  1. So... what good pitcher is going to sign up to be a long reliever and destroy his earning potential? I'll give you a hint. None of them.
  2. Lol Engel is the outfield version (although much less hyped) of giolito. He's even worse though. Engel will change his stance mid game. I appreciate that he's trying at least but it wont get him anywhere I dont think.
  3. Yeah, routine ball booted to extend the inning but nothing earned and he would have had another efficient and dominant 3 up 3 down.
  4. Not sure what this means. His change showed and started at the beginning of last year. Lambert didnt generate swings an misses in 2017 despite having above average stuff. He lived down in the zone with everything. Last year they made a dramatic change to his approach and his stuff now plays up to where it should. He was very good last year and looks even better (stuff wise) out of the gate this year.
  5. Reading this makes me so happy that Omar Vizquel is the AA manager - where Robert should spend a lot of time in the next year. There aren't many players in the history of baseball smarter than Vizquel... and the great thing with Vizquel, is that he should have the respect of everyone too given his career.
  6. Defense did just fuck him and he got squared up for a homer, but his stuff will play up I think and he should have had about a 9 pitch 3 up 3 down inning there.
  7. Said it a couple weeks back, but Lambert will be the White Sox biggest prospect surprise this year. I love the way he has completely changed his repertoire and his approach the past 12 months. His use of the high fastball has completely changed the view of his breaking pitches. Lambert is looking like a MLB Starter to me the past 12 months.
  8. Just use a six man to start the season.
  9. What a stupid post anyway. I'll just blame pregnancy hormones. Ashley, why would the Sox sign Rodon to an extension before he stays healthy and performs well for at least 1 year? And where did she read that? Why is she responding to some random person on the internet? My lord.
  10. He took BP again today so I imagine he's fine. I'd guess today was seeing how his hand bounced back.
  11. Rodon has just been hurt. It's hard to fault the team for that.
  12. He's a competitive sob and I love it. The team needs more guys with Tim's attitude. He works his ass off, plays his ass off and has a lot of swagger.
  13. Given him losing a month and a half or so with the hand injury - and the issue players have with coming back the same year from hand injuries - I'd be surprised. It'll probably take him all year just to fully recover from the injury. I hope I'm wrong though.
  14. Was thinking the same thing. Will record and watch Lambert probably.
  15. His defense was well above average defensively last year despite a slow start. Continuing to improve would mean he becomes an elite defensive SS. Tim was a 50-70th ranked prospect. If he turns into a constant all star he far exceeded expectations. If hes a 3+ WAR SS for a few years he outperformed prospects that were similarly ranked. Tim is literally the least of the white Sox concerns and still has a chance to be perhaps to he surprisingly really good. More than likely he'll be at least average which would be fine. I do think he has a really big year though. 4+ WAR.
  16. That is far from the most thorough explanation. The Oregonian piece published had the police report excerpts and quotes from people actually involved - as well as the police department. There were a bunch of lunatic Beaver fans who attacked the Oregonian and said they were bias because they liked the Ducks so that's why the did this. That is obviously an absurdly stupid acquisition. And the entire clerical error thing was nonsense in the first place - the first PR campaign launched by the Heimlichs. He still had to register as a sex offender for 5 years. Even if you say there was a mistake - which I have never seen the court document supporting that the case was dismissed due to Clerical error (I imagine it's just as likely it was dismissed because to terms of the plea deal were potentially voided by the leaking of the case information) - I'm not going to lose sleep over him being exposed for what he did. By the way, saying he only admitted it under a single circumstance is incredibly disingenuous. He admitted it the ONLY time it legally mattered, and he never once referenced the incident - or issued any denial - until he was exposed. He didn't campaign for his innocence. The part about the accuser always being believed in the juvenile system is a load of hogwash (Once again, PR BS put out by the Heimlichs) - the burden of proof in the judicial system vs the juvenile system is NOT different. In fact, when the motion was filed to make the burden of proof in juvenile court the same as civil court (because the punishments weren't as strong) it was shot down and the burden of proof remained the same for both. This part is complete bullshit as well: "Heimlich and his family have chosen not to be quoted about his situation. But they recently provided the Portland Tribune with therapist reports and court records, which offer some information not previously made public. The Tribune also conducted interviews with Luke, his father, Mark Heimlich, his mother, Meridee Heimlich, and his sister, Faith Heimlich, who all gave perspective on Luke's life, and theirs together. Many things have become evident, including that Luke has been steadfast in denying the allegations against him, from the time he first met with police officers in 2012 until today." Uh no, actually he hasn't been steadfast in denial since day one because he fucking plead guilty! That article you cited is literally a collection of defense quotes and stories released by Luke's immediate family. The same people who sat there and had him say he was guilty. This is all BS - it's the Heimlichs trying to save themselves after the exposure. Fuck him. "Polygraph tests often are used to determine the veracity of suspects or witnesses, and to monitor criminal offenders on probation. Luke and his parents would have welcomed the opportunity for a polygraph asking questions directly related to his niece, but their attorney said polygraph results are inadmissible in Washington court, and he advised against asking Luke specific questions." More BS from your article - nothing about a polygraph is reliable or reasonable in terms of defense.
  17. Of course it's cut and dry. I have no idea how anyone could argue otherwise. Plenty of convicted murderers deny the crime - does that mean it didn't happen? The only person who has ever said he didn't do it is Luke heimlich himself. Sorry if I'm not sold. Have a good one. NCAA has no felony clause so no he wouldn't have been kicked out.
  18. Ok, but youre still putting some blame on the victim here which is absolutely absurd, imo. Victim shaming a victim that was 6 at the time and that the accused admitted to the act. Of course hes gonna say he didn't do it now. Edit: not sure victim shaming is the right word, but your implication is that she could have been complicit in setting up Luke at 6 years old and I just don't by it.
  19. Yes, I am quoting the police statement and you are quoting some story put out by the heimlich PR campaign.
  20. Nothing was fully expunged. You're reading some PR nonsense put out by team Luke that was damage control. His felony conviction would show up on a background check. He had/has to register as a sex offender the rest of his life. He had to register as one in college.
  21. What you read is wrong. He literally put his confession in writing. "I admit that I had sexual contact" with the girl, Heimlich wrote.
  22. Huh? Here is my case. She said it happened multiple times - over multiple years. The child described to the cops what happened. Luke was charged. He admitted he did it. So now, we have a child telling the story, the police pursuing it and the person accused admitting it. That seems pretty cut and dry. Luke then becomes potentially rich and famous, this resurfaces, he now denies it because he figures that's his only way out. So not only did we have an accusation but also a conviction and a confession. You somehow think the side you're sitting in in this discussion has equal standing or facts behind it. No. You have one guy saying nope, never happened.
  23. https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/aggressiveness-head-first-slides-part-of-my-game-white-sox-robert-says/ Sigh
  24. You need to read the original article posted on the Oregonian. The girl told investigators that inside Heimlich's bedroom, he pulled down her underwear and "touched her on both the inside and outside of the spot she uses to go to the bathroom," according to court records. "She said that she told him to stop, but he wouldn't," the documents state, and that "it hurt" when he touched her. A 6 year old girl told police that. He pled guilty. Now he says he didn't do it when it's very convenient to claim such. 6 year old girl made it up?
