  1. Disagree. And also who cares, it's a one game gimmick for shits and giggles. Not everything needs to be some grand indictment of the organization.
  2. If the amount of credit he gives to Ron Washington is to be taken seriously, then doubtful. And I believe a lot of his defensive value is helped by playing next to chapman, not that he hasn't greatly improved.
  3. Semien, in my mind, is a bigger indictment on player dev. I don't think they'd ever get out of in what the A's have.

That's an awful lot of postponed games
  5. This is so dumb but Bill Walton is rarely not tier 1 content
  6. The people it was pretty obviously directed are making quite a big deal out of it...
  7. It's honestly kind of hilarious that Ron assumes people who say anything positive are obsessed with Abreu and Greg thinks everyone hates him. Like a balancing force, without which we would topple over.
  8. The TA/Gleyber Torres poster really highlights how bizarre the stance on the original cover is. People don't stand like that Mr Costner.
  9. Like I said, plan and execute are different things. They'll probably fall flat on their face because that's what they do, but I think there's more than one indication that they expect to be a good team.
  10. Have to imagine MLB is comping the owner to leave a field unplanted for parking
  11. I think it was. Their official communication said this is in partnership with the MLB vs the yankees just saying they're happy to be involved. And even if it wasn't, I don't think the MLB could or would force a team to give up their biggest gate of the year.
  12. Not necessarily a huge splash, but it does sound like it was their idea, and I don't think they would want to embarrass themselves so maybe a sign they expect to flip a switch. Expect and execute, of course, are totally different things though.
  13. WSD was super hyperbolic, but I do think there's some truth to the idea that they wouldn't put this together if they were planning on running a AAAA team out there.
  14. Would Sox/Reds being leaning into it too hard?
  15. Really enjoyed the commitment to the setting by making the movie as corny as possible though ?
  16. They’re building a temporary field.
  17. It kinda sucks *also ducks*
  18. MLB did this what two weeks ago? It’s a fun idea.
  19. Well he’s reading awfully far into this.
  20. I agree with all of this I was just making an observation
  21. 1)Because they’re playing with a super ball that they weren’t playing with in 2015. The average OPS is 40 points higher league wide. 2) there are more good hitters but the bad hitters are WAY worse.
  22. They both suck. If were picking between two guys who suck I'll take the cheap one. The optimal thing to do would be find someone else.
  23. They also have to carry an extra guy after several years of three man benches. A 26th man who's mostly a bum is probably going to be extremely common league wide.
