  1. traded good talent for colome lol
  2. Once again, these comps are awful. Floyd and Garland were light years better than Giolito.
  3. No. But it doesnt matter.
  4. He's starting the season as the starting outfielder of the big club. This isn't a question at this point
  5. Lol you guys are nuts. He comes up now.
  6. A historically lucky championship is the cardinals team that won like 83 games. Nothing about wire to wire best in league and 11-1 in post season is historically lucky.
  7. Theres absolutely nothing complimentary about someone telling you that you won something - especially a title - because of luck. Have you ever competed at anything in your life? I imagine you have. To claim calling a win historically lucky is a compliment is so laughable idk what to say. There's nothing complimentary about being called a lucky winner.
  8. Yes, if things went wrong instead of right for the championship team they wouldn't have won. They lost one postseason game and you're creating a way for them to not get out of round 1. Gtfo. Historical luck. My goodness. Literally none of the things you listed are historically lucky. 1. 6 starting pitchers? Yes, injury "luck" but a tale of self boosted luck. For 20 years the white Sox had the fewest pitchers on the DL due to an organizational process. 2. Someone with influence in the organization talking up a player to a GM is not abnormal and certainly not lucky. 3. Dye did the right thing. A verbal contract - FTR - is binding. If he agreed he agreed. Certainly not lucky. 4. Errors happen every single day. 5. Errors followed up by home runs happen all the time. 6. Pitchers get out of bases loaded jams with no outs many times in a baseball season. The one thing they were historically good/lucky (however you look at it) at was 1 run games.
  9. Historical luck? Give me a fucking break.
  10. Trout is probably twice as good as machado.
  11. At this point, some White Sox fans are like the husbands that b**** about their wives for 3 decades, 24 hours a day.
  12. This is nonsense. To overcome baseball scouting assumptions you need to have an incredible skill somewhere and being a 20 fv on the power scale isn't going to ever get you to the top level. You can generate an incredible amount of power when compared to your size if you have great hands. You just need to learn. Pedroia is a frequent and decent comp but madrigal has better hands than Pedroia. Does it mean he'll be better? Of course not, but to say he hasn't wowed anyone is absolutely baloney. He has to WOW people more than any prospect in America to get where he is.
  13. Sometimes I dont think people understand how much madrigal had to prove and overcome to be considered the best college bat in the country for mlb scouting purposes. Guys his size don't get that recognition without having a generational skill. Did he wear down last year? Of course. That's actually his biggest risk for a long season. But the kid has a talent that you just don't see often.
  14. He's certainly wowed actual talent evaluators who still (this spring) see him as the most mlb ready hitter from the last draft. I'm not sure what people expected? He needs to add strength and some weight but he's not going to be hitting any tape measure Homers or 120 mph liners. He makes things happens with incredible hands. Probably the best hands in baseball and I'm not exaggerating. Not striking out at his rate is just all hand to ball. Hands arent everything but guys with hands like him get 70 hit grades for a reason... and in turn are frequently +++ defenders for the same reason.
  15. This is what happens when you cant repeat your mechanics because you've changed them so many times you're not even sure what they are. He's not good.
  16. If he turned into gavin floyd at this point it would be a massive success.
  17. This is funny. Why would anyone believe Levine over Gomez is beyond me. Levine brutally wrong about denying Sox manny offer.
  18. Minaya cleared waivers too; apparently it's very possible he's suffering from an arm ailment as his velocity and stuff are way down.
  19. LOL at Robert, Cease and Madrigal for anyone; let alone a pitcher with a strong injury history. No one is netting 3 top 30ish prospects in baseball. Chris Sale on a team friendly deal and durability and longevity only netted 2 top 30 guys.
  20. Hector was spot on about the white Sox offer.
  21. You dont seem to understand. The Sox are trying to control his cost. Theres nothing laughable about it. They clearly project that in their opinion he will be worth more than the contract. It's a gamble but all early contracts are. A gamble the Sox have absolutely dominated since they started doing it.
  22. Ron, 200 at bats proves nothing by the way and wouldnt change the statistical projection for eloy. Signing him now or at the all star break is no different. They bought out arb years and a year of free agency (two for some). It's the same premise.
  23. The one thing left this organization has been proven to be to be very sharp, ahead of the market, and good at is these extensions. I'll trust that whatever they put together here is a good one as well.
