  1. Not necessarily a huge splash, but it does sound like it was their idea, and I don't think they would want to embarrass themselves so maybe a sign they expect to flip a switch. Expect and execute, of course, are totally different things though.
  2. WSD was super hyperbolic, but I do think there's some truth to the idea that they wouldn't put this together if they were planning on running a AAAA team out there.
  3. Would Sox/Reds being leaning into it too hard?
  4. Really enjoyed the commitment to the setting by making the movie as corny as possible though ?
  5. They’re building a temporary field.
  6. It kinda sucks *also ducks*
  7. MLB did this what two weeks ago? It’s a fun idea.
  8. Well he’s reading awfully far into this.
  9. I agree with all of this I was just making an observation
  10. 1)Because they’re playing with a super ball that they weren’t playing with in 2015. The average OPS is 40 points higher league wide. 2) there are more good hitters but the bad hitters are WAY worse.
  11. They both suck. If were picking between two guys who suck I'll take the cheap one. The optimal thing to do would be find someone else.
  12. They also have to carry an extra guy after several years of three man benches. A 26th man who's mostly a bum is probably going to be extremely common league wide.
  13. They have much bigger fish to fry, and if a guy who can play average shortstop is who you end up giving 3 at bats a week too, I'm not going to cry about it. Leury should play damn near everyday though.
  14. Leury should be the first man off the bench at just about any position, but I wouldn't hate having goins around if multiple subs are needed on a given day. Yolmer is too expensive for what he gives.
  15. Not really fair to look at raw OPS in this environment. But OPS+ was 2 guys over 100 in 2015 vs 4 guys in 2019. Lineup is worse overall in 19 though.
  16. It is. But I'd prefer he didn't have to hit .325 to have it that high lol
  17. 2 out of 4 on dumpster dives is a workable rate. Not counting Alonso or Jay.
  18. Picking up Ivan Nova was a solid move. There. I said it.
  19. Nah it's wrong, but it's most people's first instinct to assume it's not American sounding
  20. Day game after a double header seems dumb
  21. If Anderson is your worst hitter sure. That seems like a tallish ask though.
  22. He wasn’t patient even when he was good. His O-swing is actually 4% lower than his rookie year.
