  1. What? This is quite the reach. This is about them likely not trusting Luis Gonzalez to play in MLB games.
  2. Sox have multiple off days next week I believe. They won't need a 5th starter until the following week.
  3. If you've ever heard Hawk pronounce or talk about Japanese baseball players, whom he referred to as "naturally sneaky" on the air, I think it's safe to say that while he may be a decent guy, he's probably had his fair share of runs ins with offensive comments in his life. Just as most of our grandfathers have lol
  4. The NL Central is awful. AL central is 8 games over .500.
  5. If Hawk Harrelson can go his entire career without uttering a slur into his mic, anyone should be capable of doing so. No excuses!
  6. I hate the term cancelled; he's not being cancelled, he's being held accountable by his employer the same way any of us would be. If I got caught saying that in front of my bosses at any job I've ever had I'd be out; now magnify it by a million and broadcast to your bosses and the world.
  7. JOSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  8. OMG i didn't even see that before. I'm dead.
  9. Evan Marshall may be awesome now, but I still can't watch with absolute confidence. It's something blocking my brain from accepting it all the way. His off speed stuff is so good.
  10. I can't stop laughing; my favorite part is I can't figure out if he's saying he's not gay or if he isn't the kind of guy who says things like what he said like 5 minutes earlier lol; when he said "that's not who I am."
  11. Yeah, he's lost it again. He's moving his hands too much again, and dropping down. Hard to shake age old bad habits.
  12. him begging people to come to his defense is an all-timer
  13. Wonder if Robert is available to pinch hit.
  14. into the toilet. this guy sucks. wasted one of my few calls on this nerd.
  15. Nomar about to drop a bomb
  16. He was at 65 pitches when everyone wanted him to come out of the game. The Sox very obviously wanted to see Dunning throw more than 65 pitches tonight. I would guess they were given a pitch count to hit, and if he didn't get lit he was getting there. Even at 5 innings he's throwing 90+ pitches probably as a rookie. And again, if you never pass that number then he'll never not be fatigued past that number.
  17. I honestly couldn't believe Benetti didn't comment on it. He almost hit it out to center with one f*cking hand.
  18. I hear you tony, but the Sox don't have weeks to build Dane Dunning's arm strength up to 90+ pitches and 5-6 innings. The season is over in like 5 weeks. They need him to be a starter now, which is why they're using him, and he's going to have to learn how to pitch through fatigue on the job and shit like this is going to happen. Managers need to see waht they're guys have. Same thing with Mize being left out there. That's a part of the maturation process. You can't just assume your guy can't get out of it becuase he looks a little tired; you need to give him a chacne to show you.
  19. Dane Dunning is not 12 months removed from TJ. He is 16? months removed from TJ. The White Sox NEEEED to stretch out Dane Dunning if they want him to start. They cannot stretch him out in simulated games as a rookie who has never made a MLB start; it just won't work that way as well. Part of building up arm strength is throwing through fatigue.
  20. yeah, and how do you get him used to a 3rd time thru, or see how his stuff plays a third time thru with some fatigue without trying it. People on here make decisions based on maximizing every run and win; it's just not how managers or teams manage games.
  21. a part of PD is giving a guy a chance to get there. i know you don't think so, and you think every MLB decision is made solely about winning every single match-up and batter but it's just not true. i also think a part of PD is getting a guy out of there feeling good abotu himself too, so this was a two way street. I can see both sides of this one.
  22. i think he for sure lost his release point and was not throwing with the same demeanor. you may be right, i just thought it had more to do with the balls at his head. either way he looked fantastic.
