos all that similar.
  23. Me neither, but Kris Bryant has nothing to do with the sunken Arenado $. Those prospects cost that money, nothing more, nothing less.
  24. Not as baffling as that weird comparison Sherman is making, as if somehow Kris Bryant costs both his contract and the sunk cost that was Arenado's contract, which also netted the Rockies prospects.
  25. Yeah, I'd love to know what the next closest offer was. This seems like an extra year and an extra 20+ish million to get him to play in Colorado.
